GlenCoco’s Ju(ne)bilation | Cosmo | June 8–12

With just over two months since my last visit during the VF-Palooza in April, I feel like this one is overdue. This is the first time I’ve skipped over a May trip in almost ten years (besides involuntarily in 2020); and, May was the first month since reopening that I hadn’t visited! I still have to remind myself that I somehow had 10 trips between 6/30/20 and 4/6/21. All those slot Majors and TDB AWAKs certainly helped fuel my trip-to-trip bankrolls!

If you’ve followed my TRs before, you’ll know what to expect – I just hope it’s not too repetitive. This time, I’ll try to break down the trip plans in a few categories below: The Usual, The Semi-Divergent, and The Wildly Different.

The Usual
— Cosmo. KV in the Chelsea is plenty of room for me on solo trips.

— Zuma, Beauty & Essex, Scarpetta, China Poblano, Bang Bar, STK happy hour.

The Semi-Divergent
— Likely staying until Saturday the 12th. It’s been rare for me to stay for part of the weekend (primarily due to the post-pandemic weekend crowds/clientele), and I usually get out of dodge by late Friday afternoon. So, I’ll need to plan on buckling up with some extra patience if I plan to leave my room at all starting Friday midday, haha.
I originally was planning to leave Friday the 11th and had a back-up flight Saturday which I figured I’d cancel, per usual…but, given my last-minute itinerary change as I cover in the next section (VGK), I’m feeling like it’s best to stay until Saturday to get more time for gambling. Of course…plans are always subject to change. I’m keeping both flights for now, just in case.

— Although the multiple usual suspects are planned for meals, I’m excited that it will be Las Vegas Restaurant Week while I’m there. The slightly divergent may take over when I order a few different menu items than usual, provided the opportunity exists at each restaurant.

— Tentative: hoping to give the ten hands of 25¢ 100-play VP a stab at $125 a pop. May do 80-play to make it an easier $1k to track.

— Tentative: with all of these Buffalo variants, I’m tempted to do a “Buffalo Challenge” of sorts and see which one prevails with my minuscule sample set. Commit $100ish coin-in per machine and do a set amount of spins (say 25 spins at $4/spin) and see which performs the best (Classic, Grand, Gold, Max, Diamond, Revolution, Chief). I could very well be done in 1-2 minutes per machine with the set amount of spins and if I don’t hit any bonuses, but I think it could be a nice break from a monotonous VP session or if I hit an otherwise rough patch with my usual slots.

— My trip overlaps with @tringlomane, so we may try to meet up at Chandelier and win thousands on VP while not letting a single drink ticket go to waste!

— Had a blast playing Baccarat during my Feb trip (was a first for me). If HL mini-Bacc is at $50 minimum on Wednesday (early), I’ll give it a ten unit try and hope to double my buy-in. BANK!


The Wildly Different
– Okay, not wild, but I have lunch reservations at Momofuku for the first time ever. Looking forward to giving it a shot if I actually keep the reservation and don’t just do Bang Bar again

— Vegas. Golden. Knights. Game 6. You can refer to my other post (link below) for more details, but I am exceedingly pumped for this experience. To maximize my time over at the arena and the plaza, I’ll probably get there around 3:00pm on Thursday.

— I recently played 3-Card Poker for the first time (at Talking Stick when some friends came into town from Texas and wanted to gamble). Although I know it’s a carny game and I don’t think great odds, I enjoyed it (despite losing) and would like to try it again. Again…I guess not too wild. But with as much of a creature of habit I am, I’m already semi-proud of myself for branching out

Set to arrive around 6:30 or so tomorrow. Will hopefully get settled in quickly, then hit my dinner reservation.

Time for both the Golden Knights AND me to WIN!

 

I think I got lucky during my Feb trip when an actual mini-Bacc table in HL was $50 min. First table on right when walking into the area. It was pretty clear that it was No Commission, but this table made up for it with push on Banker 6 (or it paid half on bets for Banker — I can’t remember at the moment). I learned this the hard way, haha
