I was watching some vegas vlogs and came across one that was invited by Stratosphere to do a walkthough and it was announced that they will be allowing cameras and phones at the tables in August. The guy in charge @ strat said they are changing the felts to have hashtags and be user friendly. They aren't going so far as allowing live streaming at the tables but you won't get chastised when using your phone or taking pics of winnings. I haven't seen this being talked about anywhere. Not sure if it will help them but it certainly can't hurt.

There is zero chance this stays. The moment someone pulls out a smartphone that has a card-counting app on it and opens it up (which is bound to happen), that's a felony.

EDIT: It's not a casino policy issue, it's something the Nevada Gaming Control Board is very, very sensitive about.

I thought the same thing, not for the reason you gave, but i figure it would serve as either a distraction or as some way to cheat, regardless of game

Who needs a card counting app? I just take one of the baccarat scorecards, bring it to a blackjack table and mark down every card dealt when I play BJ. I’ve never had anybody say anything to me about it. It’s why I’ve won 7 of my last 10 trips.

Sure, but there is a specific reg dealing with electronic devices. You can write down whatever you want (though they're free to back you off if they think you're counting). It's NRS 465.075 and part of the general Nevada MICS that you can't use electronic devices.

I know that, I was kidding. I’ve actually seen them allow some recording before, but with a GoPro, not an iPhone, so the only use of the device is as a camera.
