Last December we spontaneously grabbed a limo at the airport. There was an area with 5-6 lined up outside baggage claim. We are thinking about doing it again for our upcoming trip but we will be arriving around 11:15 PM. Does anyone know if they’ll have limos available at that hour?

Was it cheaper than reserving in advance? If reserved they will meet you at baggage claim and carry your bags.

About the same price. We have people coming in on 3 separate flights and to 2 terminals, and I’m not sure how long it’ll take for us to all get bags and find each other, so I’m reluctant to pre-arrange and have the clock start ticking when the (scheduled) latest flight lands.

In my experience they're always there, you shouldn't have an issue regardless of time.

Price is basically the same, but you've got some leeway to negotiate with the guys just sitting around

If anything they're more likely to be sitting around late at night, I think. My vague recollection (I haven't gotten an airport or porte cochere limo in a long, long time) is that they're a little cheaper than pre-arranging, but not markedly so, and you lose out on the ability to have the guy come greet you and help with your bags. That said, if people are coming into separate terminals, it might be much easier (and cheaper) to just grab cabs and meet at the hotel.

It would definitely be easier, but we want to give our nephew the experience of arriving in a limo, and the other 2 people, who are my husband's coworkers (that a whole other story itself!!) have never been there before and he wants to kind of "look out for" them. In fact, one of them has never even been on a plane before!

So, it seemed like if the 5 of us could share a limo it might be a win/win. We are all staying at the same place.

Thanks for the replies, I think we will roll the dice and make finding a limo our first gamble of the trip.

One trick you can do is to instruct the driver to be ready 15-20 minutes after your plane lands.

They'll do that for you and the clock won't start until your prescribed time.

I distinctly remember long ago I was able to negotiate price. The last three or so times, they were unwilling to budge and said it was a set price. No leeway to negotiate.

I feel like that was BS though.
