I don't believe that these high fat diets encourage the consumption of just meat. Can't beat a plant based diet for sure.

The key thing for me is to establish long term what works for me. I'm only 7 months into the diet and it's early days. White carbs is something we don't need to eat anyway, and when it all turns to sugar in your body...

I've learnt that everyone reacts differently to food intake. I've been told that getting a Test done to work out which foods work for your body is the way to go. I may do that next.

This doesn't mean we compare bodies if we meet up next month....

Willie, I used to believe Fat was the killer. That's what the doctors were saying and the food industry steered that one, altering food to low fat...and substituting it with sugar.

Not going to get into why butter is better than margarine, or why you should have full fat milk rather than low fat (if you are going to drink
Cows milk). I'm not experienced enough to influence others on such choices. I can only work things out by the results I've seen in my own diet.

Here's one tip though. Stop eating shellfish!! Nothing ever came good of eating something that feeds off shit !! Lol.

I'm proud of you Willie! 212 is too low and I'm glad you realized that. I weighed 103 this morning but I'm using the hell out of my Ninja! ;)

I'm eating some French Onion soup I made in my Ninja crockpot this morning. I used garlic bread for my "croutons". Sampling a bit now before dinner. Lol [IMG] So I do eat, but I don't eat a lot at once or if I do I only eat one meal a day. This does work for me with maintaining a weight. I was close to 200 pounds when I had my kids so I know the struggle of losing weight. I just did it slowly so I didn't feel deprived. If I had felt deprived, I'd still be 180 pounds.

I increased mine too to a 2nd T a day - thought I was getting enough fiber from veggies & fruits, but it really made a difference. I lost 1.6 lbs.!

I'm going to look into that other fiber somebody posted about though - I accidentally ordered psyllium powder instead of just the husks and it's terrible.
    I found it -
Willie, I thought you said 212 lbs. was too low?

Like Craps_Player, I eat a full-fat diet also, eggs fried in coconut oil, cheese (probably too much), don't shy away from beef or hamburger, and my cholesterol #s are good.

I've posted this before, but cholesterol is not a bad thing.
    http://www.holistichelp.net/blog/tidbit-tuesday-is-your-cholesterol-too-low/
Repeated warnings against the dangers of high total cholesterol are based on inconsistent and skewed data. Cholesterol-phobia has generated enormous profits for pharmaceutical companies. Lipitor itself produces revenue exceeding $10 billion each year.

Cholesterol is necessary for hormone production, including cortisol, dhea, testosterone, estrogen, pregnenalone, aldosterone and progesterone, as well as nutrient absorption, and a healthy brain.

    ..

Yea, I know..... But it is exciting seeing the scale move downward even just a little. Plus I leave for Vegas in a few days and I will eat and drink there. This way when I return home, I hopefully can lose the Vegas weight quickly.
It's nice fitting into smaller clothes. I shopped at Penny's a few weeks ago. I was never able to buy clothes at any basic retail stores due to my obese size and height. Penny's has extra tall men's clothes in non obese sizes...

When someone is fat all their adult life it takes time to adjust or find a proper weight. I am gaining the confidence now that if/when I do gain 10 or so pounds that I can lose it in a week to 10 days and this knowledge is reassuring..,

Thanks for caring and responding Pea... I thought only some Ice Fisherman from Bismark, North Dakota read my posts...

Congratulations on the blood work numbers.!!!

    We All Carry Extra Pounds.!!!

I've read recently how a person can have anywhere from 3 lbs. to 12 lbs. extra weight/pounds of stored fecal matter in their intestinal walls and track etc... The range of 3 to 12 depends on age and body size and eating habits of the individual.... This stored fecal matter is not removed by normal elimination and even magnesium shitrate doesn't remove much of the stored up, bound stuff.. We need the coarseness of the psyllium husk powder..

Psyllium husk powder, with its coarseness, removes a great percentage of this intestinal fecal storage allowing it to pass through as waste and we then lose this weight...
I'm old and tall and ate unhealthy for decades, so I figure I have/had 10 to 15 pounds of fecal matter stored in my intestines.. I had been taking 5 to 8 grams of psyllium husk powder a day, but this past week I went to 15 grams a day spread out in 3 doses. I add it to smoothies, oat cereal and my bean soup and drink it with protein powder too.....

I see more weight coming off, so I attribute this to the extra psyllium husk powder...

Maybe some of you are like me and have 3 to 12 lbs. of fecal matter just waiting to be eliminated... Wouldn't it be nice to weigh 3 to 12 pounds less..???

When the hell am I supposed to drink the vinegar? I had been doing it before bed. Then I read somewhere if you don't do it before a meal it's a waste of time. I'm down from 270# to 255#. Cut out alcohol except one night a month and just simply eating better. But the vinegar thing seems like it could help as well.

So, tomorrow starts my "800 calories per day get it right this time" diet. One last slice of pizza today before going low-carn/low-calorie until the next Vegas trip. Going 100% alcohol free for a while as well. (again, won't keep that up in Vegas).

Of course, today, I'm sick as hell. The entirety of Houston's pollen has taken up residency in my sinuses. So it's a lazy Sunday then.

So I'm looking to try to add some muscle mass without having to join a gym. I will begin just at home doing pull ups, pushups and sit ups. What I'm not sure on is if i should take a day off in between? Or should I not do push ups and pull ups on the same day. Any and all advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
