I'm not much of a writer, so bear with me. We Arrived in Vegas early morning June 7th decided to take Lyft, I usually take Uber. 99% sure our driver was a strung out junkie, and she tunneled us. When I complained she said "I just put it in my phone and do what it says" I call BS! Needless to say, that was my first and last Lyft ride. After trying to check in early we went to the Donut Bar downtown, if you like donuts and haven't tried this place you must go. Really cool staff and great donuts! Headed to the D to use some free play, not much to write about as far as gambling, but the D is always a fun place with very nice people. We were there long enough to have lunch, which was also free, and ate at American Coney Island. Excellent, cheap, low roller food. About the time we sat down to eat I received a text that our room was ready, so we ate and headed back to Encore. Thanks to the Vegas Fanboy Podcast we went to Ellis Island for our free shot and beer and some $5 3/2 blackjack. They also have a nice variety of DDB 9/6 VP. Had some of my best machine hits of the trip, and the wife and I sat and played blackjack for a few hours. The dealers and patrons were a lot of fun. We walked away from the table up slightly. We earned a free steak dinner at their 24 hour cafe, certainly not high end but very good with large portions. If you just wanted to go for the steak dinner its only $9.99 and if you play at least $5 in a machine you get a $2 discount. Ellis Island is a great little place with very nice staff and good inexpensive food. After our adventures Downtown and to EI we mostly hung around Wynn/Encore. Nothing really spectacular in the way of gambling wins this trip but we still had a great time. We ate at Wazuzu, Alegro, and SW Steakhouse. That was our first time at SW and it might have been the best meal of my life. The Molten Brown products are gone from Encore. The bottles and soap still look the same, minus the Chinese writing, but they no longer say Molton Brown on them. Kind of disappointing. Encore appears to be preparing to charge for self park but it didn't look like Wynn was, I can't think of a reason they would charge at Encore but not Wynn so maybe they are just doing Encore first. We had a wonderful 5 days in Vegas and cant wait to go back. Well, that's about it, sorry there aren't any pictures, hope you enjoyed it.

I guess we'll let you join...
Sucks to hear about the self parking at Wynncore. Not surprising though.

Glad you had a good time!

Noooo! We always stock up on the Molton Brown products when we stay at Wynn by asking (and tipping) the houskeeping staff for extra. Is the scent the same in the new containers (Coco & Tonka Bean)? I remember when Venetian/Palazzo switched out the Argaria soaps and lotions to whatever it is now. Big disappointment and I don't really use the stuff in the rooms any longer. It's the small things that a property does that keeps patrons happy, at least for me, it is. :D

It's great you were able to hit a variety of places. I've heard about the Donut Bar, and one day, hope to make it there. Thanks for sharing your trip.

It smells pretty close, but doesn't say Coco and Tonka bean. There is no brand name on it anywhere.

Great write up sounds like you had a great time. Even when we don't win a ton (or anything to bring home) I still think Vegas is one of the best vacations I can take. I love that I can get in several trips a year for the cost of one very expensive destination vacation.

    Thanks for sharing.

I enjoyed reading your report. Encore is one of my favourite places to stay - but not often, just a little too pricey compared to the free rooms from CET. Pay for parking is a pain but since I normally don't rent a car, it doesn't make any difference to me. It's just another of those nickel and dime things that drive us all crazy. Glad you had a good trip.

Thanks VC, just read and really enjoyed your family Vegas vaca report. Sounds like you guys really had a good time. Our trips overlapped, and we might have been at the fashion show at the same time as you.

Thanks! Encore is expensive, and despite our low roller status we keep getting free nights or very discounted rates with FP included. Hopefully that will continue because they have really spoiled us.
