So, it’s nearly March. It’s time to finalize plans for the annual April trip to Vegas! Secretly it’s the only trip I look forward to, and I really do travel...

This year, I’m staying from 7th-24th April and leaving as the whole town rocks in for the Football Draft event.

Maybe this year will see a win? Would be nice, considering I’ve lost 22 of the 24 trips I’ve made annually...

7-11th I’ve used (for the first time ever) the MLIFE offers page, and grabbed a Cypress Suite at the Bellagio with $500 F&B thrown in, and no stupid resort fees to pay. With 1,500 sq ft of space including two oversized bathrooms, it does make you wonder why the bedroom isn’t separate from the main living area, unless you count the wall paneling behind the bed! I’m hoping to be sitting up in bed and watching the fountains in full swing, though sadly I doubt that will happen as I’ll be somewhere in the dice pit wondering what I’m doing playing in a casino I’ve never won in.

11th-24th in the Park MGM, but rather than take a Nomad Suite, I’ve opted to try this Skylark Suite which is massive but will probably feel like a tiny flat after staying in the Bellagio.

Family will join me for the first week, then a gap, and then a trade show. The gap won’t really be much of one, because the Golden Arm craps preliminaries start on the 16th. Obviously if I’m lucky enough to throw enough numbers to qualify, then the 19th will be a tough one with the convention to contend with. I’ve been once and only managed a poor 21 rolls. Nowhere near the 30 rolls the leader had when I decided to leave (or was it the fact that my bankroll has left me, I can’t recall). This tournament qualifier uses your own cash to play, but they recorded each players roll count.

A few shows lined up; R.U.N. by Cirque, Shin Lim the Magician and some daily events (Happy Place, CSI and Hunger Games Exhibition), all to keep the family happy!

We were planning an RV trip this year over the Easter Weekend, but due to the Corona Virus affecting flights and general travel movements, peoples’ schedules change and I don’t think a trip to the Grand Canyon is likely. So we will settle for hiking at Red Rock or something similar. Personally, a couple of laps of the strip would suffice.

If any of you would like to meet up (again) then just Direct Message me, and I’ll see what is planned for the various dates.

Subbed! Wishing you many points made the hard way. Shin Lin should be amazing. Mrs. Tesla and I have seen him on Penn & Teller's TV show "Fool Us" and were blown away.

    Good luck!

As far as the shows, I might consider not spending your comps on R.U.N., as it's closing in April (it's apparently doing absolutely terribly), but if you do wind up going, I'd be curious to hear what you think.

Shin Lim is incredible, and might be an actual wizard. He's a phenomenal performer; the only caveat is that he's somewhat more impressive when you see it close-up, like on TV, and I've been told it's not quite as cool in a big theatre, though he's definitely awesome.

Heard nothing but good things about the others (Happy Place, CSI, and Hunger Games). If you're up at Mandalay Bay for Happy Place, you could take them to Shark Reef as well, which, speaking as a grown adult, is one of my favorite attractions in Vegas.

Good luck. Will miss meeting up by a couple of weeks. The way some other things fell that week I’m going worked out. Looks forward to the trip report!

That’s quite a trip you have planned! The large rooms sound very nice - please post pics.

    Good luck in the tournament!

I'll be in town when you're there (19-23). We will need to throw the dice again!

Are you attending the Collaborate conference?

Hi! Nope. Not attending for this IT software Oracle meet up, but you’re right on the dates for NAB Convention, meaning the hotel rooms are generally at a premium price. So, I’ll be definitely around in the evenings (subject to client/supplier meetings), but at the LVCC convention hall from the 18-22nd during the day. Where are you staying?

My work is putting me up at the Luxor since my conference is at Mandalay. Never stayed there before so it should be interesting. Plus it's free so even better.

If you can, pay for a Cleo room upgrade or a Tower room. The other rooms are kind of worn. But we’ve always enjoyed the Luxor.

So it sounds like we should meet up on the 22nd, or an evening where we do a show at the Luxor. Whilst I would have seen R.U.N by then, there’s always Fantasy.....

I’m in need of a little guidance. My stay at the Bellagio comes with some F&B credit. I’ve got the family with me and I’m low balling it with buffets (costs for MGM properties). Can anyone suggest a
Decent restaurant they would go back to within the MGM group that would cost around $200 for 3 people which isn’t a steakhouse (I’ve got that covered). It can be any type of cuisine.

Will it be on the weekend? Brunch at Bardot in Aria is great and for 3 should fall in that price range. It's the only thing my wife requested we do while out on our next trip

Julian Serrano tapas at the Aria. Should fit the budget unless you plan to go ham with the drinks.

Don’t fret! I’ve seen your feet. There’s always going to be a pair that fit you, so come on Cinderella, squeeze those toes in and buy a flight to the only place in the world that makes holiday sense to me!

Just FYI, VitalVegas is reporting that R.U.N. is now closing early March (they're apparently losing an absolutely insane amount of money). I'd stay optimistic but probably would make contingency plans.

Fair point 44, I’ve already requested a switch to “O”, as we haven’t seen that in years, and my daughter hasn’t seen it yet.
