Well, on the heels of the massive, Cosmo-centric group trip report from a couple of weeks ago, I’m afraid that this TR won’t quite live up to the the same level of excitement and nonstop action. That said, welcome to my comparatively subdued and humble trip report! I’m heading out on Friday morning for 6 nights at Cosmo, taking advantage of a 4 night comp offer and then two additional nights booked at casino rate.

As usual, my TR is probably going to be pretty gaming-centric…gambling at Cosmo, followed by more gambling at Cosmo, with visits to a few other properties for a change of pace now and then. Looking forward to plenty of VP and drinks at Chandelier and the Sports Bar, and if I can pull myself away from Chandy I might try some of the slots that have been noted in recent TRs…like @Texas Steph 's lucky Whales of Cash Rising Jackpots machine.

I’ll be meeting up with family who live in Vegas, and although we don’t have anything set in stone yet in terms of dining, we’ll probably hit many of our old favorites at Cosmo and elsewhere. I’m definitely looking forward to trying Bāng Bar which consistently seems to be getting excellent reviews and looks a great addition to the already solid lineup at Block 16.

Can’t wait to get going tomorrow! In the meantime, I’ve been getting in the Vegas mood with my Cosmo playlist, updated with a few new additions that were in pretty heavy rotation at Cosmo during my visits in September and December…

Always one of my favorite TR contributors! Looking forward to following along when I have the chance – I’ll probably binge it when I return home from this bachelor party. Best of luck, K! I feel a DSTP unicorn coming your way.

Thanks, @GlenCoco! Much in your style, maybe I'll take a flyer again on some dollar single line STP or DSTP in the HL room. I normally don't play at the dollar level, but sometimes the upfront Veuve comps are worth the price of admission!

On the topic of drinks, has anyone ever tried a Scooby Snack? I saw this photo (not mine) on Twitter a month or two ago and was intrigued. I always use Vegas visits to try new cocktails, and this one looks interesting.

A number of years ago when IP/Quad/Linq moved to taking drink orders on the floor via iPads, you could order a shot and a beer at the same time, so I always ordered a Scooby snack as my shot. Man, I miss Vegas!! :emoji_ferris_wheel:

Based on my cursory research, it looks like there's both a shot and a cocktail version of the Scooby Snack. I'm more interested in trying the latter, which is likely what's pictured in that photo. Although I'm sure there are many variations, apparently the primary ingredients are coconut rum, creme de banana, Midori, pineapple juice, and whipped cream.

By the way, good luck in Joliet this weekend, @TriggerMN!

The best Scooby snack I ever tried tasted like the mint-green colored fruit snack from the pack of fruit snacks. Drunk me doesn’t know how else to put it. I loved it.

Rarely do I attach a luggage tag with as much zest as when I’m flying to Vegas. In the words of Agent Hotchner, “Wheels up in 30!”

On a side note, I consider myself to be fairly technically savvy, but the bane of my existence in Vegas is having to manually rotate almost every picture I take at a machine (especially when playing bartops) from portrait to landscape mode. As a question for other iOS users, is there a trick to ensure that a photo taken with an iPhone in landscape orientation will result in a picture in landscape orientation? I’ve done some research, but there doesn’t appear to be this kind of option built into iOS. I think part of the issue is that the phone is (or thinks it is) in portrait mode when I’m taking the picture, even if I have the phone rotated to landscape mode, so I just thought I’d see if anyone has a tip or trick to work around this nuisance.

...and this concludes today’s edition of Vegas Fanatics Tech Corner :)

There is an "orientation" flag in the EXIF data of the picture, which allows whatever program / browser is displaying the picture to auto-rotate it when being viewed. Particularly for the web though, when uploading pictures there's often a process of compressing / resizing the image and sometimes, if not done properly, that will strip out the EXIF data before processing it, resulting in the wrong orientation when viewed. Long story short, most likely the issue isn't with your phone, it's with the program / website displaying it.

I hold my phone sideways in landscape formation. Let the camera settle on something like a person’s face, or the bar TV’s, then move the camera to your VP/slot screen. It doesn’t work 100% of the time, but it’s pretty close.

Good call. I’m guessing that amid the frenzied excitement of gambling, I haven’t been waiting long enough to let the camera “settle” in landscape mode before snapping the photo. We’ll see if a little more patience does the trick this trip.
