Don't make the same mistake I made, Oct is off season, free cruise for Diamond on Tahoe Star was off, the gondola was also closed for maintenance, people who went on the other cruise told me that it was too cold, so go in the summer if you have an offer in the summer. There is also better chance to win with more people gambling, the casinos were very quiet tuesday thru thursday when we were there, Friday was busy, the only day that we were able to win some money.

We went to Tahoe in early June this year for the first time. We were one week early for the lake cruise, so it’s a very narrow seasonal window for that. Harrah’s room was great, a beautiful view. Actually had better luck on VP at Harvey’s across the street. I would highly recommend renting a car in Reno and spend some time driving around the lake and sightseeing. We will definitely go back.

    My favorite place on earth!!!

Getting a car and driving around the lake is a MUST DO in my opinion!

    Alrighty, Y'all!!

If I had a dollar for every Y'all I heard on this trip, I'd be going home even!! It's the beginning of almost every sentence!! And almost every sentence ended in "Love" or "Baby". These folks were some of the nicest I've ever been exposed to. Hello, good morning, etc from everyone you meet in the elevator, pass in the halls, etc. It was refreshing!!

    Recapping this trip:

    The Beau Rivage -
I'm always a little skeptical about a first-time stay in a hotel. The Beau Rivage exceeded all of our expectations. As we entered the property from the bus drop off area we walked through a promenade of retail shops and noticed right away how well decorated the property was. As you exit the shops, you come into a grand lobby area with architecture and decor that I can't even describe.....so here are a few pics:

    [IMG] A81ED351-8D2D-46AD-A7B6-B9232BB05D79.jpeg
    07BEFED9-0AAD-4D86-AC8A-A1926B532705.jpeg 2092A088-DFDA-4520-B4D5-2793DCA5AD21.jpeg D1872E1F-29CD-4324-AD56-BC2DAA04099B.jpeg
The pool area was maybe the best I've ever seen. It's large, open, well laid out and has a lot of clear sun exposure area. I also liked that they had large umbrellas that provided shade for me. I moved one so it worked for us and no one gave me any crap! The pool pics are in the report.

The Deluxe King room was very nice. In the future, I would opt for a suite with two bathrooms, but otherwise it was adequate. Bathroom has a separate shower and soaking tub.

The restaurants were fine for us. We don't usually go for much high end dining due to diet restrictions. We keep it pretty simple, and the Terrace Cafe had everything we needed. Had three breakfasts and one dinner there, and one dinner at the buffet, which was OK. Side note - There were probably 250 people standing in line for the buffet on Saturday night....seafood theme.....but we were told that it's all about the crab legs....People routinely stand in line for up to three hours for this buffet. What am I missing!! I might wait three hours for Gordon Ramsey to personally cook dinner for me, but not for ANY buffet!! Rant Over.

Gambling - I will say I was a little concerned about how far my bankroll would go. I've heard from a few people that they haven't had much luck at the Beau, and I should go to Scarlet Pearl or Island View. I must say, things went rather well at the Beau!!

    Bottom Line - Lost $600.

    Free Play Conversion:
$650 turned into $840 on two Pinball bonuses $5 denom/2 credit.

    Breakdown of the wins:
    $100 - 10
    $200 - 5
    $300 - 1
    $400 - 2
    $500 - 1
    $900 - 1
    Handys - 0
    Dave's - 2 ;)

I now have a host at the Beau. She back-ended $50 off our room charges, which at first I thought was really light. Then I remembered the flight and room were comped and they gave us $700 in FP, plus this was only a two-day gambling trip, so it's probably about right for eight-ish hours of play. The host said "Give me a call when you want to come down again, and I'll put you on the flight".

TAP, the sports bar has plenty of VP and is set-up well for watching sports while you play.

The Group Charter - We won't travel that way again. It was worth trying, but we're just too set in the way we like to travel. I focused on it enough in the report.....'nuff said! I'll work through the host going forward.

Will We Visit Biloxi Again? ABSOLUTELY - We didn't even scratch the surface of exploring what Biloxi has to offer. Next trip, we'll stay longer and rent a car so we can easily see more of the history of the area, maybe tie it into a couple of days in NOLA as well.

I would encourage anyone who is looking to mix it up a bit to make this trip.

    Until next time, my friends................

Not bad for losing only $600 for an enjoyable trip, I wish I had only loss $600 in Lake Tahoe. Hotel looks nice, It is nice that you now have a host there. enjoyed reading your TR, thanks for sharing!

I’m glad you both enjoyed the trip overall! Like you said, a refreshing change.

We plan to go 1-2 times a year if we can continue to get on the junkets.

The pics are beautiful, places like this are intriguing to me. I'd love to visit that far south, maybe once I get tired of Vegas I'll branch out haha. Nice freeplay conversion! And if the missus is happy with the pool, sounds like it's a winner!

    Great recap my friend!!
It's been forever since we visited Biloxi, but after all the positive reports on it lately we might seriously consider a visit again!

My question is..... did you have any sweet tea?????

    An obscure reference...

“Mandrake, have you never wondered why I drink only distilled water, or rainwater, and only pure-grain alcohol? ... Have you ever heard of a thing called fluoridation?”

Not only did I enjoy a glass or two at Half Shell Oyster House, Lameuse St. location, the server offered a glass to go :).

G, your pictures are beautiful. I am so glad you enjoyed your visit. The Beau is a beautiful property and I love how they change the displays.

I fell in love with the area and am glad I planned a trip that allowed for exploring. Each town has its own personality and I look forward to returning. Just wish flights from Phoenix to NOLA weren’t so expensive. The Beau has sent some generous offers. I just can’t justify $600 or more, flight and car, for a quick 2 night trip.
