Maybe it’s our host but for the past few years, if we ask for a ride anywhere they arrange it free of charge. Most of the times it’s the in house transportation which is amazing or a 3rd party. Pawn shop, downtown, Henderson, no problem. The drivers just hand you a card, call the number and a car is waiting to take you wherever. We are platinum of course.

Thanks for all of the replies to my initial message. As some have already indicated, I think that Identity Gold tier is definitely the sweet spot in terms of benefits offered in exchange for the amount of play/resort spending required. While I would say that I certainly strive to maintain Gold tier on an annual basis, achieving Platinum would primarily result from what turned out to be advantageous timing of my trips over the last year in terms of my rolling 365-day Identity point total. That said, I'll gladly take advantage of the benefits of Platinum for a year, but I'd likely drop back down to Gold for the next year.

Speaking of which, how does anniversary date come into play when advancing from Gold to Platinum, then back down to Gold after a year? If, for example, my Gold anniversary date is June 1st but I hit Platinum on May 10th, then is May 10th of the following year my new anniversary date to either earn 50,000+ points to maintain Platinum or earn 20,000+ points to drop back down to Gold for the next year? I'm curious if players have a different anniversary date for each tier level they've achieved, or if there is only one anniversary date and it is that of the most recently achieved tier.

    Identity Platinum,
May 10th would be your new date. You may coast on platinum too for another year. Can't quite figure out why it happened but probably something about the timing of my trips, I'm pretty meh about platinum, but all the points I had racked up over the year only dropped me down to gold with just a couple thousand to put me back at platinum at my anniversary date. I'll take it while I have it, but not worth trying for. Gold is definitely the sweet spot. Was pretty excited about hitting it the first year though hahaha.

Yeah this would be the only way I'd make it.

I think the way it works is that when you ADVANCE your tier, your anniversary date resets. If you drop a tier, it doesn't.

So in your example, when you reached Platinum, your anniversary date would move to May 10th.

If you did at least 20,000 but less than 50,000 points between the May 10ths, you'd drop to Gold, but your anniversary date would stay at May 10th.

Once that passed, if you reattained Platinum again, your anniversary date would reset again, to whatever date you regained Platinum.

I am sure in their internal system there are "degrees" of Platinum. Just wondering if we are leaving something on the table by not asking for a quick ride for supplies.

We were excited too. We did time one trip to beat the anniversary deadline but since then our dates have worked well to keep us in the Platinum fold without any effort. Always had a problem with remembering the exact date we had to work with but now the website kindly lets me know that we have until September 26 to make it for another year. Hoping that won't be a problem to do come April.

Remembering when it's valid and using it is my problem LOL. Just had to ask my host again cuz I can't remember if I applied it last trip and I'm not sure I'll get in another trip before my anniversary.

I earned 30k points in Feb but cannot get back before my anniversary. I never end up using the 250 so the only benefit is the 3x points. I assume my host will still give me vip and limo

Once a tier expires, they look at the past 365 days and assign a tier based on that level.

Here's another aspect of progressing to Platinum that might be worth taking into consideration. My Identity Gold anniversary date is in early June, and I've already renewed my Gold status for June 2020 - June 2021. That means that in early June of this year, I'll have another 2 comp nights and 2 companion nights available as part of my annual Gold tier benefits. Currently, I need a little over 10,000 tier points to hit Platinum. In the event that I earn enough points to hit Platinum during my trip in May (which would be prior to my existing Gold anniversary date), my understanding is that I would earn 2 comp nights and 2 companion nights as soon as I hit Platinum tier, but I would essentially forgo the Gold comp nights for which I had already qualified for from June 2020 - 2021 since I advanced tiers.

