I'm hoping to plan a Vegas trip for early June, which happens to coincide with my Identity Gold anniversary date. I've already secured my Gold status through June 2020, so on my next trip my hope is to start accumulating tier points toward my Gold status for the following year. If my anniversary date is June 2nd, would any play on June 2nd apply toward my 2020 - 2021 tier status, or would I need to wait until June 3rd to start earning tier status toward the next earning period?

If I'm trying to determine exactly when I can start earning points toward my new 365 day period, I'm guessing that I'll also need to account for Cosmo's gaming day. Does anyone know when their gaming day starts? I believe most properties are 5 AM or 6 AM, although I realize there's some variation.

The anniversary date thing throws me a little.

So you're Gold now, your anniversary date is June 2, you still have until June 2 of this year to advance to Platinum.

Let's say you go in on May 31 and earn 10,000 TCs, but it's not enough to reach Platinum. Does that mean those are "wasted" TCs for purposes of re-upping Gold going forward?

It shouldn't, because they supposedly run on a rolling 365-day basis. So as long as you earned another 10,000 before May 31 of NEXT year, you should re-up Gold.

I'm not 100% confident saying that's how it will work.

I don't really know what Cosmo's gaming day is, but I'd say 6:00am should be safe. If you remember playing early in the morning and can remember the play sequence from your last trip, you could go to the activity page and see what activity got posted on which day.

I'm almost certain the gaming day there is 5:00 am. The reason I bring that up is the promos have a 5:00 am time start/end on them for earning periods.

Also, the anniversary date is set as the date when you first made gold. It can change depending on when points fall off. So like above in Chuck's example, lets say you earned a bunch of points right before the anniversary date, but not enough. You will lose the status, but the points won't be wasted. You could even make it back a day later, as long as you get the points you need, and account for any that fall off from the year before.

Yes, I believe that's the case. Once you've established a tier, you've essentially established your own personal 1-year window for accumulating points to maintain that tier. Using my Gold anniversary date of June 2 as an example, that means that I have from June 2, 2018 - June 2, 2019 to earn 20,000 tier credits to maintain my Gold status through June 2, 2020. During this time period, I happened to earn a total of a little over 20,000 tier points during my visits in September 2018 and January 2019. That said, since I've already earned 20,000+ tier points between June 2, 2018 and June 2, 2019, I've locked in Gold status through June 2, 2020.

However, if I were to visit Cosmo between now and June 1st of this year, any tier points I earn wouldn't apply to maintaining my Gold status beyond June 2, 2020. At this point, I need to wait until on or after June 2, 2019 to earn tier points for my Gold status going forward. Given my Gold anniversary date, my cycle for earning and maintaining Gold status starts again on June 2, at which point I have to earn an additional 20,000 tier points between June 2, 2019 and June 2, 2020 to extend my Gold status another year (through June 2, 2021). In that respect, as Chuck mentioned, in my situation any points earned between now and June 1 of this year would essentially be "wasted" in terms of maintaining Gold status beyond June 2, 2020, as I can't start earning tier points again toward maintaining my Gold status until on or after June 2, 2019.

That said, although I've established an anniversary date and my own personal 1-year window for earning and maintaining Gold status, the rolling 365-day tier point earnings are still very much in play in the event that I would want to try going for Platinum. In that case, since I've never earned Platinum status and don't have an anniversary date, my Gold anniversary date of June 2 really has no impact on if/how I achieve Platinum. As such, to earn Platinum, I would need to earn 50,000+ tier points in any rolling 365-day period. At the moment, my Identity account indicates that I've earned just over 33,000 tier points over the last 365 days. However, in my situation, I would need to act pretty quickly if I wanted to go for Platinum and earn the additional 17,000 points, as I know that I earned probably about a third of those 33,000 tier points during my visit in April 2018. The points I earned during my visit in April 2018 will be dropping off next month, so I can expect my cumulative 365-day total to decrease as of the end of this coming April. Realistically, given my fairly modest level of play, I have no plans of aiming for Platinum anyway, as I'm very pleased with the level of benefits at the Gold level. However, if I was thinking about moving up, the rolling 365-day total would definitely be a factor.

Does this make any sense? I'm pretty sure that this information is correct, although I certainly might be missing something.

That's why it's a little fuzzy. I think if you advance your tier, your anniversary date should reset. And I have re-upped Gold several years inside my anniversary date, and it doesn't change. But my trips are structured where I always go about the same time, and I get half the points in one trip and half in the next.

But theoretically, the way the T&Cs are worded, any situation where you get 20,000 within any 365 day period should re-up or re-advance you.

I'm going to drop out of Gold this year because I skipped a stay in January. My anniversary date is July 31. I'm going in July, but I won't get 20,000 points, I'll probably get around 8,000. I'll drop to Sterling, but my anniversary date won't change. Why? Because I was Gold until July 31 and only became Sterling on August 1.

But if I go next January and somehow earn another 12,000, I should be Gold again (even though the other 8,000 were earned in the "previous" player year), and I think my anniversary date should reset to January. If I'm super-flush next January, I may test it.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone say they've dropped down a tier at Cosmo and then advanced it again.

I had this situation where I had lapsed back down to Sterling and then went back up to Gold as advancing a tier is always looked at in a 365 day moving window.
