I'm booked in at Paris with an end of hallway P room. Just checked out Vdara and for only $100 more I can get a basic suite room there. It's much bigger and has all my amenity requirements that I had at Paris. I have actually never been inside Vdara. I'm considering switching also because of the location of Vdara. Traveling solo I really want to be safe and I'm starting to wonder if Paris will have more questionable characters in and around it than Vdara will. Anyone want to share their thoughts on this?

Paris and Bally’s definitely had some more questionable characters...

Vdara will end up being more and longer walks alone though, right? I've never stepped foot inside since there's no casino, but seems like there is more walking involved in trying to get somewhere from Vdara

My thoughts are bouncing around like a ping pong. If I stay at Paris that means I can gamble downstairs and get directly up to my room afterward. If I stay at Vdara there's no casino, but that means less of an "unsavory" crowd simply because there *isn't* a casino. What to do, what to do...

Are you typically a Caesars rewards player, or Mlife (MGM)? That normally determines where you stay. Vdara is an easy walk from Bellagio along a covered walkway, and just a short walk to Aria (really just across the valet parking area, sort of across the street), but easy walk along sidewalk. I'd stay at Vdara over Paris, unless you are trying to earn Tier credits with the Caesars rewards program. From everything I have read, MGM properties have been doing a superior job with COVID cleaning vs. Caesars properties. That would factor into my decision as well. Have you checked rates at both Bellagio and Aria? Aria's rates are usually around the same as Vdara. Good luck with your decision and hope you have a great trip.

I'm not a comped player. So I can stay where I like since I'm footing the bill. :D. I have heard that Vdara is confusing to get to and is far"ish" from the strip, which isn't appealing since I plan to walk mostly so I can keep my svelte figure after all the food I will be enjoying. ;-). I also like the fact that at Paris you can reserve an actual lounge chair for $20. Since I am not getting any comps, I'm not going to pay for a Cabana for just one person. So the reserved loungers are a great way to guarantee pool time without paying a lot. Vdara and Aria don't offer that, so I'm really leaning heavily toward Paris. I already have an end of hallway panorama Burgundy room at Paris. I should probably be grateful for that and just keep that reservation.

I think you should stay at Paris if you plan to gamble there. I travel solo often and I always get the most wary when I’m walking outside late at night after a few drinks. I always stay where I gamble for that reason.

    meh, most.
Paris was fine and comfy in the Casino Wed 7/29.
not too crowded, but crowded enough to not be dead.

We went downtown that night, it was a ghost town..
    Super weird.

Staying in one property that you can play at 24/7 seems safer than walking around outside, looking for a casino,
    especially in the wee hours..
and especially if you have been enjoying many cold alchoholic beverages.
    JMHO.

sounds like you already figured it out: trust your instincts.

I think I would stay put at Paris for this trip.

It's a relatively short walkway from Vdara to Aria, but I've seen accounts that say it's now serving as a bit of a hangout spot, especially after dark.

Yeah, like everyone said, if you gamble at all, I would go with Paris. If you are not gambling at all, then Vdara is fine. If you want to go more upscale than Paris (i.e. less unsavory characters), then I would suggest V/P or Wynn where you can gamble as well.

I second the V/P. It's our favorite place to stay and the rooms are quite nice.

I would also recommend V/P based on suite quality and size of the casinos. I would be very hesitant to walk around outside alone at night. V/P casino selection will keep you occupied. Wynn is right there if you want to move around during the day.

Hi NDGal, I travel to Vegas solo too. Gotta be safe. I think Paris is the best bet for safe and convience as Paris hotel is on the monorail path. I love the monorail for easy transportation. I am not sure where the Vdara is. Paris is pretty much in the middle of everything too. Great views, great atmosphere..I visited Paris Hotel many times.

Just a safety tip: get a door stopper you know the ones you put under the door to keep it open? Well, get one and at night put it under the door (inside) so it is unable to open from the outside.

Monorail is not open, nor are the Mandalay/Luxor/Excal or Park/Aria/Bellagio trams. I'm not positive about the Mirage/TI tram.
It's sort of in between (set back a bit, but still on LVB) Aria and Cosmo.

Thanks 44inarow. According to the internet the main monorail reopened reopened in July.