Let's say that I don't make it to earning 10,000 tier points during my visit in May. I wouldn't progress to Platinum, however I would still have 2 comp nights and 2 companion nights from my Gold tier renewal as of early June, which I could then apply to a trip later in the fall. If I then earned enough tier credits during a fall trip to hit Platinum, would I receive an additional 2 comp nights and 2 companion nights by virtue of progressing to Platinum? If that's the case, then perhaps the savvy move would be to hold off on progressing to Platinum this trip, wait for my 2 comp nights and 2 companion nights to post in June, use said comp nights during a trip in the fall, and then shoot for progressing to Platinum during the fall trip. In theory, I would receive an additional 2 comp nights and 2 companion nights as soon as I hit Platinum. Does anyone know if Identity works this way, or are there provisions in place to prevent this kind of "double dipping"?

I believe you're correct. If you progress to the next tier and haven't used the gold/etc nights then those are lost, and you'd only have the 2 platinum nights after progressing instead if having your 2 gold AND 2 platinum nights available

Unfortunately, you don't get added nights once you move to Platinum; you just get a reset of the same 2 nights/2 companion nights.

When I was nearing Platinum, I stopped playing short of 50 points and had a month before Gold renewal.

Checked out, booked another trip with my Gold 2 nights/2 companion nights, earned 50 points, and crossed over to Platinum.

Here's something to be aware of -- when you do cross to a new tier, make sure to remove your card and reinsert. Once I'd crossed to Platinum, I'd earned 1000 tier, but it didn't count toward Platinum renewal. The Identity desk and host marked my account to credit me the extra 1000 if I were within 1000 of renewing a year later. Just a flaw in their system.

    Identity Platinum,
That's why I am platinum again this year. I only had a bit more after my drop to gold, but you need to watch for tier points dropping off. The recent activity doesn't work anymore, so see if you had trips in there that would have points dropping off.

Interesting. I wonder exactly what they did.

Seems like it would be safer to stop playing for the day once you hit 50k.

That's right, you don't "bank" unused tier nights, you forfeit any unused ones when you cross to a new tier.

I see a lot of talk about the earned comped room nights for being platinum... But are ya'll achieving platinum from gambling? That's how I got platinum, and they send me a purple mailer offer every month or two which is way more than I could ever use; I can't go to Vegas everyone month or two. I mostly see the tier nights being valuable only if you're trying to setup a 5-7 night stay at Cosmo.

    Identity Platinum,
I don't think I've used my extra nights, maybe stretched one stay to 5 days. The companion nights are a hot commodity around my house. Everybody wants them haha. We took one set of friends one year (none of them did Vegas then), now everyone wants them and the trip is becoming a whole thing every year.

That's what I thought. If I were to hit Platinum prior to my Gold anniversary date, I certainly understand that I would lose my Gold comp / companion nights. However, if I remain Gold through my anniversary date, I would have my new set of Gold comp / companion nights kick in as of my anniversary date. If I were to use all of my Gold comp and companion nights during a trip later in the year and hit Platinum during that trip, I would think that an additional 2 comp / companion nights would kick in by virtue of advancing to the next tier, even if I had already used my Gold nights. Advancing to a new tier would mean a new anniversary date, so it would seem like a fresh start at that point.

I think @maxev was implying the same thing that @Chuck mentioned...if you advance to a new tier, you can't bank any unused comp nights from the previous tier's benefits. However, in my example, I wouldn't have any banked Gold nights, as I would have already used my Gold nights during the same trip in which I planned to hit Platinum.

I was always under the impression that any Identity tier point earnings on the day that you advance to the next tier don't count toward renewal. So if, for example, you advanced to Platinum on February 20th, you wouldn't be able to start earning points that count toward your next renewal until February 21st.

Excellent point. I always keep track of my point earnings each trip, and that helps me predict exactly when and how many Identity points will drop off of my 365-day accumulation period. This year, I know that I'll have around 10,000 points drop off at the beginning of May, and another 10,000 or so in mid-October.

Same. I can usually get my hist to tack on a couple additional nights for my companions too. Great perk.
