My norm is buffet breakfast to star the morning - they open at 7 but I try to wait until 7:30 or 8:00 because they're never completely set up at 7. If I get hungry around noon I'll just grab a slice at the Pizza place.

DInner is usually at one of Lemongrass, Bardot, Jean Georges, Carbone, Javiert's or Catch. Likely just have something light like a chicken sandwich from the Burger Lounge on tournament day because they put out a nice spread all afternoon

Thanks - it is definitely getting close. Good news/bad news. The bad news is that it is being held at the Bellagio - have to walk over each day (Thursday to register, Friday to play and Saturday to hear how I did). The good news is that I won day 1 at the only other tournament that I played there.

My plane lands at noon. Expect to be gambling by 1ish - my room had better be ready :) :)

At the airport and reminded once again that I should have invested better in the 80's. If so, I'd be at the private plane terminal :)

OK OK - I'm back - flight got in without a hitch at 4PM yesterday - 30 minutes early. I had a great time and like past trips will post a full recap, including some pics, to add some color to the story. I don't know how any of you do it - but when I'm gambling I have zero interest in go to Tapatalk and posting :) :) :)

    Here's the highlights

    1. Didn't do well in the tournament
    2. Finished 3rd in the Holiday Gift Shops Spin Tournament - netted me $1,650 free play
    3. Had my worst ever gambling day on Saturday - the Dark Cloud followed me around the entire day
    4. Had a nice mini comeback on Sunday afternoon and evening - phew - needed it after Saturday
    5. Met up with lots of my Aria slot friends and met a lot of new ones

Didn't do well in the tourney or was there a 2nd tourney?

    Was it the trifecta one?

    $1650 fp is great

There was actually 2 Trifecta tournaments. The first one for those who entered at least 3 buy-in tournaments. That's the one I did lousy in. The second one was for those who were in at least 3 of the 5,000 buy-in tournaments. I refuse to enter one of those.

The one that I finished third in was the end-of-year Holiday Spin tournament with 1,000,000 gift shop points for 1st. This was a multi-property tournament. Each property had 4 identical machines set up near the player's club desk and you were given 2 free 5 minutes shots at posting the top score.

I spun on Saturday and was actually in 1st place after posting 11,315 on my second spin. It didn't hold up as I was beaten by 2 other scores - one by 290 points and the other by 200 points. Geez - so close to 3,550 free play but heck - at least I got 100 for day 1 (combined score of 21,000) and 1,650 for the holiday spin. I also got 200 more for something else but can't remember how I got that.

I left 1,550 on my account for use on my next trip back :) :)

    Highlights -

Step 1 - The TriFecta Tournament

Before I get into the actual tournament I think that what my host did for all of her participants was very nice. The tournament was at Bellagio (I didn't know this when I signed up) and on Thursday it was pouring out when I arrived at 12:00PM. After checking in I was not looking forward to heading over to Bellagio to sign up for the tournament at 4 - when out of nowhere I got a text from one of my Aria slot friends telling me that our host was going to sign us up as a courtesy for the tournament being at Bellagio. Cool - a winner.

I couldn't really get anything going on Thursday or on Friday although it was altogether bad. I was getting enough smallish wins to at least keep the bleeding to a trickle.

I couldn't manage anything decent in the tournament. Only 1 of my rounds was over 11,000 and my total for the best 2 was around 21,500. I won day 1 the last time I played at Bellagio so I was expecting to repeat that feat for the $50,000 :) :)

Played the rest of Friday after the tournament and went upstairs for the night with another day of modest losses.

Step 2 - Holiday Gift Shop Tournament

I did really lousy on my first attempt - 4,300. Not even enough to get in the top 30. I went back a couple of hours later to play my second round (you could play at will) and was watching an Aria slot buddy play a machine what was acting very nicely - he finished with 8,900 so I told the attendants that I wanted to play that machine.

I was acting great right out of the gate. I had like 3,250 points in the first 1 minute and got to 11,314 with 30 seconds to go. Wouldn't you know that I couldn't get diddly in those last 20 or so seconds.. Just one line of blues and I would have won the darned thing.

Step 3 - Dark Cloud Saturday. You know how those days go. Down big in the first 2 hours and it never does get better. I did manage to get a new slot friend that day. She had a $10,000 line hit of a $1 3 reel 3-credit machine near the players club - 10 times - 7 - 10 times. She said she hit it because I wished her luck on it as I was walking by because that's the really old machine with the standalone progressive that is at $205,000. She was so appreciative that she gave me $100 - and we both proceeded to go over to the buffalo grands near the poker room together. She of course got like 4 bonuses to my 1 but that was the dark cloud day - right????

Step 4 - the mini comeback that started at 1:19 pm

This got the ball rolling - I was down again Sunday - likely around 10 benjamins - geez - not looking good but I was optimistic because I was at least getting some wins all day.

Here's the hit that got it started - note that I'm now resorting to low rolling given my cumulative 4 days of losses.
    20181202_131921.jpg

I'm used to getting between 3 and 5 of these every trip but this was my first one

I then marched down to play near the lift bar and was showing another slot friend 88 Fortunes and Dancing Drums, which she had never played - she's more of a $5.00 reel machine girl.

Check out this insane hit on .88 - and note how the $380 I had an hour earlier was already back down to 300 then I hit this.

    20181202_142043.jpg

I then took her over to show her Dancing drums and picked the 5 x 5 bonus (no more stinkin' mystery for me) - and was pleased with the 100X result.

    20181202_145119.jpg

So we kept playing next to each other - she managed a bonus but not as lucky as mine - heck - most dancing drums bonus suck to be honest.

Nine minutes (time is on the picture) after getting the 100X bonus pictured above the cup closed and this happened.

    20181202_145909.jpg

I then ate early dinner at Lemongrass bar at around 4:30 - Anthony, the bar tender, is awesome. Stop by and ask him for his Martini - he's won best Martini in Vegas contest at least 3 times.

I played this down to 1,500 on several different machines (slot traveling method) and pocketed the ticket. I played around the casino on a new Hundy for a few more hours and only had this hit to show for it. I decided to call it a night at 7:30 because I had been up steadily gambling since 5AM - and still had to pack and meet the limo at 5:15am. I can assure you that the mini comeback made the return trip a little more pleasant. Ended up taking home more than half of my bankroll. Could have been far worse :)
