I am so happy for you, @New York Lady. You have been through so much over the past year, so it is wonderful to know you are delighting in your new life and new love. Thinking back to the heartbreak of earlier in the year, losing your husband, dealing with the greedy in-laws, the stress of a clearing out a home full of stuff that wasn't yours to begin with, and the move back to the state you love, your journey is sounding like a Hallmark movie. The universe certainly has plans for you!

Good to hear life is moving in the right direction. Not sure when you are headed to AC but there is a great location to eat at not in the Casinos. It is actually off the GSP exit 40 South bound. Congratulations on your new love. I too have been off the grid for most of the time. Work is killing me. But heading to Tahoe then Vegas in just about a week. I'm so excited. I hope I am not too exhausted to enjoy it. Right now all I want to do is sleep.

Ok so how do you deal with bullies of your children? My thoughts are the rotten little shits are the product of shitty ass parents! I’m literally steaming after some events yesterday involving my son. Is it bad I want to call the mothers and tell them to meet me at the flag pole after school? My husband is a black belt in Tae Kwan Do or however you spell it and was an instructor in PA. He decided to sign my son and daughter up for karate class last night. He’s going to take it with them. This IS really going to get interesting. Lol

 

I agree that bullies are most likely the product of shitty parenting. Unfortunately, sometimes it starts out in elementary/ middle school and never ends... there are more adult bullies out there than I would have thought. (my son has Aspergers and is 25, and still gets teased by people his own age, sadly most of them are female).

I think all you can really do is talk to your kids; let them know they are loved, provide encouragement, and be supportive. I think the karate class is a good idea so that they don't feel defenseless.

Its weird cuz it’s the girls his age that always defend my son and befriend him. When we got to the school for a concert the other day, a little girl saw us walk in and she walked up grabbed his hand and said,”Come on Jax let’s go to our classroom.” He didn’t even say bye to us, just walked off holding hands with the little girl in his class. There is a couple boys in particular who have been little assholes. The other day he came home and told me they spit on him and called him a retard. He asked me what it meant. I lied....he asked if they were just playing and I said yes and if they do it again to play back by punching him in the face. I’ll take whatever consequences come with it. I’m going to school today for a meeting and it’s not going to be pretty.

A good ass kicking or punch in the face will always shut up a bully. They thrive on the fact that the ones they are bulling are to scared to stand up for themselves. Your son punching them in the face is worth what ever punishment he may get from the school.
