I was reserving a table for my trip and started thinking about the Omakase selection. Has anyone ordered it at Zuma? Were you happy with the chefs selections and it does come with other dishes besides sushi correct? I really don’t want to not get the spicy tenderloin, but thought the pricing on Omakase is really fair. It could be fun leaving up to the chef. Thoughts? Thanks in advance for the help.

I think I'm in the minority here, but not a huge fan of Zuma. FWIW, here's my take on this question from another thread...

Agreed, I like Zuma a lot, but it's far from my favorite place in Las Vegas when talking just about the sushi. The food overall is excellent, for sure. The pork belly skewers are amazing, as are the cold dishes and seafood mains. But if you really want to do a Japanese omakase, you're best served taking a taxi off-strip. I definitely agree that Nobu and Morimoto are good (though both are going to be dramatically overpriced); off-Strip, Sen and Kabuto are great. I'll also admit to having a soft spot for Yellowtail, as there's something just so dramatically weird about a spicy crab roll with Pop Rocks that I can't help but appreciate it.

Scarpetta #1 with a bullet. Then probably jaleo and Milo's. Momofuku is not bad (pork buns are great, ramen overrated). Haven't had blue ribbon yet but looking forward to trying it. Going to è later this month with high expectations, we'll see. Don't love STK and rose rabbit lie and haven't had beauty and Essex (I'd put Zuma at the top of this section).

I haven’t tried Scarpetta yet. Think I’ll go with that. Any dish not to be missed? Thanks again!

I do think Zuma is fantastic, definitely one of my favorite places in Cosmo. It's just the omakase (and their sushi overall) that I find a bit overrated.

B&E is great as well but do check their menu first. Everything is very well-executed, I just personally don't like a lot of their dishes, which is not a knock on them.

I totally agree with @44inarow. It’s my favourite restaurant at Cosmo and will be there again next week but having tried the Omakase, I wouldn’t order it again. IMHO sushi/sashimi is not their forte but it’s a significant part of their Omakase. If you go, order lots of pork belly, it’ll fly off the table as people grab seconds.

We get the occasional roll at Zuma, usually a California since that's what wifey likes, but I've never even considered sushi as the star there. They've got tons of really good food and it's one of my favorites, but if I was dying for sushi only, Zuma wouldn't be on my radar. Although last time they had a really excellent toro special, but that's not even a regular menu item(the way it was prepared at least)

Beauty & Essex was fantastic for us, but that's because we had 3 people in our group. I would think that the menu there - with everything "shareable" - would be awkward for a date night with 2 people and almost impossible for a single diner. So if you've got a large(r) group, Beauty & Essex is a great find.

I would add Milos. It is amazing. Can always hit it up for lunch. Have a great special.

Argh...I feel you’re overthinking it. These are all dramatically different restaurants but all great in their own way (except Beauty and Essex which sucks balls)-just go with want you want and it’s going to be fine.

    I make sure to
Go to Kabuto every trip. Always delivers.

Tried Kame last week and it was also excellent. I would consider it more fine dining than fine sushi like Kabuto

I agree I tried it as a solo diner. Wasn't a fan. Think with a bigger group it would be better.
