Just to help a fellow board member out, @bebe, @Texas Steph, and I conducted extensive research this week at both Chandelier and Sports Book on your question. The tickets seem to come out at the same rate as always, for me roughly every 15-20 mins. I honestly can't keep up without help, so it is a team sport.

Taking an extended break or slow play will impact, so if you're bsing a lot, which never happens, or go to the restroom, or quit playing for a while, it does seem to reset or at least slow things down. So take your break right after a ticket prints out!

that actually seems reasonable considering the kind of drink you can get comped. Having never spent ANY time at Cosmo before ... are most drinks a single drink ticket?

Their premium menu cocktails at Chandelier are a $1 more than the ticket value, which is annoying, since you can't pay the difference. But you can get most any variety of cocktail outside of those.

Thanks for the info, @IrishDave. I'm sure it was hard work, but we appreciate your efforts! Judging from the trip report, it certainly looks like you put in your fair share of time at the Sports Bar and Chandelier, so you're certainly in a position to make an accurate assessment of the drink ticket situation. Also, bonus points to you for discovering and sharing news of nickel DSTP and UX at the Sports Bar!

Most drinks are one ticket. The tickets are "worth" up to $15 each, which is why I keep trying to get @MrsIrishDave to order something other than Miller Lite! The specialty drinks take two tickets.

The great thing about Chandelier is you can combine tickets to get upgraded drinks, and other than HL bars, there's no other place I can get Lagavullin, Oban, etc. You could even save up tickets to get Blue Label if you wanted. The only downside is you can't "save" your initial comp when you start playing, so I usually get a Black Label and milk it until I get two tickets.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought drink tickets are currently valued at $16 each and specialty / menu cocktails at Chandelier are $17. Not that long ago, specialty / menu cocktails were only $16 and thus could be acquired with only 1 drink ticket, but earlier this year (January, I think), the price of specialty / menu cocktails was increased to $17, thus creating the $1 disparity.

If you want a premium drink but haven't accumulated any drink tickets yet, I've often wondered if you can start a tab and then pay it off with drink tickets as you earn them. However, since the initial comped drink when you start playing can't be combined with a previously earned single ticket to upgrade to a premium drink right off the bat, it's essentially use it or lose it, so as @IrishDave mentioned, you might as well start off with a drink that's $16 or less.

I need to go to Cosmo. I spend too much time slumming it trying to impress hookers with 80 cent Buffalo bets.

You’re right, I’m a couple of years behind! They won’t let you do the tab thing either :( But their rail drinks are what other places consider premium

I believe this is what they consider foreshadowing - leading to bad ideas. And I love it! Thank you!

@IrishDave, I think it was you in the trip report who mentioned that seats can be reserved at the Sports Bar. Do you have any information on how that works and when it's available? It would be great if seats could also be reserved in advance at Chandelier, but aside from holding a seat for someone who needs to step away for a few minutes, I've never seen or heard of advance reservations there either.

That wasn’t me, but I did see some seats reserved at the sports book itself. I’ve not seen reserved seats at the bar, but a host or VIP services might be able to do something

Sometimes it's just a personal relationships thing, too. Most bars have "reserved" placards that they can put out to block off a seat, but often it's up to the discretion of the bartenders rather than a true reservation. For example, I know people over at the Aria bars that I can text and have them save a seat for me with a "reserved" sign. It's completely unofficial but definitely comes in handy.

The Sportsbook has reservations available on Cosmo’s website for seating. Not like in front of the VP. I think it’s for the nice spots in front of the TV.

So at the Cosmo Sportsbar, they do put reserved signs on all the seats. This is the area around the bar with VP machines. They are reserved for VP players so if you’re playing they more than likely will let you sit. They (the bar staff) will also save you a seat if they know you, for the next morning if you show up early on say Football Sunday’s or even March Madness. So don’t be deterred by reserved signs if you plan on actively playing VP.
