Here’s some of my hits form my recent trip.
Lately I’ve move mostly from 3-line dollars to multi line quarters to try to reduce variance. That means the big wins come mostly on dealt hands.

I got dealt 4s and dealt 3s. Was playing BP, so kept the fifth card because I didn’t want to know how many kickers I missed.




When the dealt 2s came I was playing the right game:


The deuces hit was at MGM and took almost an hour to get paid!
A couple hours later still at MGM, but this time in the high limit room, I was paid nearly instantly:


The royals seemed to come in pairs, getting two quarter royals 20 minutes apart in one session on STP, alas no multipliers:

Hi, just curious, what is the strategy playing 10 lines on the 100 line machine? (Better odds?)

 

A combination of which machines have the best paytables, and how much I want to bet per hand.

A while back I started playing dollars because they had the good paytables, and over time moved up to 3 lines per hand. But recently if I can find quarter machines with similar payables I will tend to do that, but play more lines so the bet is similar. If things are going well I’ll add a few more lines or switch from BP to DDB for a while. No more big $4K wins (at least not til I get that dealt Royal ) but the losses tend to be smaller.

As for why a 100 line machine vs 50, 25, or 10, it’s probably paytables. I’d rather not play the 50 and 100 but if they have better paytables than elsewhere, I’ll play there.

At Turning Stone over the weekend. First sighting of Super Times Pay Super Stacks. Super volatile as it is 100 credits per hand. Even at nickels, I was up and down $500 in a blink of an eye. Best hit was dealt 3's but only got kicker on one hand and no multipler/extra hands unfortunately. Still a decent hit.

When you get the multiplier it gives extra hands as well so best is 10x with +30 extra hands. Most of the time it seemed to give 15 to 21 extra hands and 3 to 5x multiplier.

Shortly after the above, the machine went ice cold with hardly any paying dealt hands and nothing converting on the draw. 100 nickels sure goes quick.

 

Labor Day weekend at our local. Only nickels but damn, that's a LOT of nickels!! And a Royal is a Royal!

Funny you say that... as I have a hard time with any game I have to pay double for the chance of a bonus. I would play this bit unless I got extremely lucky the first time out.. I would probably not get addicted... then again... when in Vegas. Lol

 

I am still on pace to get at least 1 royal per month.


I usually don't count one hit in multiline games, but this one had a multiplier on it and it was a first for me: first multiplier on a royal.
$6000 pay from $50 free-play was also a bonus.

Thursday I got my first successful conversion after being dealt 4 to the royal in nearly 2 years, and it also happened to be my first ever progressive royal on dollars.


Hitting the royal also unlocked a promo at that casino for Saturday, of which one component involved getting a bonus for hitting a handpay that day. I decided that to give myself the best chance of cashing in I'd have to take my first foray into $5 denom video poker. After being down about $1000 I succeeded:



Add in a drawing win on Saturday evening, and those two hands helped me score an extra $900 in free play that I'll be using this week.

The craziest part of all this: right after I got paid for my $2000 quad, a stranger came by and said he thought that I had won $425k. I thought to myself that he must've been high and/or drunk a.f. at that moment in time. It wasn't until I looked at the picture at home that I realized he may have confused all those "S"s for 5s and dollar signs.
