If everything works out and I'm able to plan a Vegas trip for early May, there's a very good chance that I'll earn enough Identity points to advance from Gold to Platinum. This isn't something that I necessarily planned on achieving, but on account of the timing of my trips over the last year, it just might work out.

Looking at the Identity benefits online, I noticed that Platinum cardholders qualify for "At least 2 complimentary room nights per year." Does anyone know what criteria would qualify someone for more than 2 comped Identity nights per year? Also, it looks like Platinum tier qualifies for airport transportation, so I'm curious if this is usually in one of Cosmo's owned and operated vehicles, or if it's just transportation from a third party.

Any other comments about additional benefits to Platinum Identity tier would be appreciated. I don't know that keeping up Platinum would necessarily be sustainable for me, and I may end up dropping back down to Gold after a year, but I'm just curious about what I might be able to expect if I do make it to Platinum, even if it is just for a year. Thanks!

Airport transportation is through their own fleet.

Not sure how you get more free nights outside of just asking your host. Even when I was gold she'd comp me on the front end even without an available offer for free rooms just based on previous play.

I've not had a stay since I hit platinum myself, but you get 3x points on slots, and also free room upgrades so those both end up being valuable if you can get put into a free wraparound terrace or something similar

For me, the only appreciable bonus while Platinum was the Cosmo limo to and from LAS. The comps were the same value while gold, i.e.. rooms, fp and rc. Still had to tip $20 each limo ride. Gold is good enough for me.

You get $250 annual resort credit which is nice.

The 3X points on Platinum really makes a difference. What is earned through play can be converted to free play, or used to cover spend on food, spa, etc. The $250 annual resort credit is awesome as well - we have used it for NYE when offers typically aren't in play. The 2 nights per year is a bit misleading - it is way beyond that. I have an offer in my account virtually every day of the year, with the freeplay and resort credit tied to my recent play. I also get more invites to slot tournaments and other events - that VIP Cosmo cruise is as good as it gets! As has been said many times, play matters, but the round trip ride from the airport and back is a major treat, in my book. It is through Cosmo's fleet, and their drivers are some of the very best. I'd vote to give Platinum a try, and see how you like it : )

It sounds like these are your normal gaming offers from Cosmo, which are usually tied to the theoretical loss for your last trip and/or last few trips and aren't necessarily tied to your Identity tier. I was more curious about the free nights that are specifically tied to your Identity tier benefits. Usually they're listed separately online under the "Enjoy Your Gold Benefits" or "Enjoy Your Platinum Benefits" heading, along with any qualifying comped companion nights. It sounds like, as with Gold tier, Platinum qualifies for 2 comped nights and 2 comped companion nights. However, on account of the "At least 2 complimentary room nights per year" benefit listed for Platinum, I was curious if any Platinum cardholders have received more than 2 annual comped Identity nights based solely on Identity tier that weren't associated with a separate comp offer.

Nope. Just the 2 nights plus 2 companion. I've never heard of anyone getting the free room upgrade either. Best perk for me is the platinum line at the identity desk, because I lose my card about 342 times a trip.

The comp room nights is really fuzzily worded.

Probably because you can attain Platinum status without gambling. So comp nights would be a perk for someone like that.

If you reach Platinum largely through gambling, you can probably get comp nights anytime you want, including nights over and above an offer. I don't think I've ever seen anyone who's Platinum say they got granted extra tier-based nights beyond the 2 + 2 you get for being Gold.

Same, I have never been granted more tier-based nights. Yes, I have been comped beyond my offer by my host based on previous play. I'm sure it didn't take her more than a minute to see that I play (and try to lose) double if I stay at the same place the whole time LOL.

Not sure if I brought this up in a different thread but my host was asking me what nights I wanted to be my tier nights. Does it matter? I have seen the discussions about theo etc. but not paid a lick of attention. Are these nights I could "low play" and they won't count against me? We were going to go DT for a night on the next trip and I am assuming I should make that night one of the tier nights? I have always just paid attention to how many points I get to by the end of the trip - lazy, lazy, lazy.

The best thing about the complimentary nights... it doesn't count against your comps... so you can no play and not worry about your ADT.

The $250 credit is odd. You're supposed to call and set it up beforehand. I was told you can also do it at the desk while you're there. You may never need it... but the one time I set it up... the credit never appeared and I still have it. Not a big deal, but it would have been nice had it worked.

