All machine play appears to now count the same at all tiers, with $1 of theo earning 4 tier points, 4 reward points, and 4 gift points. (With Venetian, think in terms of theo and not in terms of coin-in. It makes things easier if you know.) In the past, the earning of points (status, reward, gift) was more generous for slots compared to other machine play (e.g. VP and ETGs) at the Gold and Platinum levels.

Tier is nice, but those who are players -- real players -- get consistently taken care of based on comp value (which means theo). Venetian wants players, and the changes to tier progression and the reduction of some of the tier benefits make that crystal clear. If you are worth it, you will still get the car service, baller suites, cabanas, and Michelin-star meals all paid for by the casino operation.

I was mid Gold, with only one trip in 2020 (August). Never made it back to get to Platinum. Logged in and I am at Elite in new program. Honestly there is so little difference between Paiza Gold and Elite, the "suite upgrade" perk for Paiza when you read the fine print only applies if you pay for the room and not on a comp. Others mentioned offers with free play pulled or reduced. All of my offers are still the same as they have been for the past few months, they all seem to either be slightly more food or slightly more free play but add up to the same amount each month/offer. Also tournaments through Feb are still there. I am primarily an MGM player but for longer Vegas stays I will add 2-3 days at Venetian and play enough to get free room offers or attend a tournament if it lines up with a trip already planned.

With Wynn and now Venetian updating programs, I wouldn't be surprised to see MGM make even more tweaks. I am not a CET player, I just walk through Harrah's and Flamingo for the free AC when traveling on that side of the strip to stay in the shade.

Well, don‘t like that too much.
My grazie profile now shows paiza gold through 02/2022, no offers besides the usual (20% off, and 25% off with breakfast). Meh.
I kinda hate it, but maybe its finally time to check out the cosmo program...

I hear you. I’m Elite, but my host likes to send emails like this whenever I ask him to book a room:

Please try to average 4 – 5 hours of play per day per trip to continue to get future offers. Anything less and your future offers will not be as strong to cover all nights of the month and will have a mandatory nightly resort fee.

Like I don’t already know this. Does anyone else get emails like this from their V/P host??

I’m going to test out Mlife and Cosmo next year.

This is one reason I don't like dealing with hosts. Sometimes I go and play 12 hours per day, and other trips I play 2 hours per day. Their computer system seems to recognize that and they have an algorithm that issues offers based on your overall expected value to the property. If you call room reservations and book based on offer code, they just book it if it's in the system. But if you try to book through a host and they see that you didn't play as much as they wanted you to on your last trip, they can tell you the offer is no longer available, etc. and manually override the system.

Hosts are mostly meatheads that don't really understand the machine learning-based algorithms that generate these offers. The algorithms are able to accurately model your future value based upon the behavior of all patrons in the system that have similar play history to you. But hosts just see "last trip bad" and cost the property tens or hundreds of thousands in longer term earnings when they cause a player to stop coming by manually overriding the algorithms that are much smarter than they are.

Never understood why casinos are so hung up on "hours per day". Even the dimmest employee should be able to figure out that an hour of $500 bets is no different than 5 hours of $100 bets.

Because time is not our friend... if we win early, they know the likelihood of us losing it back is higher over time.

I’ve never been platinum anywhere as my trips are always too spread out or I use to think using cards jinxed me. Lol I have a host at every property I’ve stayed at. I don’t think they care about tier, just how much you lose! I’m great at losing! You need to reach out to a marketing person or even host on duty and they will set you up with one. They have approached me while playing or through emails. That’s how I got most of mine.

Request a different host... there are better ones there. Mine is great and part of the reason we keep going back.

If it is takig 6 trips to hit Platinum you may not be playing enough to get a host.

I’ve never hit platinum ever and consider myself a low-roller and somehow I have a host. Not that my host does much for me LOL.

Never ever got an email like that from my host. My V/P host was incredible. Never paid anything at checkout and got everything I asked for upfront. My host however moved up to VP of slots there now. Cuz he was great at his job! Lol

After just getting back from a stay I’d have to say the new Grazie program isn’t that bad. We gained points easily making Elite within 2 solid days of play and were well taken care of regarding back end comps. If it wasn’t for some sketchy as hell clientele ( saw scooter gang, coolers on gaming floor and the fight that Dave mentioned .... one girl tossed hot coffee right into the face of another girl pure madness... and wether drug bomb sniffing dogs... that particular security dog was having none of it ) I’d consider moving back to VP ... love the resorts and restaurants.

Supposed to stay there late February/early March. Hoping Palazzo is open because I much prefer it to Venetian. If Venetian is my only option, I may cancel and stay at Wynn. Hoping to miss out on the "sketchy, scooter gang fighting crowds", but you never know what's gonna happen . . . It's Vegas. LOL. Glad you had a good experience otherwise.

Palazzo side is great ( though cooler and scooter gang were present lol btw.. I have no real issue with either ) Venetian side was on a whole different level of bs... I do hope palazzo side is open too. Did they shut down completely again or just mon-thur? I’ve never stayed at Wynn but might give it a try. Enjoy your upcoming trip!!

I honestly don't know what the current situation is. It was closed completely, reopened and then I read they were closing again. I'm booked at Venetian and hoping for Palazzo. :)

At least as of now, Palazzo hotel tower is closed entirely (casino/some restaurants are open I believe). Obviously anything can change, but with MGM announcing more layoffs just today, it sounds like things aren’t improving so I doubt we will see Palazzo open in the first half of this year. Demand may improve enough over the summer to reopen it though.

Pretty sure the Palazzo casino is open full time and the hotel is only open on weekends. According to the website most of the restaurants in Palazzo itself are open Thurs - Sun/Mon

The hotel is no longer open, even on weekends, at least for the next 2 weeks. It does appear that they are taking Palazzo reservations for the weekend of January 22 and on. So perhaps it will stay open after that.
