Road Tripping Once Again, Destination Vegas! 6/14- 6/27

Yes, hubs and I are driving to Vegas. It'll be fun! Just ask @BeeeJay and fam!

As some of you may recall, my previous "Road Tripping" TR (posted over in the Non-Vegas Trip Reports section) was over the latter part of Memorial Day weekend. Biloxi MS had announced plans to open their area casinos, and we wanted in, dammit! Too much time at home + great sadness at missing our late April Vegas blowout (thanks coronavirus, ugh) + itchy gambling fingers = why the hell not. It was fun and different and we are glad we did it. Check out that TR if you missed it.

Anyway, not long after that trip, we started reading bits and pieces about the real possibility of Vegas opening up in June. Funny thing is, when I cancelled our April trip, I went ahead and booked some things for a not-likely mid-June Vegas trip, 'cause some persons *ahem, @IrishDave, @momnkid* were talking about rescheduling for that time frame. Then they started talking about a July 4th trip instead. Hmmmm. But then I got word that I can start back at my job (that I was furloughed from) on June 29th. Scratch July!
So when word came out that Vegas would be back in business (mostly) on June 4th, we said heck, let's do it. Maybe someone (anyone?) we know will show up during our stay... and if not, we will still have a great time, of course!

After much discussion, we cancelled our airfare from Houston (plus hubs homebound flight) but kept mine, so that I could get home before the 29th and he could continue on driving back, taking his time and enjoying more sights as he meanders homeward.
We also added some days to our original plan (yay!) and we still have our original BR from the cancelled April trip, and it all just came together. Ta-da!

I've already been in contact with a few VFers since announcing our trip in the June Roll call thread, so it looks like some meet-ups will be happening! And I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed that a certain someone will actually get on a plane next weekend and make this trip just that! much! better!!

Ok, enough yammering... we leave bright and early tmrw morning, and should be in Vegas by mid afternoon on the 16th. And we're staying for 11 nights, woohoo!! I plan to take lots of pics as usual, and make this as Live as possible. Or not. 'Cause Vegas!!

I didn't want to be redundant and post my itinerary again here (already did in the June roll call) but for those to lazy to look... (I'm kidding! ) here goes:
16th, 17th at The Cal
18th at Wynn
19th, 20th at The Orleans
21st thru 26th at Cosmo
And we leave early-ish on the 27th. So, a little of everything... downtown, off-strip, and strip.

I'm not looking forward to that part of the drive, ugh. We've done it before and it was boring then! Hubs got his way on our route to Vegas, so first nights stop will be swanky Brownfield, Tx . Then we will be heading to I-40, so unfortunately Phoenix would be out of our way, boo. We are still debating on where to spend the second night...

 

Nice to see you posting, my friend!!! Sooooo wish you were headed to Vegas THIS coming weekend! I will defo have a glass of the bubbly to toast you from afar (this might get messy! 1 for you, and 1 for @Figment76, and there's bound to be others...)
