Guessing I've stayed there a dozen times in a variety of rooms. There's a lot of good things to say, drinks service on the gaming floor has always been great, the pool areas are great, never had really bad attitude from anyone, maybe 1 or 2 isolated incidents at most where someone has been out of order snarky. Picasso is amazing. Location is perfect. I don't think I'd stay there again for a while, and maybe that's just because a dozen visits is enough and time to freshen up elsewhere, so how can I mark the place down?

Well, lots of those trips were 2week stays, that is a lot of meals on site and you notice over time that the menus just don't change - ever! Sure, the cafe becomes Sadelles and Olives becomes Spagos or whatever, but even in Picasso the menu doesn't change, no fresh ideas, no seasonal specials .... after a while I found myself really struggling to try anything on the menu that I hadn't had before. One or two of the rooms I stayed in were a bit tired but the new rooms look great, tbf. Prime is ok, but it doesn't really make my top 10 of steakhouses, so I rarely go there unless someone else really wants to.

Well, doesn't look like I can mark it down very much! I always gamble some of the trip there and enjoy being on property. Perhaps I just need a few more trips staying elsewhere and then I'll try staying there again ~ I'd certainly do it if I got a good rate, but they rarely make that mistake.

25 years with the Monte, with 2 stays at MGM to break it up a couple of years ago. It doesn’t compare to many other MGM properties, but it’s what I know and therefore comfortable with, even with the updating done throughout the hotel and casino (which I’m not crazy about).

I’m with those that prefer the lower energy feel inside a casino. It’s old school. Wont say “downtown” but still like the feeling that I’m gambling in a casino with tungsten lighting and dodgy carpets.

I stay at the Monte because that’s where my host is. Sure, I can get another host elsewhere, and have done at the MGM Grand, but my Park host does look after me and ensures things are comped accordingly. She’s also a very nice person.

I’m thinking crazy thoughts right now. I’d actually like to stay a few nights downtown, especially through the dates of the Golden Arm craps Tournament (if I can make it out in late September, and travel is back on albeit with serious restrictions and safety protocols). I want to get that feeling of being in the Golden Nugget 20 years ago.

I’m also, bizarrely, looking at Ellis Island !! If I stay in Vegas for a 3 week trip, then I’m going to need to pace myself for a while, and $5 craps and $5 3:2 blackjack sounds interesting, along with $8 steak and eggs. May be good for a couple of nights.

So...Vegas hotels. They are all great in their own way! Nostalgia, convenience, location, opulence, price...it’s all there. I’ll be using my Mlife offer to snag a penthouse suite in the Mirage during my next trip for 4 nights (plus the FP and F&B they are gifting). Never stayed at the Mirage. Been to all the casinos on the strip, but hardly ventured into many of the hotel rooms.

But surely the best room is the one you feel comfortable in, and that for me is the Park MGM (or Nomad suite rooms). I’m sure the pit crews and pit bosses can’t stand me, but it’s a familiarity thing. It just feels like I’ve arrived in Vegas. Perhaps that needs shaking up. Maybe we shouldn’t feel too comfortable! So I’ve decided on one thing. I should stay where I win. Which means I’ll probably end up using my Marriott or Hilton memberships to stay off strip, where I can’t lose.

Here’s a thing...I’ve been choosing which hotel other than Park MGM to stay in for the 4 offer nights from MLIFE. (If they do it by month then I’ll stick more nights on in September), before going to Park MGM with my host for the convention dates. The choosing between all Mlife hotels has been great, because i simply do have a choice! I settled on Mirage due to the room offer which was on par with Bellagio, but location next to the fashion show mall seemed to pull me in this time, with a quick jaunt through TI to get there. And that’s the only reason. Food / dining is easy anywhere, and Mlife link all restaurants back to the room anyway.

If I had to choose what casino hotel was the best option, I’d say Aria has it all for the craps player, but I’ve never won in that casino. Ever.

Bellagio for casino, pool, spa, location on strip and overall service. The restaurants are fantastic too. Aria for the same reasons. Honestly I don't think you can go wrong with either. We always go to restaurants that are outside of the Casino at least 2x, from where we stay at, but both of these do have lovely restaurants. Bellagio fountain view from, Spago, Lago, Yellowtail is fabulous. I'm not a fan of Prime. Aria is just cool. Great restaurants! Corner suite room high floor is like being in a nest. Love it!

I had a soft for Treasure Island for a while. Had a great run there in 2000. Several monthly winning trips in a row. About 2 trips into that they were the 1st place to start offering me fully comped rooms and eventually suites. I loved the Buccaneer Bay suite with the tv rising out of the cabinet at the foot of the bed. And the Bloody Marys had the biggest green olives on earth for garnish. To be 32 again...

Hah! You know, that is probably a good part of my soft spot for Monte. They were the first place ever to comp me. :)

Also yesssss, my friends and I used to walk all the way to TI for their Blood Marys back in the day because they were a MEAL.

We.....and by that, I mean Mrs MN, is very comfortable at TI. We've been staying there for years, have a great Host, the pool has good sun angles, rooms are adequate, food is adequate...although we tend to have at least 2-3 meals off-site... casino is on the small side, but adequate for 4-hours of play per day to cover comps. I like the center-strip location. You can hop across the bridge to V/P & Wynn, take a short walk to CP/Flamingo/Bally's, or a longer walk to Cosmo. We've split trips at V/P in the past, and the rooms are great, but I don't like feeding 2 comp beasts. Did that for a couple of years, and there's no winning that battle.

