I've been saying for a while that the smaller shows are likely to be the first to open. Things like comedy clubs, Carrot Top, etc. Those are sustainable because they don't take a ton of crew or performers to run and so can get by on limited capacity. Something like a Cirque production, by contrast, just wouldn't work with 50% max attendance (or whatever the number is these days).

Piff is starting 29 October, as well (they were just talking about it on the news). And Mr. Piffles will be there!

I looked for tickets for December. Ticketmaster says "sold out". I'm hoping maybe the calendar hasn't been updated yet, and will check back again. If it is truly "sold out", good for them.

I'm pretty sure they just haven't gone on sale yet. Piff tickets aren't going on sale until a couple weeks from now, for example. But if they really are sold out, agreed, that's good news.

I just looked again. The Caesars website sends you to Ticketmaster and the message is "sold out". I went to the email I received which sent me to AXS and am able to book tickets thru that website, I think.

I was able to purchase tickets to Absinthe for December. Capacity limits will likely make it necessary to purchase tickets sooner than you may have done so in the past. Yesterday, there were numerous 2 person tables available for purchase. Today, there are only a few. Heads up!

Yea, looks like the capacity went from somewhere around 650+ to less than 200 now. Honestly it'll probably make for an enjoyable experience!

I'd be worried with less people in there they might notice me and call on me to do something, or ruthlessly mock me lol

Not to mention, Ross Mollison (founder of Spiegelworld, which produces Absinthe) has been very public about the fact that he wants to demonstrate that shows can be started up safely, not just in order to benefit his shows, but Vegas shows and the Strip as a whole. He's done a bunch of interviews along those lines. Just my personal sense, but he comes across as taking a longer-term view, rather than wanting to pack the audience for some short-term profit and then having to close a week later.

    EDIT:
As per the news, it's closer to 150: https://news3lv.com/news/local/las-vegas-live-shows-are-back

Mollison is a smart guy, and I think he's trying primarily to demonstrate that live entertainment is feasible given everything that's going on.

We booked Absinthe for our visit in a few weeks. You had to buy tickets that fit your party size. Which is based on the tables they allocate for that size. I’ll report on how it is.

oops someone said something similar above. Ha, well I’ll report anyways ;)

Please report on our experience at Absinthe. We have tickets for a December show. I haven't seen any reviews since it's return. I'm anxious to know if the seating works and if you felt ok in the tent. Thanks.

We went last night and enjoyed the evening. They ask you if you have any symptoms. Then they temperature check you. Your party will sit in color coded chairs. They start calling in groups by color and they escort you to your seats. Each table has a QR code where you can order drinks. Essentially, you are 6 ft from other groups. A friend we went with mentioned she liked it better than before. Due to it was not as packed as the events before COVID.

The talent was amazing. It’s raunchy but over all we had a good time. A couple drunk Bridal party ladies were the target of some jokes. Oh myyyy lol

I needed to add that you wear your mask the entire time unless you are drinking

Thank you for the information. I'm hoping things don't get shut down before we get there in December.

We cancelled our trip. Eating the cost of the tickets to the show (as it hasn't been cancelled), but knew this could happen when we bought them. Anyway, hoping to catch Absinthe sometime next year.
