Im actually considering palace station for my first trip back. Pan Roast, vp, and beers for a 3 day weekend. Keep it simple for the first trip back.

This is what I’m thinking also. The place got cleaned up nicely, and I get treated pretty well there. It’s helpful that I rent a car.

I got an email the other day from a casino in Idaho stating they planned to open today at 9am. Masks required for both staff and customers, closing from 3am-7am for deep cleaning, extra sanitizer stations, etc. I only gambled there after golfing at Circling Raven last year. Interesting to see how that goes. Meanwhile the WA governor just extended his order to stay at home through the end of the month. Not trying to stir the politics pot, but WA is very blue, and Idaho is very red, and the responses to this current situation are really starting to show.

EDIT: Was just on the news here in Seattle. Temps taken at the door, every other machine turned off.

Yeah was thinking that.....basically when they first open occupancy is going to be so low, NYNY can accommodate all of the Luxor/Excalibur/NYNY crowd and Bellagio can pick up the higher end crowd, keep everyone condensed in two places. Although we should be operating in a more spread out world that doesn't really work in operating mega resorts in a profitable manner with smaller crowds.

Has there been any indication of what drink service will be like when these places open? I can't see myself going to Vegas and not being drowned in "free" booze.

Governor just excelled aged phase 1. Now it’s the 9th instead of the 15th. Restaurants, salons, and retail can open at 50% capacity. Outdoor malls open but indoor only curbside.

Hubby was reading his CDC gaming reports this fine morning and in one of the articles it mentions this new phase one is currently scheduled through May 30th ( possible room for wiggle to go forward or backwards.... I’m clearly shortening the wording on that lol) anyone else see this ?

I read that too. Also read the gaming commission has gave their outlined requirements for the go ahead. Does the Governor decide when casinos open or gaming commission?

I think the governor decides when they open, the GC just laid out the “ rules” they must follow when given the green light so to speak. Which brings up this little thought... so if the gaming floor has to be limited to 50% ( and they will do this through methods such as ..head counting, surveillance and slot card activity) what if I’m staying at Cosmo but decide to go over to Venetian to play and come back to Cosmo and they are at “ capacity”... do then then say “ sorry you’ll have to wait to come in?” I agree measures being taken but??..............

I don't think the casinos will have to worry about hitting 50% capacity for a long time. There's just not going to be that level of demand.

It's based on max occupancy (mainly determined by fire exit capabilities) which always tends to be much more than you'd expect, especially in more modern buildings designed to maximize it.

I'm almost certain that the properties will have policies that prioritize guests or even heavily restrict non-guests.

The gaming commission decides when casinos can open after they have submitted their “game plan” for approval. Treasure island just said they will open May 22nd.

Well there ya have it :) though the way I read it was the governor decides when and the commission has the authority on who can open once that occurs. TI also said they were opening May 15th originally too lol. I certainly hope that it happens but I suppose time will tell.

I think a lot of people are just putting off decisions on other departments or associations so they don’t take as much heat or blame later on.

The whole blame game is so non-constructive. You'd think adults could come together to tackle a problem. What "should have been" done (in the past) is pretty irrelevant.

Harrahs Cherokee (NC) sent an email saying they are opening May 15 by invitation only. Then announced they are pushing back opening to June.
