11/9-11/10 - 24 hours in Vegas!

Hey all! Frequent lurker here about to board my flight for a quick <24 hour getaway to Vegas. Staying at Mandalay Bay. Will be a solo trip so I’ll have some time to document things along the way.

The only thing planned is to see Shin Lim (last year’s AGT winner) at Mirage tonight, but other than that I’ll probably just be doing lots of gambol with craps, roulette, slots and maybe some VP. Hopefully will be able to share lots of winning with y’all along the way.

And we got a spectacular aerial view of the new Barham Fire in Los Angeles right on the other side of the Hollywood sign. That is scary close to a lot of homes. Hope it ends up being small and quickly contained.

 

Alright long hiatus because phone died.

Barely made it to the magic show on time. It was great! He did his two most famous acts which even though I’ve seen a bunch of times on YouTube before, it felt even better in person! Also his cohost Colin is hilarious and and does amazing mentalism magic as well.

Didn’t have anything to eat all day so I stopped by Carnegie Deli after the show. I know it has a rep for giant portions, but even that did not prepare me for the portion sizes.


I made a valiant attempt but was thoroughly defeated.

Wandered down to Bellagio where I started at the craps table which was super choppy and eventually went down my buyin. Switched it up to slots and got a bunch of play. A couple of notable hits below on 007 and Wizard of Oz but gave it back. Now back at Mandalay Bay.

Was contemplating calling it a night but decided to check out the craps tables instead. Went in for 500, out for a small win


That puts me barely ahead for the trip. Debating if I should shut down and just catch up on sleep for the rest of the trip. We shall see in a few hours...

 

Morning! On the outside patio of Border Grill at Mandalay Bay for their tapas brunch. It’s a beautiful day today

 

My strategy lately has been to pick a section of the wheel around one or two numbers I’m feeling and add to my bets when they hit. E.g. the 6 numbers 5, 17, 32, 20, 7, 11, which are contiguous on the wheel. Psychologically it’s so I don’t get FOMO when the ball lands right next to my number LOL

 

Border grills tapas brunch is amazing! Totally worth it even solo.

Wow that lunch took me out! On the flight now and catching up on the TR.

So I massively food coma-ed and woke up around 2:30 with <3 hrs before my flight, thinking let’s just use my free play and see what happens.

Well I wound up in the high limit area and got this nice line hit:


And a couple of top dollar bonuses (looks like I only took a picture of one of them)


Decided to give VP a go so I found a single line double bonus on one of those old upright machines with good pays. My fingers got quite the workout on those old buttons. It ended up being a slow bleed as I didn’t hit any premium hands, so just as all the cards started to blur together, I switched to a bonus streak game near by. Ended up getting a couple of nice hands and multipliers on it.

Continuing from where we left off...

At this point it was around 40 mins before i had to leave for the airport, and I was up a few hundred bucks for the trip so the smart part of my brain was saying to stop gambling but the degenerate part of my brain was saying to cram some more in. And we know wick one always wins in Vegas lol.

So I go off to look for some dollar slots and find a 5 line pinball clone I’ve never played before. No time to figure out how to get the bonus so I just get right into it. Great, it’s a machine with no sound. Normally I never play a machine that has no sound, as I feel like it’s bad luck, but today I guess because I was in a time crunch and because I was already 5-6 spins In by this time, I kept playing. A few spins later, boom! $1000 line hit! I play it down to an even number then cash out.


About an hour and a half now before my flight. Coming off the $1000 line hit I felt like pushing my luck and seeing if I can hit and run anything else. Find a craps table and buy in for a few hundred bucks. First shooter makes a quick point then 7 out. Next shooter makes 4 immediate points on a bunch of hard numbers, 10, 4, 5, (and a 6) before he 7s out. Perfect. I color up an additional 300 profit and cash all my chips and Titos.

Head up to my room and count my money and turns out I’m up $1600! Its 50 minutes before my flight takes off now. I quickly snap an obligatory photo of the view before I rush off to the airport. They’re literally calling my name as I run to the gate.
