Good morning, Friends! While I mostly posted on a thread created by @Texas Steph, I thought I'd do a general recap/ observations. Some may be redundant-but I took some notes on my phone this time. They are a little hard to decipher, but I will try my best.

    General Cosmo Service/Check In/ Pool/Etc
First time using the car service after earning platinum. Even if I don't make platinum again, I am just going to ask my host to book. The driver was chatty and met us promptly at the bottom of the escalator. With nothing but our carry ons, we were off into the Escalade. This had me feeling like a boss. Suddenly I forgot about the losses in June. I was super nervous about checking in at 9:30 PM on a Friday night. Particularly since there was so much going on last weekend. I was amazed that the general check in line had a very people and I was able to walk right up to the Invited Guest line. Already, I was winning.

We had great service all around by the cocktail waitresses, Identity staff, and housekeeping. I just can't gush enough. To me, this felt like Vegas. Again, I didn't leave the property so I can't comment on anything else. We had a daybed at Chelsea. We lasted 4.5 hours in the heat. Not too shabby. After all the sweet drinks we did need a brief recovery nap. But great service and vibe at Chelsea.

    Food
I tried my best to remeber to take pics of food before I ate it. This did not go so well because sometimes it was 8 or 9 hours between meals and I was HUNGRY! Here is a run down of where we ate: The Henry, Lardo, Hattie B's, Blue Ribbon, China Poblano, Va Bene, and Zuma. I only made ressies for Blue Ribbon and Zuma--everything else was on the fly and worked out well. So let's talk Zuma a minute....Where have you been all my life? Why have I been neglecting you and your Burning History and Spicy Beef Tenderloin?? We had a great table up against the glass of the kitchen. Those folks that are bringing you that fancy food are hustling--no mistake about it. Zuma may turn into a must do on every single trip. Also, the potato. I mean I shared with hubs, being our anniversary and all, but I wanted it all to myself.

    Gambling
Hubs and I were alone until Sunday--then "the ladies" --mom and aunt--arrived from Park MGM. Like others are reporting out @YOleven @GlenCoco @Mrs2BOBCATS @Mr2BOBCATS .... The family that plays together stays together. We had quite a good time gambling with the ladies. I know there has been talk on the forum of Cosmo being for a younger crowd. Do not tell the ladies that....they order the champs and talk to hosts like they absolutely belong there. Side bar: My mom wandered into the host office the night before check-out and ran into my host. She remembered my mom because she had used my companion nights last year. She was able to help my mom and comped her last night--this made the ladies very happy. Just kudos to my host for making my mom feel like a Boss! :)

Very unusual in our group of 4 there were 2 handpays --one for my mom at the 50 cent bet and one for my aunt at $3. Auntie hit at Cosmo within 2 hours of arrival. No handys for myself or hubs, but we did have some nice hits that allowed us to grind along. The Wonder Four Boost by Identity has two side by side machines. We played there quite a while low rolling and each were "boosted" a few times.

Coin in over four nights was a tick over 23k. We lost about 12% of that. This was much better than the June trip where I had only 17k in and lost like 25%. That is how it goes. I can't complain because as others have said...there is value in the "stay." We had 4 nights in a 1 br with a fountain view on a very busy weekend in Vegas. We ate and drank our share and I do not believe I will have any room charges other than tips. I pushed buttons to the wee hours of the morning. My favorite gambling is when my money lasts a while and I am entertained for hours on end. Definitely had that this trip. I had more coin in on this trip than usual, but I don't think it will change my offers one way or another. My offers are consistently 5 nights on a 1 br with some free play and resort credit. I wish I could stay five nights--but four is it for me. By the time I leave on day 5, I am ready. But I typically have another trip booked---so that keeps my anxiety at bay.

    Return
I am not afraid to admit I am going in August. It may seem like I have a problem, but I really just wanted to use my gold nights because I felt like I've earned them. So..here is how August came about. I had a hunch I'd make platinum in June and I knew I had two gold nights that would expire then. I emailed my host about using those two gold nights in August--one last trip before work started again. She said no problem. I assumed you had to use those gold nights in the 12 month period they were active, but not true. Once I made platinum in June, I had two platinum nights to use. So, I am excited nothing went to waste.

August is a quick two nights with my sister. She loves VP--so I am going to try and play some at the Chandy with her. Sacrifice. :). We also have tickets to Usher. I am hoping to see a few other familiar faces in town too! I think that's it. If you are still reading this--thank you! To all our friends beyond the borders--I hope you are amused by everyone's antics and can get here soon!

Usher should be great! I think he's underrated, to be honest. Safe travels and good luck!

Did you check in with your host to get the room charges wiped? Or do they check it out for you after you leave? I’m never quite sure how this works.

@cherry cordial on my first trip I just went to see the host on duty. After that trip, she became my host! I think she found me somewhat amusing that late in the evening. Now I send her an email when I leave or the next day and have her look at my play and apply any credit, back end, or Identity points. I usually end up with two folios, as the second is revised. This system has worked so far.

