So, I'm very slowly losing weight but I'll take it. Since the middle of June, I'm now down 22lbs. Need to drop another 100 at least probably but I'll take it. Been making my own lunches and dinners instead of buying them. Lots of vegetables with brown rice and some salmon and/or chicken mixed in. I'm averaging about 1-1.5 lbs per week which I think is healthy.

    Weigh In this morning.......

229.4 lbs...... Last weigh in on Sept. 19th, 2 weeks ago, I weighed 235.2..... Finally broke the 230 lb mark.. Last time that I was under 230 lbs. I was 14 years old. seriously.!!!!!!

I didn't expect much weight loss today. I decided to weigh myself every 2 weeks ... Weighing every day was driving me nuts...
I have been eating more calories (about 250 more per day) and more smoothies....so my expectations today were low...I'm now losing weight at a slower pace as my RMR # has been lowered...

The big difference, I think, is about 2 weeks ago I started adding Chlorella every day.... Chlorella removes all the metals in excess that we have stored in our bodies from years of bad eating and drinking soda... These metals are bad for us and also harbor fat cells...

so, since March 1st, 217 days, I've lost 116.6 lbs... not too shabby... I'm hoping on 220 lbs by Halloween and 212 lbs by Thanksgiving...

Boy, I wish that I could start life all over again as a thin man..!!!!!!! If you can, get the Chlorella... It is a SUPERFOOD made from fresh water algae.. I get the powder and put it in my smoothies...

    copy and paste.. Chlorella...

Chlorella is a powerful detoxification aid for heavy metals and other pesticides. Numerous research projects in the U.S. and Europe indicate that chlorella can also aid the body in breaking down persistent hydrocarbon and metallic toxins such as mercury, cadmium and lead, DDT and PCB while strengthening the immune system response. In Japan, interest in chlorella has focused largely on its detoxifying properties - its ability to remove or neutralize poisonous substances from the body. Chlorella is a food. As such, it is almost impossible to take too much chlorella.

It is also this fibrous material which greatly augments healthy digestion and overall digestive track health.

How Does Chlorella Detoxify Your Body?

Chlorella is comprised of a fibrous, indigestible outer shell (20%) and its inner nutrients (80%). It is the fibrous material which has been proven to actually bind with the heavy metals and pesticides - such as PCBs - which can accumulate in our bodies.

A clean bloodstream, with an abundance of red blood cells to carry oxygen, is necessary to a strong natural defense system. Chlorella's cleansing action on the bowel and other elimination channels, as well as its protection of the liver, helps keep the blood clean. Clean blood insures that metabolic wastes are efficiently carried away from the tissues.

Chlorella gets its name from the high amount of chlorophyl it possesses. Chlorella contains more chlorophyl per gram than any other plant. Chlorophyl is one of the greatest food substances for cleansing the bowel and other elimination systems, such as the liver and the blood.

Green algae are the highest sources of chlorophyl in the plant world. And of all the green algae studied so far, chlorella has the highest, often ranging from 3 to 5% pure natural chlorophyll.

I've also added lentils to my 69 bean soup...... They add even more nutrition and have more fiber than even the 13 beans..... I get the bob's Red Mill lentils....

I now call it 69 Bean ""STEWP"",,, that is a mixture of soup and stew equals 69 Bean STEWP....I make the soup and add 1 small can tomato paste, 1/2 cup lentils, 1 large white onion cut up, 2 cups cut up baby carrots, 2 cups peas, 2 cups green beans,, 1 cup cauliflower, cut up Red Bell Peppers, 3 cloves garlic ground in a garlic press, lots of habanero pepper sauce, jalapeno pepper, black pepper, cayenne pepper, chili pepper.... This makes enough for 5 nites of Stewp...

    copy and paste... lentils...

    1. Lower Cholesterol
Lentils help to reduce blood cholesterol since it contains high levels of soluble fiber. Lowering your cholesterol levels reduces your risk of heart disease and stroke by keeping your arteries clean.

    2. Heart Health
Several studies have shown that eating high fiber foods like lentils reduces your risk of heart disease. Lentils are also a great source of folate and magnesium, which are big contributors to heart health. Folate lowers your homocysteine levels, a serious risk factor for heart disease. Magnesium improves blood flow, oxygen and nutrients throughout the body. Low levels of magnesium have been directly associated with heart disease, so eating lentils will keep your heart happy!

    3. Digestive Health
Insoluble dietary fiber found in lentils helps prevent constipation and other digestive disorders like irritable bowel syndrome and diverticulosis.

    4. Stabilized Blood Sugar
Adding to the many benefits of fiber, soluble fiber traps carbohydrates, slowing down digestion and stabilizing blood sugar levels. This can be especially helpful for those with diabetes, insulin resistance or hypoglycemia.

    5. Good Protein
Of all legumes and nuts, lentils contain the third-highest levels of protein. 26 percent of lentil’s calories are attributed to protein, which makes them a wonderful source of protein for vegetarians and vegans.

