Recap TR from MGM Skylofts Dec 26-28!

Since I have really bombed at Live trip reports over the last few months, thought I would take a shot at a recap this time instead!

Last minute decision to head to Vegas the day after Christmas which is always the best way to book! No waiting game! Decided to give MGM some love this time and got set up in a skyloft from our host... was super hesitant after having a few issues in them with our July trip, but happy to report everything is back to normal with the 2 elevators being designated skyloft again and now ONLY go to that floor. Very nice!

12/26
Made it to Vegas on time and dropped our luggage to the room in record time! No time to waste, had to get to the high limit room!

Took a little while to get on a roll but then was able to hit this... probably my favorite machine of all time:


Went and grabbed a small lunch and drinks at Wolfgangs, I had made reservations but they were allowing people to walk up add their name to list and then be seated. Love that they have a favorite beer on tap here and that red sangria is killer but verrrryyyy sneaky!

After lunch Decided to take a little risk because this progressive was so high and hit these back to back to back... all within 5 min and 10 spins... never happens! BTW the big $$$ never hit the whole trip for anyone

Kept playing until dinner never hitting anything else big and managing to lose $2k on the 3 card table

Ran up, changed for dinner, and headed to Emerils! We still can’t believe the wines they offer on this list! We were able to score a 2006 FUTO and 2002 Dalla Valle that were both screaming to be opened!
Have to brag on our waiter here, VJ! He is the coolest guy and really knows his wine! Can’t wait to go back and enjoy many more dinners with him serving.. stay tuned!
Oysters were on point and we also ordered soups and salads for dinner! Wine was the main attraction!

 

12/26 After Dinner!
Ended up having a pretty nice session after dinner with these hits! Could not believe I snagged another HP on the same
Lion machine, but no more hits on that one, and then a rare hit on $5 top dollar! Best first day of a trip I have had in a while! Going to bed even or up is very rare!

 

12/27
Headed to the gym around 7:30am, it was not crowded at all but they were VERY strict with your mask being on the whole time which was new for the gym. Limit 12 people at all times.
Walked over to Signature Tower 1 for Starbucks afterwards. This was one of the BIG issues we found this trip... all the Starbucks were closed? What the heck? Only the main lobby one at MGM open and signature on the weekends..

After changing we went down to play for a bit and hit this on $10 TD!



Walked over to Top Golf right after this pay for a club fitting and private lessons! If you ever have a need for this it was awesome! Ended up getting hubby a new custom set of Callaway Mavrik Pro irons and got some good tips from their golf pro Lindsay! The have a full Foresight setup on Level 1. Worth it to get new clubs and a few tips!

After 2 hours of golf we grabbed a quick pizza and drinks from Wolfgangs and back to play... then this happened!! My first Full screen of pigs! And hubby hates this game so made it an even sweeter win!

No other big hits for the day but kept winning enough to play and stay UP!

We had reservations at Craftsteak but decided to go back to see VJ at Emerils for more great service and wine! Ended up drinking a killer old Dunn, that was super bretty and a good change from the “usual” Napa, followed by the BEST bottle of Araujo we have opened so far the 2003! Food was just outstanding too! IMO Emerils is VERY over shadowed by Craftsteak....







Played a little more after dinner but no wins to speak of. Lost a little more on the 3 card table, it was brutal the whole trip, and then called it a night!

 

Ohhhh good eye!! that LV only gets to see Vegas!

 

12/28
Morning we have to leave
This is where we ran into the Starbucks issue with only the lobby location being open.. SMH. Line was backed up all the way to VIP entrance so settled for high limit room coffee which is PRETTY DANG GOOD! ️️️
They were changing all the cameras in the high limit room and kept blocking things off so I stumbled out towards Whiskey Down and found a Wonder 4 Boost machine with rhino charge. Hit a bonus that only paid around $100, and then hit another one that triggered 128 games or something like that... I picked the feature with stack wilds instead for 20-something games and I’ll be danged if it didn’t retrigger... 302 GAMES TOTAL! It took like 45Min to spin through them all and ended up with this:

Didn’t boost until there were about 40 games left but still a nice way to leave!

Overall a GREAT TRIP and can’t wait to go back the first part of February!

 

It was a great feeling to stay up the whole time for ONCE!
