Hit this yesterday on Dragon Bucks at the local. The crazy part- I only put in $20 which I usually start with just to see if the game is hitting and accidentally bet $2 instead of $5. First spin it came up.

New tax rules - if you take the standard deductions for 2018 which increase significantly from 2017 then you can't write off your gambling losses since you're not itemizing.

I haven't done the math for my specific situation but what I'm hearing is 90% of Americans will take the standard deduction.

I'm guessing I'm not going to have enough w-2g this year to make it worth itemizing my taxes so I'd rather pay federal up front.

 

Ok, I'm the worst person to know about taxes. So what if you rack up significant w2g's and you normally lose more than the w2gs? Is it gong to be better to itemize?

I'm no expert either so I have been struggling with this but from what I understand is if you have over $10,000 in W2gs at the end of the year that's about the point where it makes sense to itemize and therefore you can write them off and not pay federal.

Please take this with a grain of salt because I definitely am not an accountant or tax expert.

Got the Unicow!

I first tried this game a month ago and it took $600 betting $3.50 in about 20 mins. I've been hearing about the Unicow so decided to try to fight my way to the Unicow. Because I'm not to familiar with the machine,mother than the quick loss previously, I decided it would be best to play at $1.75 while venturing into this unknown territory. Well the machine took about $500 betting $1.75, the machine was playing horrible, then came the UNICOW. Unfortunately it was probably the worst you can do with the Unicow, I only got 100 free games and total payout was $250.

I then decided to try the machine next to it, and after about $100 in it started cascading, got the double bonus cow and then all of a sudden it got to the 400 games. It happened so quick I didn't know what was happening. The 400 games was without the Unicow. The best part was flying under a jackpot by a hair at $1183.00.
