Grazie - Status Points

    I am pretty sure I know the answer to my question but thought I would put it out to the brain trust here on VF.

    I was going through the Grazie program and trying to understand how table players move up in Status (Grazie --> Gold --> Platinum). From what I can tell, table players do not earn status points (or any points for that matter).

    If that is the case, how do table players ever move up in status?

    My host got back to me tonight and said that table players don't receive points, so they don't move up in tier status.

    The only way they can move up is if a host approves it based on their play- Gold may be a player who loses 10-20K per trip, Platinum is more like 50-100K.

    I suggest playing penny slots, or paying for your own limo, lol! Incredible the difference between table players and slot players!

    Thanks for the information. I had a feeling it was up to the host discretion but if it based on loss, then that isn't going to happen. I was hoping it was more based on theo (as is their slots/VP). Looks like more video poker for me at V/P and less table play.

    Yeah I'm a tables only player and I still have the purple card and zero points.

    Grazie has taken good care of me though. I'd be fine with just rooms and some food/bev. I get that plus a little promo chips or match play. I don't have a traditional host and at first I wished I had one. But after reading so many stories on hosts who are unresponsive and/or pushy about playing the required time and amounts I'm just fine with marketing offers and having a marketing rep or whatever there to help me. She will tweak the standard offers from time to time and apply back end comps if deserved.

    If my play ever declined there then it's on me and likely a conscious choice to focus elsewhere. If they ever did assign me one then that's cool - I just won't seek one out. I figure my average bets of $175+ in craps and $200ish on blackjack are getting me what that level of play deserves.

    Another Grazie points question .... how can you tell how you earn certain points? I checked on the machine after playing but not sure if some points are from coin in versus charges and the different points seemed to be different counts ...

    Here is one of my first sessions.

    You get points for every $1 of THEO earned, so countdown will vary per machine depending on the slot hold.

    Each card level gives you a different number of points per $1 of Theo.

    Confusing, huh?!?

    Also, the points don't seem to move I found while hitting the spin button, just the countdown. You have to remove the card, then re-insert to see what your updated total is.

    What is the difference in earning Status and Slot Reward points?

    The status points are the ones that go towards tier score and don't reduce until they get re-set for the year.

    The slot reward ones can be redeemed for either resort credit or slots credit (freeplay) and don't get wiped out at the end of year. You must have had some from previous play that as still active on your card and carried forward!

    So they are earned at the same rate. Right?

    Do you have any idea when suite charges that are paid for get posted for points? If not, no biggie as I will check with Lauren.

    I think it's pretty quick, like within 24 hours. Do you have your Grazie account set up for online viewing? If so, when you log on, it will give you your total number of points but will also show the breakdown from casino and hotel spending- you should be able to confirm there if the numbers have hit!

    Last time I was there in January my host said it takes up to 3 days for room charges converted to points to show up on Grazie account

    At the end of the day it doesn't matter. I have been comped free rooms at the Venetian/palazzo for the last 3 years. 3 free nights a month/ cruise offers and gift offers and I am still a purple card tier. I only play baccarat and play about 10k a trip.
