Aria serves it in some pretty nice glasses from high limit—love the Ciroc discussion, I’ve been getting abused by the neighborhood microbrew snobs all summer while they drink their IPA’s, yet somehow they suck down my Peach Ciroc just fine. I’ve been mixing with Kirkland Sparkling Orange-Mango to rave reviews!!

    Great report!!!

    Cheers!

I'm hooked on Deep Eddy Ruby Grapefruit Vodka and Tonic. It suggested mixing club soda but tonic was on hand since I'm a gin drinker and it was so good. We just picked up Peach. That stuff goes down like punch!

Love that Deep Eddy ruby grapefruit with club soda! If you are a fan of Arnold Palmers, I recommend the Deep Eddy Sweet Tea Vodka mixed with their Lemon Vodka (topped with a splash of soda!)
Sorry to derail! Loved this TR!

@YOleven Thanks for the posts. I am new to this board but frequent the Beau Rivage once a month in Biloxi and love Vegas. I’m in Vegas 27th-30th of October and this board and trip reports like yours are very helpful with info where i want to stay. I might try and do one of these TR for my trip

    And now, some final thoughts…

Since I usually spend a good amount of time at Chandelier and the Sports Bar each trip, I knew going into this trip that things were going to be quite different since bartop VP wouldn’t be an option. That said, I still made the best of it and became a little more acquainted with Cosmo’s VP options throughout the casino. While there are a good number of standalone UX machines, I only found two All Star II machines (not including those in the HL room) for when I wanted to play DSTP, and there is also one standalone STP and one standalone DSTP machine across from the Clique entrance. At Cosmo, I tend to gravitate to 10 cent triple play DSTP, and even with only a few non-bartop machines in the casino that offer this game, I never had much trouble finding an open machine.

In addition to missing out on the bartop VP and enjoying the atmosphere at Chandelier, I really missed the drink tickets and getting comped premium drinks. Make no mistake…the drinks made up by the service bars are awesome and probably the best casino floor drinks served up in Vegas. However, when you’re accustomed to accumulating drink tickets and trading them in for a Verbena or other premium cocktail, things just seemed a little different this trip. I went into the trip thinking that I’d order a drink or two from Chandelier even if I had to pay for it, but with the current setup, you can’t even step up to the bar and order a drink. Instead, you need to be seated by the host in the lounge area, and only then can you order a drink. I didn’t want to go through all of that, so I’ll just enjoy Verbenas and my other Chandelier favorites for when I return to Vegas and will hopefully be back in the saddle at Chandelier. This afternoon, the Nevada COVID Task Force authorized bars in Clark county to reopen in some capacity this coming Sunday, so hopefully things will start getting back to normal.

Some of you may have read news articles or stories about the crowd in Vegas as of late, and to some degree I’ll agree that the crowd in Cosmo was…well, a little different than usual. I noticed it more in the casino, but at times throughout the resort as well. I’ll hold off on passing along specifics of my observations, as I don’t want any of my comments to be misconstrued as being judgmental, but suffice to say that while chatting with Cosmo employees, they have noticed it as well, and they have heard many comments from other long-time Cosmo guests. That said, at no time did I feel any less safe or more on guard at Cosmo than I have during any previous visits, nor has there been any change in my perception of the Cosmo casino or property as a whole. Similar to some of the other higher end properties in Vegas, I heard that Cosmo is planning on increasing their discounted hotel rates originally intended to to attract visitors upon reopening.

Anyway, that should about wrap it up for this trip report, and thanks to everyone for following along. With casino bars reopening (and hopefully remaining open), I’m definitely looking forward to returning soon. January? December? We’ll see!
