Due to my favorite host ending up at Red Rock, making my first visit there in late November for a few nights. I normally stay at Aria in a Penthouse SkySuite, so this will be a change. My trips are mainly low key, so I don’t think I’ll mind being somewhat away from the strip, and I do have access to their fleet of SUVs whenever I need. Some details about my trip:

    Flights:
Delta economy comfort from JFK. Booked this last minute, so couldn’t get a first class seat on either AA or Delta. Taking Delta because it’s a 757 and the times work out better.

    Hotel:
Staying at Red Rock this time. My host has me in the Top of the Rock suite, which is a 2br 4400sqft suite on their penthouse level. It looks pretty amazing. Taking my two friends, although sticking one of them in a standard room as he needs his own space. I will try to take many pictures and post them when I get there.

    Gaming:
I’m mainly a BJ player, so that’s what I’ll be sticking with. I only play alone with a dealer, two hands, and play a progressive betting strategy. I increase my bets by 1/2 a unit when I win, and go back to a base bet if I lose. Im just looking to catch some streaks. It worked quite well for me on my five trips last year and one this year, so why change anything? I’ll play some roulette, craps, VP and an occasional slot, but I’m there to play BJ. We also plan to play in a poker tourney or two, but haven’t figured out where we will head for that yet

    Entertainment:
I’ll have access to the movie theatre skyboxes, but doubt I’ll take advantage of those. Instead, I definitely plan to take advantage of the VIP bowling alleys. I’ve been told my butler will get me anything I want, so Palace Station Pan Roast or in-n-out are definitely possibilities

    Spa:
Have a massage booked for me, and being nice to one of my friends and getting them one as well

    Food:
Since I’m RFB, most meals will be at Red Rock. We’ll enjoy the steakhouse and Italian joint, as well as the other options. I’ve requested some amenities for my room and am hopeful they can deliver on my request for daily deliveries of cannolis and key lime pie.

    Winning:
I plan to win while playing BJ and hope to bring home several of these denominations, or at least the Red Rock equivalent

I can’t say that I’m not nervous about Red Rock, but I’ve toured this suite before and it’s incredible, I have the best host I’ve ever worked with, and it’s Vegas, I’m guaranteed to have a good time.

Beebs. If thst is your idea of being low key I would have heart attack when you go hi key. Christ! That is some serious chip porn.
If you can, do share memorable hands during this trip. You must have some fun story to tell about what happened to you...or your friend. ;)

    Best of luck!

You make an excellent point! Low key for me means that I won’t be running around everywhere this trip and won’t be staying up until 4am. I’m going to try to relax as much as possible.

Will try to share as many hands as possible if they let me take pictures. I had some really good ones last trip, but Aria always balks at taking pictures. This goes back about a year and a half, but here’s one from Cosmo that I took before they yelled at me. It’s cut off, but the dealer went bust.

    That is one Beau-Ti-Ful pic!
I can almost hear the heart pumping fast then a huge fist pumps!

Your low key vac sounds great. I liked the pan roast from Palace Station. I think their secret is a bit of asian fish sauce based
flavoring. Very tasty indeed and waiting for 2 hrs made it exceptionally good.

Good luck. Looking forward to following!

The steakhouse has some, or at least had some, Australian A5 Wagyu that is fantastic. Also, the floor that they do events at such as the Super Bowl, I think on the 3rd floor, has a nice patio if the weather warms up. A nice place to go get some sun, and get out of the casino to relax. The high limit room is fairly private. A former host of mine went there as well. I think he's director of player development, or something.

I'd probably not stay there again, but I have nothing bad to say about Red Rock. I had wanted to play some high limits baccarat and smoke a cigar one morning. They had said they were having some bigger players that morning, and preferred I didn't smoke. Then they offered to drive me anywhere I wanted to go. That was pretty generous, and as such, I just had them bring me to Palace Station, since both are Stations casinos. So I'm playing at Palace Station, and they come over and ask if I wanted breakfast. I took them up on that and asked for extra bacon, which is exactly what I got. About a metric ton of bacon. I get back to Red Rock and they go out of their way to apologize, and let me know for the rest of the day I can play and smoke cigars.

It's a different Las Vegas experience, and although I wouldn't personally do it again, I have not one negative thing to say about that place. They really took care of me for not a lot of play.

This is great info, thanks so much for sharing your experience. I had a cigar issue at Aria in their high limit lounge, I wanted to play BJ without cigar smoke being blown at me, but there were 7 guys sitting at a lounge table drinking water and smoking, and they wouldn’t do anything. Not only did I walk away and they lose my play, another player with a $1 million credit line was turned away. Apparently it’s a big issue in that room, as it’s one of the only places that allow cigar smoking.

I wouldn’t be going to Red Rock without this host, he was just that good, so figured I owe it to him to give it a try. It doesn’t hurt that he has me setup in this suite that looks pretty incredible.

I wouldn’t share his same on a public forum. Used to work for Cosmo. When he left, his replacement was terrible and I haven’t been back. I’m relatively low maintenance, I don’t ask for a lot, but I do expect when I send an email or text I get a response back in a reasonable amount of time. Can’t say the new host at Cosmo did that, and Aria is the worst.

Agree. Don’t get me started. I’d never hire 3/4ths of these guys as sales or customer service employees. But the good ones are good, and actually care. They understand who the customer is, and how they derive their income / revenue. I do respect those guys.

I was one and done at both Aria and Cosmo. I probably should give them another try. But I did not like the energy in either place. At all.

If you’re a steak guy Beebs, make sure you try that Australian Wagyu.

