Reading the other thread on 1 day stays got me thinking about this and I didn't want to thread-jack it, but ya'll over here are far wiser than I am re: comp strategy.

Pre-pandemic, my job had me traveling to a spot with a local non-Vegas MGM fairly regularly. So if I had a boring evening, I'd often pop by and spend an evening there. I'd give them some decent play, but obviously not the level I commit to on a Vegas trip. Am I messing up my Vegas comps by doing that?

In my experience, local play in a club does NOT hurt offers in a destination city. But rather the opposite. That is to say, your local play may be good enough to get you offers in Vegas, even if you have never played with that club in Vegas.

Your ADT for your local casino, is tied to that local casino, and doesn't effect your ratings in Vegas for the same club. Nor does your play in Vegas get you better offers at your local casino.

Vegas itself is on an island for offers. While the bigger clubs, with many locations, will give you free rooms coast to coast in many cases, in thanks to your rated local play or your Vegas play, doesn't matter. But, that is more them wanting to see if you would take your gambling show on the road.

To add, I have dropped in with the guys at one of my local CET casinos in Indiana (Horseshoe) and have done nothing more than slow play a hundred bucks or so. I have no offers from them at all.

Closer to my house, is another CET casino in Illinois. At that place, I play more, as I will often grab a free room for the night. Maybe $500 gambled there. I have free rooms, some free play, like $50, and a gift every now and then.

My CET play in Vegas, since I am on vacation and have more time to play, is maybe $1-$2K per day on the slots. And with that, I have suites, $300 in free play and whatever else in my offers.

All 3 of them, are in their own bubbles. Me playing a lot in Vegas, is not enough to start getting offers in Indiana, where I low play. And my low play in Indiana, doesn't do a thing to my Vegas offers. But my play within their club is enough for me to get free junkets and stays in Reno, where I have never been.

Same with Mlife. My Detroit low play did nothing for my Borgata offers. And my very strong Borgata numbers (higher than Vegas) did nothing to improve my Vegas offers. And my play with them, is good enough for free junkets to Biloxi, where I have never been.

The funny thing about that, is that they will fly me to and from Biloxi for free. Give me a free suite and still give

My CET play gets me free junkets to Reno, where I have never been. And my Mlife gets me free junkets to Biloxi, where I have never been.

Thank you! Given the last year and a half, my Vegas offers are pretty nutty at the moment, and didn't know if I was going to mess them up when I start traveling for work again. NatHarbor, meanwhile, is all "Come visit us. No, you can't have a free room, but we'll give you a crock pot."

hahah I get these too and I'm all "thank you, but if I'm going to get on a plane and fly somewhere to gamble, um, why would I go anywhere but Vegas?"

I like the junkets, since I have to pay for my own flights to Vegas like a sucker. These things are free, and super easy. My Vegas play got me the Borgata in Atlantic City junket. I had no rated play there, and it was a great foot in the door.

Private airport here in IL, you could pretty much park your car on the runway and get in the flight. Round trip limos on the AC side to get you to/from the hotel. And just enough free play to get you started.

I am tempted to eventually do a Reno or Biloxi one as well. Reno should have great odds, but the flights they have for the junkets are out of state to get on the flight. And they are always long weekdays, like M-F, and Im not so sure about that.

My Mlife Biloxi is good for like $700 in free play if I did it. But, same drill, I'd have to get to an airport that is like an hour away.

Like you, each time I consider them, I just end up booking Vegas once more LOL

You should give Biloxi a try. I find the Beau an enjoyable stay. Lots of older 3-reel machines, which you like if I remember correctly.

Yeah, its been in my tickle me file for awhile now. And I do like the older shitty slots. I think Reno, as a whole, is more my style. Older slots, lower holds, more themed and cartoony.

The odds in Biloxi look good, 92% pennies, 95% nickles, 94% dollars etc. I'd certainly give it a shot, if I can get a flight offer thats workable. Same goes for Reno.

I agree with Gary. I think you’d enjoy the Beau in Biloxi. Very pretty views of the water and lots of older machines mixed in with the newer ones. Southern hospitality and seafood.

Make that 3 votes for Biloxi! We love it! And the people, employees, etc are very friendly. The charter flights are great; you don’t have to worry about poor behavior on the flight. You are with a group of people with at least one similar interest!
