Degeneracy Before Family - Cosmo/Elara June 27 - July 6

    A couple of years back, my sister and I decided to start a tradition of getting our families together over St Paddy's Day in Vegas. Obviously we haven't be able to do that the past two years, so when we cancelled the last one we set up a get together for July 4th weekend hoping things would work out and fortunately they have. But, of course, we put being degens ahead of family and @MrsIrishDave and I will head to Cosmo before my sister's family arrives and use the family time to recover!

    So here's the not so simple agenda. @MrsIrishDave and I arrive Sun afternoon for four nights at Cosmo. We check into a four bedroom suite at Elara on Wed (one day overlap with Cosmo). We also have a room at Excal (!) Wed-Sat to take advantage of a pretty generous free play/food offer...don't think we'll use that room much though. My daughter arrives Wed afternoon, my sister and her family arrive Thurs evening, and my daughter's boyfriend gets in about midnight Thurs. @MrsIrishDave, my daughter and her boyfriend leave Sun due to work commitments, and my sister's family and I all leave Tues. My sister will be bringing her two oldest, both boys. One is 18 and just graduated high school and the other just turned 16 this week, so we'll be celebrating those two!

    Sun-Thurs afternoon should be the normal VP and whisky fueled trip report, although this will be my first non-group TR in quite a while and, tbh, I think my TRs are getting quite repetitive. Thurs-Tues will be hanging out with the family, so the TR will likely slow down, but we've got some fun stuff planned which I'll do some quick reporting on. I'm also game to try meet up with anyone else who is in town.

    Dinners will include China Poblano, Lemongrass, Jaleo, Zuma, Carbone, Gordon Ramsey Steak, and Javier's. Besides the degeneracy, we've got the Pinball Hall of Fame, Rocky IV for dive-in movies, a family trip to a full-auto shooting range (my nephews are really psyched about that!), and a couple of other things on the calendar.

    Can I survive nine nights in Vegas in the heat of July? Can I survive with limited degeneracy for five of of those nights? I don't know, but I'll keep you all posted. Sounds like Vegas is going to be pretty busy, should be a good time!

    Oh, and just for @Wiscolovesvegas , not having to go to work every day doesn't suck!!

    I can only imagine the number of ticket fills that will be needed for the bartops at Chandy and the Sports Bar over the next week or so with all of the VFers in town, racking up drink tickets like they're going out of style. Safe travels, @IrishDave, and good luck!

    Well… though it will be tough… I suppose I’ll follow this….. only cuz I love @MrsIrishDave ..haha kidding… (I mean I’ve only been texting your countdown for the last couple days). VERY EXCITED, a little jealous and endlessly wishing I was there to help keep you company at chandy!! I want to see serious arm turbulence, no heartbreak and sadness…. A shit ton of drink tickets and a fun, laughter filled adventure !! Your going to have the best time ( well maybe not as great since both myself and @momnkid wont be there) … thanks for saving Blue Ribbon for Oct :)

    I love your reports! I’m sure your family will be glad to help you with your drink tickets. With that many free rooms, unused, will they stay in any of them? That’s what I’d like to do when my husband retires….book multiple rooms and fill them with friends and family. Win big and enjoy your whiskey and trip.
