A Tale of Two Offers...

    Well, I know there has been a lot of speculation on here about MGM taking over Cosmo. Specifically, I was wondering how this takeover would impact my offers. I am not a big player, but enjoy my perks and my free nights. My next trip is booked at Cosmo for the first few days of the 2023. My host already comped this for me.

    Today I get a January offer with five comp nights, a little free play, and some f&b. I pull up the calendar and see there are zero comped nights. I have a flat right of between $140 and $170. Room types include up to a one bedroom fv. I am attaching a screenshot of my current offer calendar and the January one. I haven't had any activity on my account since I left early October. I am a little surprised to see this change in rate.

    Is this my future at Cosmo? Ick.

    Your offer says "comp nights" even tho the calendar wants to charge you... maybe comp nights can only be booked through a host now? It doesn't make any sense, not to mention it's a total contradiction, but hopefully the comp offers keep coming irregardless of the calendar.

    I'm looking at a Cosmo stay in April, but by then I might be told to go pound sand, lol

    I’ve had delays between getting an offer and having it show on the online calendar.

    I did get a new offer for January but any dates I check show a rate of $140 and I have 4B as my identity rate code.

    I usually have a January trip. Nothing planned yet and airfare is just stupid right now. But maybe.

    I believe there is a glitch in the booking engine for dates on/after Jan 1. As @chico7800 says, this has happened before, usually during a year-end crossover.

    But they usually have fixed it much faster. I think this one has lasted at least two or three weeks so far.

    From the pricing it almost looks like you are getting quoted casino rate for the lowest room type, whereas in prior glitches, I think the calendar would display the full market rate. And I think at the beginning of this glitch, all dates next year were just blacked out.

    It would be interesting to call and find out what the scoop is.

    So...maybe it's a glitch. But the one picture I posted shows my identity rate as 3C. @claired67 says 4B. I've never seen that code before. I reached out to my host to confirm my January comped stay and inquire about March.

    @Chuck ...Lol...I just had a few minutes to call. I already have an inquiry in to my host about my January rez and possible March trip. So this time I called reservations. She said I had the month of January comped. I explained that my rate was $140 when I looked and I've never seen that before. She said....that's the complimentary casino rate, but my weekend would be comped. So I guess, yes there is a glitch. I do not understand offering 5 comped nights and then giving me a calendar with casino rates. If I get anymore insight from my host, I'll keep you updated.

    I'm sure they'll fix it eventually, they just need to find the ex-Cosmo employee who knows how to do it. :)

    Just checked my offer and it’s half what the last one was that just expired . Haven’t played cosmo all year which may or may not have had an impact.

    I have the same glitch when trying to book into the new year. My offer is good until March, but as soon as it rolls into the new year, no comps come up.

    If you've never contacted the Identity dept via phone, I think they are by far the quickest, easiest phone reps to talk to and they're fairly knowledgeable IMO. I've yet to create my account online, and I book entirely thru their phone number. So if you're needing to book but the website is glitchy, I'd say give them a call.
