I did a couple of searches on this and couldn't find anything, Maybe I missed it but I'll ask anyway.

What, in your opinion, is the best Las Vegas Restaurant for an anniversary dinner?

Mrs. P and I will be celebrating our 19th during our August trip. We're not a "romantic" type of couple, but I do like to surprise her with a nice, romantic thing from time to time. I was thinking about a dinner along those lines but since we don't normally roll like that I'm a little stumped.

Reminder: She has Celiac so I'll have to confirm the place can accommodate gluten free. Steak houses are usually good, Asian restos can be a problem because of soy/fish/oyster sauce etc.

    Thanks in advance.

For classy romantic there Prime and SW that have fountain/lake shows. Of course there are a plethora of good steak places in Vegas.

For cheesy romantic there is Casa di Amore which is off the beaten path. They will pick you up in limo. There is old school Vegas live music and interesting people watching. Dancing if you please. Food is slightly above average though. A few nights they have 1/2 price wine bottles. Add a nice piece of jewelry or a show with that meal.

To me, the restaurant with the ideal balance of food and ambiance is Twist by Pierre Gagnaiere.
Innovative food that is informed by molecular gastronomy, but is classic at the same time. Perfectly-pitched service, never over-stuffy. And the room is beautiful, with a very nice mid-Strip view.

Also Alize and Le Cirque as my runners-up.

I would've mentioned Carbone but it seems like Italian is a gluten paradise since there are so many noodle type dishes.

You're right. A LOT of Italian places offer gluten free pasta which is good. We ate at Carbone a couple of trips ago and enjoyed it. But they did have to perform some culinary gymnastics to provide gluten free options. Needless to say the tip was substantial for all that effort.

After reading all of the responses here I'm leaning steak house. Mrs. P. loves here a good steak, medium rare with a side of sauteed mushrooms and some fries. The idea of a fountain view is pretty cool as well.

If a steakhouse, I think Prime ticks all the boxes. The setting is a given, and the food matches. I had my first meal there in '99, and it's as good as ever.

How about The Top of the World I know the food might not be as good as some of the other restaurants but you can't beat the view.

Lots of great choices. Celebrating 19 years today for us. Hubby asked if I am going to surprise him with a Vegas Vacation as a gift. We just got back and he's already itching to again!!

We have only eaten at Carbone of those mentioned above. Many noted are on our list. Look forward to hearing what you decide....i think you are leaning towards Prime?

We celebrated our anniversary in April at Charlie Palmer's at the Four Seasons. It was a Monday night and there was a jazz trio entertaining.

Love Charlie Palmer's. I think it's possibly the most underrated, as far as hype and buzz go, which is probably a good thing, steakhouses in town...

I am leaning toward Prime. Mrs. P doesn't know this, (and she doesn't read the board so I'm safe) but I'm planning on re-proposing and the fountains as a backdrop would be pretty damn cool.

I might even do the full Chevy Chase thing. Minus the fake crying probably.

My husband and I dined at Eiffel Tower a few years ago. I booked a reservation for sunset. Most of the tables with the view seat only 2. The service before we arrived was excellent. We were there for his Birthday. I called to make the reservation and was sent a confirmation email. About a week prior and the day before I was called to see if I wanted anything like a cake or flowers on the table. We didn't do that but I did request a photo - it is one of my favorites. It has the Paris Balloon in the backdrop. I was also encouraged to call for any special requests. The food was wonderful - we both got some kind of steak and dessert Banana Soufflé. Service was excellent. I don't know how it stacks up against other Swanky Restaurants/Steak Houses in Vegas-- watching the sunset from our table- the lights come on and then the fountains was great. The service was excellent- we felt like we were they were catering to our every need- but at same time not pushy. They also have a gluten free menu.

Or it may be a great place for ore or post cocktails at the bar.

I agree with Valgal - the Eiffel Tower is a fantastic place with a wonderful
view. I thought their steak was very good and their chocolate souffle' was
unreal. I think it would be a great place for you to propose again - so romantic.

My two most recent experiences at Prime have been fantastic. And the fountain views are awesome.
