I was there last week and this was the e-mail from my host. More nickle and dime.

Due to new casino complimentary policy, we do not offer complimentary for La Cave and Internet/ In Room Movie charges.

If you need to connect several devices to Internet,, I would highly recommend you to OPT IN to our Tower Suite Resort Fee ($35 plus tax per night) which includes:

    • Wi-Fi Internet access for unlimited devices (value of $19.99 per day)

    • Two Wynn Fitness Center passes per day (value of $20 per day)

    • Unlimited local and domestic long distance calls

    • VIP Line Pass to Wynn and Encore nightclubs with tickets purchased directly from Concierge

    • VIP Line Pass to The Buffet for up to four guests

Hmmmm. This is VERY similar to the change that was made at Venetian Palazzo last year. At one point, all hotel guests had free wi-fi in the rooms, now they charge everyone $19.99 and up for packages that include wi-fi. It's up the host to comp it presuming your play covers the charges.

I assume we will soon be seeing all the properties fall into line on charging for this now.

The race to the bottom continues. Much like airlines and their continual gutting of the FF programs.

I'm speculating here but in the event that we have another significant downtown in the economy, (hopefully!) there will be a reversal of some of this nonsense. I was looking at some statistics the other day at work between the downturn in business in Las Vegas/lower % of flights to Vegas and the more comps/ancillary things given to players and it seemed pretty amusing. I'm not an economist but my assumption is that when things are good, the place sells itself.

Obviously this is a no crap comment on my part but I guess I'm just hopeful this is ebb and flow and in a few years, things will get less bad lol.