@YankeeTexan I agree about the conversion of Monte Carlo to Park MGM. I felt it was timeless in its own way as Monte, and now as Park MGM, it's not as endearing and lovely as it was. I was also miffed about the removal of the beautiful entrance with the fountain and stairs leading up to the building. :(

I was very impressed with the beds and slept well, by my standards. I agree that food options are 'adequate' but I love my food too much to sign up for adequate - same feeling at the Mirage. Any time I feel hungry I'm walking out the door..... I guess the balance changes on RFB, but on their current offering, I'd be in Phil's steakhouse every day!

Now that I've stayed at quite a few resorts in Vegas, I can chime in. Here is my best to worst.

    1) Cosmo - I love the terraces facing the fountains, casino vibe, and selection, good players club/comps. The only negative experience I've had there is that one time a slot attendant gave my nongambling bestie an a** chewing for eating a cookie on the casino floor.

    2) Park MGM - I know it's a downgrade from Cosmo, but I kid you not, the beds at Park MGM are my favorite and I love the nonsmoking casino. It is a bit small but easy to walk to Cosmo or Aria if I need more variety. Negatives are (for me), I don't like the food selection here. Eataly is great, but the other sit-down restaurants meh. I also really don't like any of the drinks while gambling at MLife anymore, they all taste blech.

    3) Vdara - I hesitated for so long to try it out because I thought "Aria is so set back from the strip, Vdara is going to be even worse". I used a comp there one night when a flight back home got canceled and absolutely loved it. Their rooms are a little bit further back, but worth it in my opinion. I find everything about the Vdara rooms to be superior to Aria rooms.

    4) Aria - Rooms are nice, ALWAYS impeccably clean, love the casino, drink service/drink quality while gambling at slots could be better. The front desk at Aria are always SO nice :D

    6) NoMad - Love these rooms, they feel so homey and boutique and the staff are the best on the strip. The little touches they do = AMAZING

    7) Bellagio - It's nice. I've only stayed in the older rooms so maybe the updated ones are more impressive. I love the location and customer service is always great.

    8) Linq - I stayed here in 2019 and had a great time. Love the location, the rooms were surprisingly really nice for the price. Cons: Elevators are the worst here. I don't usually get CET comps (Idk why, so I usually just have to pay discounted rate) but for a low price, it is good!

    9) Paris - Had a good room with a terrible view, but the location is great and the price is usually very good (Don't get CET comps typically)

    10) MGM Grand - Hate the location, but love the pool and lazy river. The casino is ok, doesn't smell super nice to me. I do like the food court for late-night food options.

    11) Mirage - Rooms are nice but on the smaller side, gorgeous resort, small casino. Don't love the location, too far north for my liking

    12) Mandalay Bay - I liked staying here, but it is too far away from everything else and the resort is too large for my tastes

    13) Wynn - I know, you are probably surprised the Wynn rates so low, but honestly it's too far north for my tastes and way too fancy for my personality. I always feel so underdressed there and that isn't my vibe.

    14) Plaza - Seriously had the worst room ever here, where there wasn't even a bathroom door separating the bedroom. NEVER AGAIN

Side Note: Need to stay at more "new to me" resorts, but it's hard to not go back to "What you know is good". Maybe later this year I will try out more Caesars Properties, like Harrahs/Flamingo/Planet Hollywood/Caesars Palace

I love love staying downtown. Got 3 night coming up in June at the D, my 1st time there. Usually I stay at Fremont but I got an offer for a slot free slot tournament and had to take it. Another think I like about downtown casinos is they give free play offers without having to stay at the property. Sometimes food offers as well.

I move on to Cosmo from my old place the Flamingo on the strip. My room offers seem to be getting less and less at Cosmo (this trip only have my sterling night and a casino rate). If they all go bye bye, then I suppose I will find a new place to go.

An underrated player in this are the renovated rooms at the El Cortez (which I think are all of them now).....really well done, and you get to stay at an 80 year old casino with bags of character.

On the strip my favorite room is the Panoramic Suite at Vdara....quiet, end of hall, can't hear a thing of neighbors. Vdara works for me well, I love the chaos of Vegas but I don't want chaos anywhere near where I sleep.....nice and out of the way there.

Any fanatics maybe @JazzBaby85 knows...with the Mlife Platinum which shops at Bellagio give you the Platinum 15% discount? Hoping Louis Vuitton or Omega because with our CDN dollar being good right now I can't wait to do some shopping and update a couple keepsakes

Back when I was Platinum at MLife I asked and discount is no good at any of the higher end retailers eg LV, Prada etc.

Wynn hands down. I can’t (won’t) tolerate being on hold and when I call the Wynn I am talking to a live person within a few rings. The service is so good I will pay for our rooms rather than wait on hold to make reservations. I suppose I could get a host but like to play the way I want, where I want and not chase comps.
I feel like a Cosmo stay is coming, but worried that the neighbors will be smoking too much weed for us to enjoy the balcony.
Interesting perspective from all the posts though.

Wynn is great. I think that was my first realization to what good service is like. But the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas is my fav. The weed smell is not my thing but I swear running the bathroom exhaust and opening the sliding door works wonders.

And it’s been a hell of year-I’m more tolerant of its just people needing some fun so I just leave my room to find champagne. Smell you later!

Mandarin Oriental was . My room was not available for early check in, so I went to the spa. When I checked out of the spa, the spa desk had my room keys and had arranged for my luggage to be sent to my room. I think Birthday 2021 starts at Waldorf Astoria to check it out and then ends at Cosmo.