I think from what I've read over time is that your tier-based nights don't really carry a play expectation per se.

I've always used them as add-on nights to a regular offer, and I've always ended up averaging the same coin-in per night (including the tier nights) over the course of those stays as I do when I'm not using tier nights. I don't know what would happen to your future offers if you went and used your tier nights as a standalone trip and low or no-played. Theoretically, it's a free pass.

If you're using the tier nights like I do, to tag onto a regular offer, I think the question of which nights to designate as tier nights mostly would boil down to when do you want to be able to use the offer throw-ins.

I always use my two tier nights at the beginning of my stay. So the offer throw-ins can't be activated until the 3rd day. If you wanted to use the throw-ins right away, you'd ask them to tag the tier nights at the end.

I suppose you could possibly run into pricing problems if you want to use the tier nights on a Fri-Sat. It could depend on what room type, but I've always been able to get the same room type for my tier nights that I qualify for under a regular offer, and I've started stays on a Saturday night a couple of times.

The Cosmopolitans limos are only available for airport to and from. MGM

We stay exclusively at The Bellagio but I do play at the Cosmopolitan (just for a break) almost every trip. That play has earned Platinum status for 3 years running now and we do take advantage of the FP + F&B offers about every other trip to Vegas. One thing I will note about the transportation offers for Platinum status at the Cosmopolitan s that it is ONLY for airport to and from. Our Bellagio Marketing Rep has given us untethered Limo access aground Vegas since we became mid to 3/4 range Platinum to Noir status over the past 5 years.

It's probably true that they're only free from the airport to the property, but their cars will take you wherever you want to go if you get one while staying.

I guess my Cosmopolitan Marketing Rep Kristy mislead me on that one. She specifically told me that the Cosmo Limos wouldn't be able to take me anywhere else other than the Airport. Oh well...

Hmmm. My Cosmo limo driver was telling me about driving people out to Spring Mountain Rd, etc all the time, maybe he was just going rogue

I think it all depends on when you are using the transportation. When we came in late at night or butt early in the morning, we stopped at a convenience store and it was no skin off our driver's back. When you decide to come in on a Saturday afternoon at the end of the 2020 NFL Draft, you be grateful if your car doesn't resemble a Mumbai train and you get to the hotel in a timely manner.

Our last driver said it was against their policy but took us somewhere anyways. We gave him a nice tip.

I guess the way in which I asked is what gave me a definitive NO when inquiring. We often go up and down the strip for shows / dinner / casino play / etc and have the MGN/Bellagio limo take us any and everywhere with no question. I asked about that kind of unhindered access and was told emphatically NO.

I do believe it would be easy enough to ask for a quick detour to or from the airport tho!!

I don't find Platinum gets much more than Gold. If you're at 20,000 tier, I don't think it's worth going for the 50,000 for Platinum.

The main differences are the $250 resort credit, the airport transportation, and the 3x multiplier on slots.

I found the airport transportation to be their own SUV, however, when pressed, I was able to get a third-party limo for 90 minutes and could go anywhere. The driver, on his own, even stopped for pictures at the Las Vegas sign when he found out it was friends' first time in Vegas. Of course, expect to give them a big tip (of which they unabashedly keep reminding you). Very early on in their first year, they let me take the limo to downtown in exchange for picking me up at the airport.

My normal room is a one bedroom, and I've always asked for upgrades, and a couple times received a fountain view. But never the wraparound. And they've always called a host to check on my past play rather than just see status and upgrade on their own.

The 3x does make a difference, but I always end up with more comp points than I know what to do with even at 2x.

One undocumented benefit of the 3x is during the promotions where you need 5,000 points to swipe for a prize, it includes the multiplier. So you're earning comp points faster as well as the promos. This is the same as in the drawings and winter cashback and slot tournaments, where you can get an extra session by earning X amount of points. You can do it much faster with the multiplier.

I wish they'd upgrade Platinum just a bit. Could be 3 nights/3 companion nights, or 2x video poker, or 2 free buffets per week (like the locals get). Or even bring back the welcome gift amenity (a cool multi-tier box of nuts and chocolates) that they had when they first started.

But as it stands, I never feel the need to bend over backwards to renew Platinum.

I end up finding mine or left them in the room. So many “abandoned card” messages. It’s annoying they now nuke any old cards.
