Please don't use a tax return service....I did the first time and then @VegasChic walked me through how to do my own and in under 5 minutes it was done and mailed. (I send mine registered mail)

Thanks sparkydog. That was my first thought but they mentioned original documentation or it having to be notarized. I will do a bit more research and then send it off. I will definitely file it on my own. I had seen a post awhile back from vegaschic where she listed each step she took, it was very kind of her to outline it and I will find it again before I file.

bc_redhead, please read my post here https://vegasfanatics.com/index.php?threads/tax-refund-for-canadian.790/page-14#post-218639

If you have a trip to Vegas coming up, and you don't want to mail in your ID (I certainly would never mail my passport!), getting an appointment in Vegas is definitely the way to go.

Alternatively, you could potentially go to an IRS office in Washington. Hmm... there was an IRS site somewhere to find out what services are available at various IRS offices. You could check that way.

Or heck, just go to Vegas!

When I had to RENEW my ITIN#, I first got a notary to stamp the form but that didn't work. They only at that time would accept a "Canadian Passport Office approval". Luckily I have a Service Canada a few blocks away. And just in case,,if you got a Handy this year,,,you can only file it AFTER 2019.

I looked last week and didn’t see the form on the IRS website either. Was thinking of looking again because it seemed odd that it wouldn’t be there right on January 1.

Do you have your Win/Loss? Then I think you are good to go.

I got my HP at Wynn, using my wife's Red Card at the time. When they gave me my HP they also gave me a "new" Red Card of my own (I'm pretty sure I already had my own account so this was just a new card not a new account). In any case, I'm assuming my play up to and including the HP won't be on my own card - and as a side-note where can I get my win/loss from Wynn - so will that end up being a problem? My loss statement at Cosmo far outweighs the amount of my HP, and I'm sure the limited play (losses) at Caesars would also be available if needed - so is any of this going to be an issue?

You can get the win/loss on the Wynn site.

    Go to https://www.wynnlasvegas.com/

From the Welcome Mr2BOBCATS dropdown select Profile

Click Casino Account and re-enter your super secret password of "password123". ;)

I suppose this link might work too: https://profile.wynnresorts.com/Casino/WinLoss

I just did mine today too! Mailing tomorrow. I usually just regular post and I have never yet sent the win/loss reports with - just the slips you get with the handpay and the completed IRS form. Never had a problem yet. fingers crossed!

Mailed mine directly from within the States (drove there to mail). Used overnight delivery and confirmed it arrived at IRS on Tuesday Jan 27th. The following week on Friday Feb 7th WMR updated to Returned Received (bar 1 of the 3 bar status). The next day on Saturday it switched to the " is still being processed message".

Today on Saturday Feb 15th, WMR updated to the "We will need additional time to process, please allow up to 6 months from the original dude date....etc." message.
    My return is over $10,000

Yah typical. I hope you get it sooner but probably lucky if you can get it before June. My return is over 40k this year and I'm not holding my breath lol
