Most insane night of gambling I've ever had!

So I had a couple of house showings on Saturday that were scheduled rather last minute, and I hadn't gotten ready for the day yet, so I decided to head to Harrah's Joliet for a shower and free room (you might be a degenerate if...). I had $100 weekly comp to the steakhouse so went for a nice dinner and a couple dirty martinis, and then hit the casino about 7 pm. I only had about $800 on me and $240 in free play. I was texting with a friend saying "I'm only low rolling tonight..." but you know how that goes.

The night started off really well. Between my FP and $100 of my own money, I built a TITO up to $1400. Had been playing a few Ainsworths to start out, Twice the Diamonds and Cash Cave. Got a few bonuses on Cash Cave playing $2 or $3 (two cent machine) and turned $50 in FP into $272. Then eventually won the rest on two cent Geisha - which is so boring but one of my favorite machines ever. Then a little after that I won the Major on Cashman Tonight for $577 and they had to hand pay me since it is considered a progressive. The attendant mentioned that they were so busy, the HL room was hopping with jackpots, and there wasn't enough staff there to pay everyone quickly.

I was feeling quite happy and satisfied with my wins, I had put a few hundreds in other machines and lost them, but overall I was up about $1700 at this point. Unfortunately I realized I was at around 1500 tier credits. It was probably after one in the morning at this point and I should've just gone to bed. My phone was dead, I was tired, and I knew that my luck would probably turn. But no.... instead, I had the bright idea to try to hit 2500 tier credits so I could get the 5000 pt bonus. I vowed to just play VP the rest of the night - even though it takes double the coin-in for VP, I seem to rack up the tier credits a lot quicker, and of course your money lasts longer (usually). Was playing STP Spin Poker for $12.50 a spin and just couldn't get anything good, and was down to $1100 on my ticket pretty quickly. And I was getting too tired to really play DDB correctly, so I decided to abandon VP and go back to slots.

Then I discovered Wonder 4 Tall Fortunes. This machine is brand new (didn't even see it in Vegas last trip) and I hadn't been able to find an open one all night. Well since it was about 2 now, one was finally open. Gah... this game was HORRIBLE. I was betting max, $11.50 a spin, and lost my entire $1100 TITO in about 20 minutes. Sure, I got a few bonuses, but none were over $100. I DO NOT recommend this game!

Now I realized I was in full on degen mode, I had about $800 left in my purse (the Cashman win and my remaining starting bankroll) and I was like, eff it. I decided to attempt the HL room. I played $5 WOF and quickly lost $200. I was just fed up at that point. But guess what? I was at 2497 tier credits. Soooo close...

They have two dollar Ainsworths in their HL room - Mustang Money and Thunder Cash. I've never had any luck on these two at Joliet, although I have had plenty of luck on dollar Ainsworths elsewhere. Now, when I play these Ainsworths, I always try to just bet low, because it eats up your money just too darn fast. You can be betting $20 a spin and go through hundreds without seeing a bonus. And I've had several hand pays betting only $3 or $5 a spin (mainly on Grand Dragon which is at my other local Grand Victoria). However, it definitely does seem to trigger the progressives very quickly by going up to these larger bet sizes (in my experience). The other day I was playing Grand Dragon at Grand Victoria and was betting $3/$5, and switched to $20 for a few spins, I think it was my second spin at $20, I got the minor jackpot for $401. And when I got my first Major jackpot in Jan. 2016, it was after I had again been playing $3/$5 spins all night, then went up to $20, and hit the Major in a matter of a few spins.

So... I put in pretty much all of my remaining money, I think it was $400. I may have had a few twenties left in my purse but not much. I decided to bet $30 a spin (gulp!). I was like, handpay or bust at that point. I ended up getting a few nice wins, $300, $400 etc., but couldn't snag a bonus. I went down to $20 a spin. Eventually I had to go down to $10 a spin, because I only had a few spins left. I was down to my last $10 spin when the progressive screen came up. I thought, heck I'll be happy with the minor (at $388) and then I'd go to bed, as I had eclipsed the 2500 pt threshold. Well, I didn't get the minor...

I GOT THE MAJOR!!!

I was literally the ONLY person in the HL room at this hour... I looked around to see if I could find someone to take a picture, and I lucked out as this dude strolled in. I told him I'd pay him $20 to take a pic and text it to me (a trick I learned from @dvandentop, lol). The attendant was over to get my info and she overheard, and said sorry, no pics. Well, this guy was slick and got a couple without her noticing. He made good on his word and wouldn't even take my $20!





I asked for $8500 in a check and the balance in cash. I of course had a blast of adrenaline now and wanted to keep playing. Unfortunately I had to wait almost 45 minutes for the check to be issued. So I decided to go to bed. But went to hit the Cash Cave machine that I had good luck on earlier as it was on my way back to the room. Now, the thing I really like about Ainsworth machines is that it seems all of their bonus round have some unique feature, they're not all just free games. With this one, if you get three of the Cash Cave symbols in the bonus round, you get 5 more additional spins, and it pays you up to a x8 multiplier. So I get the bonus betting max (500 credits so $10/spin) and the very first spin I got the retrigger! So I had 14 free spins now with the crazy multiplier feature. Well, on one of the very last spins, I got the first reel of all premium symbols, and then four wild reels! I knew it was going to be HUGE but no idea just how huge. And I usually have no idea what I win on these Ainsworths because there's so many lines, so I just let it add up so I can see the line pays. It just kept adding up and adding up.... One of the cocktail waitresses that I'm friendly with walked by and said OMG, what did you win, and I told her I had no idea! So we just both watched the credit meter go up... and up... and up...

$6234!! (I had a few small other winning spins in that bonus, but the majority was all from that spin!)
I was just aghast, in awe. In some ways, this was better than winning the Major!

While I was waiting for that handpay, I put $100 in the Twice the Diamonds, max bet and got a bonus, and cashed out with $700!

So overall I ended up about $15200 for the night, and 3100 tier credits! Stumbled up to the room around 4:15!!

I am so mad that my phone was dead and I couldn't capture these wins, however, if I win like this when my phone is dead, I'll take that every time!

Definitely my biggest gambling night ever as far as total wins.

@Ainsworth, are there any Cash Caves in Vegas? I haven't seen any anywhere... I know the game's a few years old.

 

Derek I have a feeling it could be good when not max betting, like this idiot was. I saw a guy betting around $2 and he was getting some nice bonuses earlier.

 

Nope. Got about two hours of sleep. This compiled with the night before of no sleep being nervous about our house going live on the market... well, needless to say I slept GREAT last night! LOL!
