The whole restaurant. They're going to open up a CVS in its place.

I shouldve known lol. Honestly, it will take a lot of the ambience out of the place.

When you told me, i thought it was only in the casino.

Yes I must have those legs during Spring Fling, if I don't it's all @BS's fault.

I'm a little late since I don't keep up with anything while I'm in Vegas, but thanks, VegasMonkey, for putting on the HL Slot Pull Friday night! It was fun and nice meeting everyone.

Just a note -- I was 'talked to' about posting my stats (win/loss, coin in, and THEO) by my host who was talked to by his boss who read my trip reports on this site. Pretty much turned me off from writing trip reports in the future. :(

I was stuck in my room at Cosmo all day during the standoff. I hadn't eaten since breakfast the day before and was just getting ready to go down for brunch on Saturday when the announcement was made over the loudspeaker in the rooms to stay put. After several hours I called the front desk to see if room service was working, but they said no and to eat from the minibar, it would be taken care of. I had a $100 dining credit on the room I hadn't used a penny of anyway, but I didn't want to eat cookies for my first meal after more than 24 hours.

Here's the view of the standoff from my terrace in the Boulevard Tower (6296). Couldn't get the 11 SWAT guys standing behind the SWAT vehicle on the right in the shot, though. Crazy day, felt totally surreal. So sorry for the family of the man who lost his life and for the other one shot in the belly -- hope he recovers from his ordeal.

I asked. The restaurant is not closing. Don't know how this shit gets started. They will have to redo the entire mansion area and how much money would that cost? It doesn't even make sense.

What a great TR and fun read. Glad everyone made it out safe and it's great to hear Broncofn is feeling better. It leaves all of his ammo for the April trip.

    Thanks for sharing...Cheers!!!

This is such a completely load of BS on the part of your host. Keep writing your TRs! Love them. What are they scared of ... transparency? But, seriously, that would only make me write more detailed reports.

Hell, frankly a lot of reports here are why some people (many decent level gamblers) transitioned to cosmo.

A great point, DS. Just goes to show it's really more about control than anything else. I always fight against control haha

I agree - what bullshit that is by the host/hosts boss. It's not like you're sharing some insider secret. Plus, these are your gambling numbers - they should have no say in who you choose to share that with.

Now to play devils advocate... I could understand the casino getting upset if you were sharing a special arrangement that they gave you (not that I agree, but could understand). For example, a lot of bigger players have packages that include rebates on losses, airfare credit, front money incentives etc... Maybe they would not want these details out in the open because it would subject them to more people asking/wanting more from them. However, if you qualify for these "hard comps", you most likely would already know it, so again I don't see anything wrong with sharing this (but could understand the casinos not wanting people comparing them in the open).

In your case of sharing Theo, time, avg bet, and coin in.....all of those numbers you can keep track of and calculate yourself if you really wanted to, so I don't see what the big deal is. Hell with your detailed accounting, you'd probably be a lot more accurate than they are anyway.

That is an incredible load of shit. You put your money on the line in games of chance, and your results and theo are yours to share if you please. Are they scared people are going to start comparing offers across the board? The absolute only feasible answer to this is that they are scared of educated consumers maximizing their comps. For them to specifically take umbrage with the posting of your stats makes this crystal clear. Total crap, you are free to talk about how wonderful they are and how great the food/rooms/etc are but god forbid you post anything that could be used to allow people to extrapolate comp rates. Clearly there is something amiss or they wouldn't care...

It makes business sense for Cosmo to be the one that would push back against transparency. Their ratings/calculation of Theo is substantially less competitive than any other major strip property (at least for table games). Not saying it justifies them pressuring for non-disclosure -- but you can see why they wouldn't want the information shared with educated players.

Video poker as well. Admitted by Kevin Sweet himself and verified from various members numbers, VP theo is calculated exactly assuming flawless play for the exact variant you're playing. So playing 6/5 Bonus at the bar (3.13% theo) will earn you theo 6.8X faster than 9/6 JoB (0.46% theo). Other casinos players club systems are usually not advanced enough for this and have to take a blended theo average for a given machine.

Generally speaking though, I still think this is short sighted, especially since most cosmo players play slots here and their theo numbers seem "normal" to me. If @justmare wants to share her results publicly, she should feel free to do so. I sorta get why cosmo doesn't want to share her theo, but anyone willing to plug this in will get fairly close to this "super secret number" anyway, so I personally think they are overreacting a bit.

    Cosmo Theo ~ Penny slot coin-in x 0.12 + dollar slot coin-in x 0.08 + quarter VP coin-in x 0.03 + dollar VP coin-in x 0.02

I also have a feeling when they read her last TR, they realized she wrote down every machine session result, and a LARGE majority of those sessions were losing results. This is the nature of slot machines, but it's a bit more sobering when you see it in writing. But if justmare played at Caesars, she would write her report the same way!!!

And I WANT to read detailed reports regardless of results. Don't let Cosmo bully you into not sharing your experience with us @justmare! Leaving the theo number out to keep them happy is fine (all - see rough formula above), but I liked your detail of +300 on this slot -200 on that slot etc. And they certainly don't have any right for you to withhold your own results from being shared if YOU want to share them!!!

Now part of me wants to play for beers at the bar for a few hours, try to get my theo out of someone, post the theo number here, and we all can get a good laugh at how tiny it is and how I wasted 2 minutes of their life retrieving it. And if they refuse to give me my theo, that will also be reported.

Bummer! Wish I would have known. I could have used some fun. lol

My host said he would continue to give me the stats, but just not to post them. I apologized for getting him in trouble and said I wouldn't post my theo anymore and he said not to post ANY stats he gives me. I don't get that at all, really. I've been posting my stats on message boards for years.

I just got turned off about posting reports online because I always seem to catch some sort of hell whenever I do. On other message boards it was hell about being a degenerate and giving winnings back, etc... And now this.

Yes, I believe it's all about transparency.

With all that I've read here, I agree!

Never anything special for me! I'm booked into a one bedroom terrace with a view and never get anything better asking for an upgrade at check in (as instructed to do by my host). The only time I've gotten Terrace Suites was when I booked through VIP myself. But I rarely even go over my $100 dining credit and if I do it's very little and is comped off on the back end. I seriously don't cost any casino that much money with comps. I'm there for a short time, gamble my ass off, and don't eat at high end places!

I do believe it is all about transparency and people comparing what they get at what theo. I know my friend who plays at Harrah's Las Vegas exclusively can't even GET theo info out of her host. I've never, ever had a problem getting that info out of any of my hosts that I've asked. The most push back I've ever had was from Stations and I was just told they can't give it to me any other way except in person. Now I just go into High Limit and ask the host on duty before I leave.

    I do understand that aspect.

Maybe they don't like the blow by blow of each machine win/loss. I never used to do that before playing slots.

Thanks for the support! I probably should have started a separate thread for this topic, but didn't think it would get this much reaction. Sorry for the thread jack!
