Hi just wondering what general consensus on slots was wondering if any casino's seem fairer than others for getting longer play for your money .
    Cosmo ,CET ,Mlife ?

Reason l ask is last year while staying in Bally's for 7 days we had virtually no luck ,$100 was just getting hoovered up playing around $2 a spin, was playing games like Buffalo Gold,The Walking Dead ,Quick Hits.

We mainly stay close to whatever property we stay so Bally's would of getting most of our play .

I watch Matt Bridger vlogs and see the decent Bonus's he hits we literally didn't get any good Bonus wins ,maybe 1 or 2 at most .

Maybe its the sort of machines we were playing , or maybe we just had bad luck ,we have another 7 nights booked and if different strategy worked or property worked better I'd be all for trying .

    Thanks for reading .

I don't really have a slot a rely on for good bonuses. Britney was always good to me when I tried it, but I assumed that was pure luck over a tiny sample. I play VP 98% of the time.

Keep in mind that Matt is likely playing hours a day to show you all those bonuses. The more you play, the more bonus rounds you'll get. But definitely doesn't mean you'll be ahead though.

I’m sure everyone who reads my posts is sick of hearing me say this.....but for my money, Treasure Island is the place I get the most bang for my buck....and no...I’m not a stockholder or employed by them! I’ve posted stats in other threads Regarding this, but over three trips in 2017, my losses were about 1% of coin in and that’s with about 65 hours of play. Their rooms are only adequate and the restaurant choices are lower-end. They are more generous with free play than any others I know of and they have free parking if you need it. They don’t charge me resort fees.
If you are in Vegas for 7 days, I would recommend signing up for the TI players club and spending about 4 hours there each of 2 days. You’ll get offers from them that will at least give you a choice for your next trip. IM me if you want the name of a host.

In fairness, I think Buffalo Gold, Walking Dead and Quick Hits are all pretty high volatility games that can eat up your bankroll real fast. I've found that Anchorman, Britney Spears, and Texas Tea all let me play for a long time.

I don't think there is a huge difference between the casinos on the strip. This time last year I might have said MB was the best - I had a $2k profit from 110,000 coin in on one trip. But this was followed by two trips where the return was under 80%. Just a matter of luck...

Thanks for the reply's , I play a small bit of Video Poker but get bored after an hour or so .

I'll definitely give TI a try ,its a hotel we haven't been in yet ,l don't mind losing the gambling bankroll it just seemed last trip we didn't even get any run for the money at all,if you max bet on penny slots 300 could be gone in 15 mins in Bally's last year .

    MB another l haven't visited :)

It is really easy to rationalize spending your bank roll as you chase the “dragon”. Knowing what we know now, if the slots are running cold, we go to another resort, stop spending or make gambling less About our trip.

I cannot comment about CET properties as we have moved on to Mlife properties, Wynncore, or Cosmo. As mentioned above the higher volatile slots proved bigger risk/rewards. We have also change the denomination of our be slots we play.

Myself and a good friend had huge success at Paris last year, but only in their HL room. Combined we took them for about $30k in our two sessions there. I'm sure that magic won't last, but it was a lot of fun!

Slot returns are dwindling across the board. Payback being the last, great unlockable mystery it seems. In my experience it doesn't matter where on the Strip you play any more, there's little difference between them so find the games you like and pay to be entertained.

I'm not even entirely convinced that downtown is much looser on slots, and primarily gets it's perceived bump from better VP paytables. (Something discussed at length on another thread not too long ago)

Besides a shift to more penny slots on the casino floor, payback percentages have been eroding the last 10 years. Just look at the number of higher denomination slots 5 years ago vs penny's today in the gaming statistics. Not to mention theoretical hold reported. You also have a lot more progressive Jackpots on slots which means the payback percentage is weighted by the progressive amount. That means line hits pays are a much smaller amount, especially when you have these large number of multi-line games.

I think it has become much harder to hit bigger wins on the newer inventory of games, or even getting time in seat. Looking at my hand pays last year, half of them were on older aristocrat games that came out around 2005 and 2006. The guys on the YouTube posting their bonus wins are supplementing their gambling budget with either channel revenue or fools willing to pay them to gamble via Patreon donations.

BTW Danny Ocean said it best: "Because the house always wins. Play long enough, you never change the stakes, the house takes you. Unless, when that perfect hand comes along, you bet big, and then you take the house." I'll add to that quote, "and then you walk away."

I'll agree with you on that. The strip has been bad for over 10 years now, especially on lower denominations. The only games that still aren't too bad is if you play $5 denominations and up. Those seem to be about the same anywhere in Nevada. My guess is the strip resorts don't wan't to risk losing their high rollers.

Downtown used to be better until about 5 years ago, but if you look at their penny slots, they are just as bad as the strip now. They just have higher paybacks on nickles/quarters/dollars, which I suspect is all from video poker. I haven't been seeing the ads as much anymore saying "downtown has looser slots"

I love reading these reports that come out quarterly- looking at the 12 month average for a better picture- http://gaming.nv.gov/modules/showdocument.aspx?documentid=12725 Takes some time to look at but worth it.

What's sad is the off strip properties- while still better, have dropped off as well. Those used to be some of the best places in the country for payback percentages, but they are just a point above strip odds now.

Laughlin is as bad as the strip too.

The only places that are good and have even been improving are the northern parts of the state. Reno is great, and some of the other small counties nearby with the exception of Tahoe have some really good payback odds now.

Many of the newer penny slot are so high variance it just depends on how hot or cold you’re running that day. I’ve played Lightning Link and hit bonus after bonus but then I’ve also hit cold streaks of many dead spins or getting not even a tenth of my bet back. But people seem to love the ability to win a huge jackpot for only $1 bet. For slots I’ve been easing into higher denom old school 3 reel slots. I’ll start slow at $1 denom and if I’m feeling good go up to $2 and $5 slots feeling fancy in the high limit room.

Thanks all ,I'll try dollar slots maybe playing a max bet of $3 on them would seem to be better than a $3 bet on penny slots .

I don't mind losing bankroll just over a longer amount of time I'd be happy with :).

We are getting 5 nights comped and free drinks whiling playing its common sense someone has to pay for it l suppose .

Personally I'd be happy just playing blackjack while in Vegas but the wife only plays slots so cant leave her on her own all the time .

    I should add...

Having the benefit of this website and subsequent high limit room threads, we both intend on playing in the high limit rooms in Cosmo and Venetian :)

Tell your wife to play the old 3 reel quarter slots at 75 cents a pull. Blazing 7's, quick hits, even the butterfly one has decent potential. If they still have any 5 times pay or 10 times pay those are worth trying as well.

    Good Luck!

from my experience from 7 trips in 3 years: Golden Nugget paid me best, 4 Queens, MGM, Mirage, Bellagio, Cosmo, Venetian, Planet Hollywood all paid about the same. I've never had a winning experiance at The Wynn.

The best way I’ve heard slots described is they “They are like quicksand. The harder you try to dig yourself out the deeper you get in”

Although people do hit. The vast majority just throw money away as fast as they can feed it in the machine.

Well that and the variance has seems to be jacked up on a lot of new slots so (at least me) I lose my BR before I get that big hit. Get a lot less even money or 2x bet wins but a lot more "wins" of half a bet or less.

    Well them and foosball...

    YES, THIS!!!

"fools willing to pay them to gamble via Patreon donations."

I don't understand why anyone would sign up to support a slot Patreon group?

Agree with general consensus that everything has gotten tighter and it's best to just play slots you enjoy. Don't expect to win. Just play for entertainment and stay within your budget and hope to get some good play on machines you enjoy playing.