    6. Increases Energy
Lentils increase steady, slow-burning energy due its fiber and complex carbohydrates. Lentils are also a good source of iron, which transports oxygen throughout your body and is key to energy production and metabolism.

    7. Weight Loss
Although lentils include all these beneficial nutrients like fiber, protein, minerals and vitamins, they are still low in calories and contain virtually no fat. One cup of cooked lentils only contains about 230 calories, but still leaves you feeling full and satisfied.

So hot back last night from las vegas. I arrived with a sore throat and a cold. Great...
Weighed in and unlike my pal dvandentop I gained. I gained 5.3 lbs and that was with watching what I ate and walking everywhere. Just goes to show how decadent the food is. Everyone who was with me will tell you I was being careful. I'm ok with that. No problem. I'll take it off and more starting today. I guess I could have gained 10lbs if i didn't watch.
69 bean soup here I come.
Willie in our of products already. Need a different protein powder? Any suggestions? Ty

Most of your weight gain was from sodium... I saw the food photos and chef's cook with tons of salt... Double up on the ACV and lemon juice, eat extra cucumbers ( I put cuccumbers in my smoothie)..... They are a natural diuretic.... You will lose 4 to 7 lbs. in one week.... It takes about 15 days for the huge sodium intake to really effect ketosis on a hard level

For protein, why not stick with the Garden of Life that you had..?

If you wish to switch, here is a decent whey based protein ...

Packer, I see you are now striving for 215..... good move.... 6'5" and 215 is Awesome...... Me I want to settle at 222 at 6'10".... I do want to get down to 210 before my Vegas trip so I can gain weight and not suffer too much.... your 5.3 lb weight gain scares me.... I can gain 20 lbs in 12 days when I go in December...
Try the Chlorella powder I wrote about here yesterday.... It has really helped me get over my plateaus......

    Thank You,,,
and yes I am proud somewhat...I didn't want to die a fat guy.... Being around 350 lbs. and more for 40 years took a toll on me....MY only WIN during those years was marrying my wife...
I'm not as wealthy financially as many on here seem to be.... I'm your average middle class guy...... but I was VERY WEALTHY in the fact that I was married for decades to my best-friend Sweetheart..... So, I was very wealthy in that regard..

I tell people that haven't seen me in a long time that I am Willie's brother and Willie died from obesity. THEY BELIEVE ME.....I'm very vain now.... I like wearing clothes that fit tight and there are no tires hanging on my belly when I tighten the belt....

I see some of the "mature" babes checking me out at the grocery store. There is even a woman from another forum e-mailing me and maybe wants to meet me in Vegas...I'll have to think on that one. I've been single for 8 years now...
People shouldn't fall for me just because i'm exceedingly handsome now..!! lol..lol..lol

copy and paste about hot spices and metabolism... I now put jalapeno powder, cayenne pepper powder, hot chile powder, black pepper, and habanero pepper sauce in my 69 Bean soup....

    copy and paste..

It has long been thought that spicy foods help to speed up your metabolism, but the information on how and how long has been varied and remained somewhat unclear. It is thought the main element that gives chilis their heat - capsaicin - is responsible for creating this effect, as it creates heat generation and raises body temperature upon consumption.

    Capsaicin and Its Effects

Capsaicin is the source from which hot peppers get their heat. It is found in jalapenos, habaneros, cayenne, and most other chili peppers as a colorless compound. Along with its slimming effects, capsaicin is shown to work as a blood thinner, helping to prevent blood clots. Studies targeted on nations where chilis are consumed heavily, such as Thailand, have shown that people that regularly eat hot peppers have a greatly reduced incidence of many blood clotting diseases. Capsaicin is also thought to work as an anti-inflammatory and help to control pain.

since this is a thread about health, let's include our pets' health too....

Here is a site that I used when I had my dogs and I tell people about it all the time...

It is an independent University study of all dry dog foods, you enter your current dog food and it gives you the rating and the pros and cons....
You can also see the reviews of the best dog foods.... I used Acana Grasslands and Acana Pacifica...

Packer, as you know, many read this thread but choose not to post, some do... Weight loss is a difficult subject to discuss as is sex, religion, and politics....

But we do have folks reading and we are all learning and that is a good thing...

Packer, please share with all of us (posters and non posters) your thoughts on the Ninja you bought a month ago....
please tell us how you use it and what you add in it and if you love this Ninja...... I love my Ninja.... I think it is the 3rd best invention ever after toilets and air conditioning..lol..
We absorb 97% of the fruits and veggies in it compared to 60 to 65% of the whole fruit and veggie) due to the nutrients are made molecular in the smoothie... Share with @dvandentop and all of us your feelings about your Ninja please...TY

Yup, it's time for me to get back at it as well. For me getting started is always the hardest part, that first week is so tough. But, once I'm losing weight it is so easy to keep at it. In all honesty I have probably lost well over 250lbs since I have turned 18. loose 30 here, gain it back plus 10, lose 50, gain it all back plus 10...that has been my life for the last 20+ years LOL one constant struggle with it. Every time I say this will be the time I keep it off, hopefully it will be. I's hard, but it's doable.
