You got a great deal on a great driving car, who's only major fault is it has a Kia badge and is overpriced. Having done the Kia and Hyundai experience before, the stealerships will continue to be the downfall of this brand. Kia is doing a great job at designing these cars but they will never win over the market share they need to take from BMW, Audi, etc to become a premium brand. Glad you got a good lease deal, I predict this car will go the same way as Kia's other luxury car, where you see a ton of these in rentals fleets and bargain prices on 2 to 3 year old stingers on used car lots.

I was totally in love with this car when the concept coupe came out, and woefully disappointed in the styling for the sedan since I think they borrowed too much from the existing optima and hyundai parts styling bin. It sure is a damn fun car to drive though! Congrats on your new car lease.

Update.... There are the 5% of manufacturers that will lock in the rates, residues and incentives for inbound cars. The car you are getting and audi are 2 that off the top of my head lock in sold deals. Congrats on the great deal!

Packer your 99% right, its always better to deal on what on the lot. The only thing I would disagree with is if you have access to some type of inside incentive program, aka Ford A/Z plan, employee pricing, supplier etc. I used to custom order from factory back when I had inside pricing since selling price, dealer fees, etc where all fixed and most of the time better than retail discounts out the door because you could stack incentives on top of inside pricing.

I remember the days of having access to A plan and custom ordering Mustang Boss a good 2K below sticker, when the local dealers around me were only carrying one or two Laguna Seca variants and selling way over MSRP.

I had a bad experience with a Kia dealership. I think those in my area play games because the typical customer is credit impaired or upside down on their current car loan.

I found a used 2014 Genesis on Cargurus, but there was no price shown. It was offered by a Kia dealer, so I went to their website. In order to look at inventory, I had to submit my name, email address, and phone number. After all that, there was still no price on the dealer site, in fact, not a single car had a sale price. Just a mention “call dealer for price.” I played along, called the dealer and the inside sales person told that they needed to make room for new cars, make an offer. I lowballed and was told that it was a fair offer, come on in.

It was a total waste of time, the salesman quoted me a price that was about 40% more than my offer. When I asked how come my phone offer was not considered, the salesman said “I don’t know anything about that.”

@rycelover, I think these Kia dealers are not used to dealing with someone who understands the numbers and can negotiate. I think they all play rope a dope.

Quick question for you car people..

I am going to trade in my car but it just popped up that I need a brake job. Now that is about 2k on my SUV.

Here is the question. Should I get the brakes fixed before I trade it in or just have them knock off 2k from the trade in value?

I bought it and while I still have a few payments I do have some equity in it.

Send me the vin number I'll give you the bad or good news. I'll tell you what it's WORTH as a trade in, private party or auction. The real numbers. Off the top of my head seems ok ish as lexus holds its value mostly.

Update.. Without vin, miles and guessing from experience the amenities.... Guessing 35k miles? (miles really don't matter)

    MSRP when new 72,800 ish

    37500 ish msrp now
    Auction price 30k
    Trade in price 27k ish
Private party you should get 32k
Fair purchase price for this beauty.... From 31k to 33k...(If it is certified from a lexus dealership add 3000.00 ish)

They probably took it on for 27 to 29k or so... Put about 4k into it to fix it up (tires, paint bumpers, clean and so on) and certify it.

So in conclusion, you did just fine.
    Congrats...

Add tax and lic to everything above..

Got it. It pops up on the display so it will be seen. As for the 2k, I know it will cost that if not a little more at dealer and slightly less non dealer but agreed I will negotiate down. Thanks.

Packer what you do is so awesome helping people get the best deals for wheels. Thanks.

What kind of lease could I expect on a MB C43 AMG 2 door coupe, not the convertible. There is one locally here in NE Ohio with an advertised price of just under 64K. It would be an extra car for me so I could go low mileage and 2 or 3 years.