Wynn was actually the worst for me. For me, I get everything taken care of on the front end. My bill ends up just being tips. Yet, I check out of Wynn after three nights and see a $225 bill for WiFi access. They claim that since my room is comped and I didn’t pay a resort fee, they have to charge me. They had me using 8 different devices on one day alone (I don’t have 8). After way too much time fighting, they finally remove it from the bill. My host says next time, pay the resort fee and you won’t have this issue. I told him next time he can wave to me down the street at Aria. It’s amazing how bad the customer service is at these places. I go to Aria because I just feel comfortable and really like it there (and I keep winning, 4 of my last 5 trips), but, I hate when I see smaller players than me get greeted by their host and treated well, while my crappy one doesn’t seem to even know I exist.

I actually was going to give MGM a try, met a host that I thought was good, and had a trip booked in March for a 1br SkyLoft. He was responsive, made all my arrangements, I was extremely happy. I had a 7am flight out on Saturday morning from NY, so 10pm the night before, I just check my confirm and my sky loft is gone and I now have a west wing king. I call him (at least he picks up), he said he’d look into it, claims that some ReMax conference booked my room as a revenue payer, they bumped me, and this is what they put me in. He’d try to get me moved to a better room in the morning. I told him not to bother, actually got my Aria guy to pickup a call, and had a 1br penthouse SkySuite and a regular king room (for my friend) booked within 15 mins. MGM won’t get me back either. I’m running out of places, just because I want some sort of customer service.

I’ve never been a big fan of Australian beef, but may have to give it a try again on your recommendation.

Well, if you don’t like the beef, I’m going to feel guilty. For maybe half a minute. So get what you want.

You want to hear crazy? I loved the high limit room at Hard Rock. That’s where I met my red rock guy at. Moved almost exclusively downtown. Golden Nugget. Then that place changed. Treasure Island. Same deal. It changed. Hardly ever played CET or MGM. Started fairly recently. I hate the cigarette smoke at Gold Coast and Palace Station, but I’ll drive to, and play at both places to get away when the I’ve had my limit of uppity douche baggery. Big shot guys that can’t tip a valet or housekeeping. I go down to the cigar store by Golden Steer and play a card game there. Even when I stayed at Paris, I’d go over to a mini table at Bally’s and have them turn it into a midi game and play alone. There is no one over in that area, and in a lot of ways it’s more private than the high limits at Paris. And Bally’s is a trashy place, but hey, I’m in Las Vegas, I’m single, and I really like that trashy vibe.

I have my pick for Super Bowl weekend, and at this point I’ll probably just stay at Harrahs.

Being nice to the employees and tipping goes a long way at these places.

I could not care less. I’ll get a shave from the barber at ElCo or Gold Coast when I get in town, and look like a bum for the rest of the weekend. I take the host stuff almost completely out of the equation, and if I get treated poorly, I just stop playing and Gold Coast is happy to have me.

If you’ve never tried some second tier casino, you should give it a shot for half a day.

Especially you, as it sounds like you prefer to play alone.

I will only play alone. If somebody else comes to the table, I’ll just get up and leave, no matter how well I’m doing. I just don’t like an outside variable having a factor in if I win/lose. It may work in my favor or against it, but it doesn’t matter, I want to be alone. Was it that obvious?

I play mainly poker (cash games) and some BJ. I use the same strategy as you for BJ. About 10 years ago, a dealer who was a Mathematician told me that I was playing a system called Positive Progression. My best has been winning 16 hands in a row.
GL, I look forward to following along.

My best was 14 in a row. I once sat down at Aria, won the first 10 hands in a row, some guy sits down, I push in my chips and ask for color and get out of there, but I had to watch to punish myself. He proceeds to lose the next 6 in a row. I felt pretty good about myself at that point.

That is terrible. Did you complain? Maybe try to get new host? I would think at your level the requst you are making is very reasonable.

I am having a same issue with a new host. Almost ruined the trip. Just do not seem to be on a same frequency.

    Yes.

It isn't as big of a big in baccarat where strategy is secondary to feeling and instinct. The issue is how the game gets rated if I play by myself. CET rates by the hour. That's an issue if you play alone as I can go through two shoes in an hour. This said, I am like you in that I have certain things set up prior to arrival. One being I don't worry about back end comps. Unless a problem arises. Which I refuse to address while I'm there. I pay, email after I get back home, and expect the issue resolved without any follow up on my part. The second is agreement to get rated by the shoe, rather than by the hour. Which is more difficult.

If you want, I have an independent host. He doesn't take on everyone, but I'm guessing he'll take you on. It's not a large firm, it's one guy in Canada. He has access to your play from CET and V/P, and he'll be on any issue immediately. He's told me to call while I'm in town for any issues, which I never do. I'm not sure he has formal relationships with casinos, but he talks to them a lot. For example, he doesn't really have a formal relationship with V/P, but last time he was in LV, he apparently made contact. When he got back, he called, and basically said V/P would have me for SB weekend, and here is exactly what they will do upfront. Very businesslike. And detailed enough for me. I always ask about cigars, and he makes sure I can enjoy a cigar at the bacc table. If I can't, his next call to me is letting me know the answer is no, and most importantly, he has other, viable options for me.

He has a little bit of ego too:

    https://www.vegasnews.com/160695/ha...has-made-an-impact-on-vegas-for-20-years.html

His customer list must be fairly eclectic. I don't care. I want a room, and I want to be left alone, with no Vegas drama or Vegas hustle. I might be his easiest customer. Maybe his poorest too.