Thanks! I just got a host before the pandemic and then haven’t had much of a chance to use them yet.

So appreciate the recap! You are too funny and I feel like we’d get along swimmingly!
Glad you had an amazing birthday (and anniversary!)and even though I’m team skirt steak at Zuma, totally agree with you on that potato!!!

What did you think of Chelsea daybed vs Boulevard? Pros/cons? We’ve only done Boulevard.

This is my second time at Chelsea daybed and I thought it was great. Boulevard can definitely be busy. Chelsea was not that busy and we were in a daybed in front of the hot tub--we were all by ourselves in this area. And, because of our location we definitley had shade. Hubs and I were definitely there to relax. Bonus--I think the Chelsea daybed slightly less expensive. Yes, I am sure we'd get along well. I may have to try the skirt steak--as soon as I am out of my relationship with the spicy beef tenderloin!

Thanks for the recap @Anna T.! I was especially appreciative that you were willing to note your coin-in and what you tend to receive for offers. A couple of weeks ago I put in about $26.5k coin-in in from Sunday 6PM to Tuesday 8AM (I suppose the bookkeepers consider this three days, though), about 60% slots and 40% VP. I am hoping to receive some sort of return offer in the near future, at least with a few free nights.

I went into the host office in the HL gaming room as well before I left and had my $150 or so in charges comped by the host on duty that morning. She also gave me her card and said to call her when I want to return, so I'm actually note sure if I should wait for an e-mail offer, or just call her without having an offer to use.

Thanks @TriggerMN. I try to include that because I think many people on this site are gamblers...maybe all? Mine was all 100% slots--but I don't know how much matters. That seems like quite a bit of coin in for a short time. It probably wouldn't hurt to reach out to the host. My offers have been coming once a month due to frequency. On may last two trips I was able to book both reservations via my host before the offers arrived. Once they arrived, I just let her know the free play and resort credit. I am always of the thought, it never hurts to ask. Good luck! Like I said in my report, my mom is the queen of low rolling, she asks every time and the host usually helps her out. I think she uses her Southern charm or something...I know it isn't her play. LOL...

When it comes to mailer comps, Cosmo uses the "trip method". So you don't have to worry about quitting before 6am or whatever.

I would definitely expect free nights with that amount of play. If the WoF machines you play hold 6%, you'd have a rough theo of $1270 on $26k coin-in with a 60/40 slots/VP split. 8/5 DDB is a 3.21% hold, fyi.

Thanks for the recap @Anna T.! Glad you had a great time!

Okay @tringlomane ...can you explain theo so a non math person understands? Also, what does trip method mean? I am trying to learn more--instead of just slapping buttons and ordering Tito's. Although, that is my jam. I just don't understand how sometimes my play warrants more back end and sometimes not. I feel like I play the same all the time. Thanks!! You can also pm me if you think no one else is interested.... But I am... :)

Thanks @sparkydog! I think probably no judgement on this forum...but in real life I do get a lot people saying, "You are going to Vegas...again?" Can't wait to hear about your August and September adventures!!!

Great recap. There is no judgement here on back to back trips. I went in June and now will be back next week lol, and depending on how that goes may go back in october. Have a great trip in August.

Don't they realize you are on summer break from teaching?? In your shoes, I'd be taking Vegas trips every other week!!

I enjoyed your detailed recap, and I'm so glad you had a great anniversary/birthday/ family time trip! I kinda did one (recap) but meh, I'm getting lazy. I'm also in the camp of appreciating when others post their deets... I'm a bookkeeper for cripes sake but my brain goes foggy when trying to interpret theo and formulas and crap! I've learned to take screen shots before and after my trips, so I can see my coin-in/out, but that helps me none in trying to figure out what sort of offers I should be getting. Beyond thankful I have a host now, that just books me when I want to go!

@Texas Steph yes....I'm on vacation. I can leave without sub plans, seating charts...blah blah...I don't think you are getting lazy. Your trip reports are great. I think sometimes you are reporting for two. @momnkid ?? Lol. I'm impressed you are a bookeeper. I only track coin in. Theo is just a head scratcher. But yes, I mean my host will book me and I will go again.... regardless of the math. Degenerate. I think we are missing each other in August by a day...boo. I'm really considering mid to late October to use the platinum nights and see Rod Stewart. "Do ya Think I'm Sexy" was my first 45...I think I was 6 and it was the prize in a happy meal.....Gonna try to work my magic on hubs. He thinks 6 trips in 12 months is a tad much. I'm like why are you doing math? Engineer vs English teacher....

Happy to tag along for the maths lesson also. No doubt I've not optimised my offers/rewards in the past. I didn't come to Vegas to nit-roll so I just do what I want to do, when I want to do it, but everyone has a number and if I've been leaving a large enough number on the floor each time, might be time to re-visit.

As for theo, isn't it as simple as just what you are expected to lose? For example, if you play $10k at -10% your theo is -$1k, regardless of if you hit a jackpot with it or murdered the $10k in cold blood?
