I was just listening to talk radio and they understood that no tests needed since travelers are vaxxed and it is land border....going to wait for officially info

Just got back from a grocery run at costco so the boys don't starve while we are away - now heading out to get nails done.....starting to feel real.....almost 2 years since our last trip.....so excited

My understanding is that the US won't require a test to enter the US at a land border when the changes come into effect in November. Canada hasn't made any changes and as of now, you would need a negative covid test to come back to Canada via a land /sea/air border.

It’s nuts that you guys in Ontario and Alberta can get a $40 test and the rest of Canada is stuck paying $120 or more.

I'm betting I'm not the only one who is hoping this changes very, very soon. In all honesty, the most effective strategy would be for a rapid test after arriving in a different country, instead of before leaving. Something in the 12-24 hours after arrival and 4-5 days after arrival. In other countries these tests cost as little $1, so even making the traveler pay for it make sense. For air travel, also add a quick rapid test at the airport before going through security.

I paid $75 for rapid antigen but when I called to book again for our Christmas trip they said they now only offer PCR at $265 per person. I booked like a sucker but will shop around for cheaper and cancel.

Not sure if people saw this but I guess at start of October Walmart pharmacies started doing $20 rapid tests.

Ontario and Alberta only it looks like.

Thanks for the heads up. I have my preflight test scheduled for Shopper's on Tuesday for $40. I call Walmart tomorrow to see if I can get an appointment there instead.

We are poor and the good people at shoppers know we cannot afford those expensive tests.
