My husband and I did the biohormones last week. I’m feeling better already and so is my husband. His testosterone level was 26- normal is over 900 - basically a 95 year old.

Hopefully we will continue to improve - it takes a good 2 months to regain normal numbers. We went to a doctor in town who specializes in hormone replacement. It’s not for everyone, but I have several friends the same age who swear by it.

A little incision in your backside. My husband had to have 12 pellets the size of tic tacs inserted. It’s a very large needle. Looks like the size of an apple peeler. She puts 3 in the re- directs. I had about 5 and much smaller. She numbed it up pretty good. Then steri strips to close it. My husband had not been sleeping well for over 2 years. He is sleeping all night now. His energy level is not better yet but it hasn’t even been 2 weeks. He is looking much better.

An update on my hormone therapy. This is the best I have felt physically and mentally in years. It has only been one month but so far I’m really pleased.

My husband is feeling somewhat better. But it takes months for men with low T to stabilize. And one side effect from Testosterone replacement in men is the body will convert some of it to Estrogen. So now he has to take an inhibitor for a few weeks unless he wants man boobs.

I forgot this thread existed. I hope those who have posted over the last couple years are still successful in their journeys. I have made a life altering change. I was 325 pounds, living off shitty food, probably drinking more coffee (with lots cream and sugar) and beer than water. I decided a few months back that I was going to do keto. It was hard work, a lot of planning, weighing food, tracking carbs, learning recipes (i love to cook). That being said this week I have hit 50 pounds down! I have only had 3 beers (michelob ultra) since I've started and when I have gone out with friends, it has been goose and sodas to drink. I am happier, back in the gym and continuing to shred the wait. Was prediabetic and last week doc says well into normal range with no more concerns. I plan on doing keto until I reach my goal weight, which is 65 pounds away. I will reevaluate then, but too soon to tell. I do know I will never revert back on my previous lifestyle! I do plan to let loose in Vegas, but still not going to pound sugary drinks or eat bread and fries. Will just have to fast/detox and get back on track upon return.

Congrats Macker! Thanks for posting. I keep trying to go keto but my carb addiction get the best of me after about a week. I’m trying again after my upcoming Vegas trip. Reading about your success is inspiring!

Id had tried numerous, diets, plans, whatever you want to call them. I was always tired, miserable and because of that failed. For me keto has not been that way. The fats keep me full and I get to have foods that I really enjoy. There are some things I miss, but the results outweigh that.

What are biohormones? I have been on testosterone and thyroid hormones for years now. But that is a pill daily for the thyroid, and a shot every 2 weeks for the testosterone. When I had my testosterone checked the first time it was 76.

Bio therapy hormones are compounded in a pharmacy. Dose is set by lab values and weight. Plant derivatives. Unfortunately insurance doesn’t pay. But it comes out cheaper for husband then getting injections. The pellets dissolve over 4 months for women and 6 months for men. I was hesitant at first - thought it was all bunk. But I have several women friends that told me how great they feel and a couple of guys also. One of the men said he had tried pills and cream and it did nothing for his levels and he did not want to do weekly injections. He has normal levels and said he feels great.

I know my husband feels better even if he won’t admit it. He literally was in bed 16 hours a day at least. He is sleeping better and getting up and out of the house.

It’s been a while since I posted in this thread...about two years.

I managed to get down to 195 around March of 2018 and stayed there for several months but that was as low as I got. Had shoulder surgery in November ‘18 and then had some complications. Activity level really dropped off and I got back up to 205. Since April 24th, I’ve dropped 15 pounds and am currently sitting at 190. I’ve hit a groove with diet and exercise although I’m limited with working out with weights due to STILL recovering from surgery. Diet has been key along with cardio and light weights/high reps. Goal is to drop another 10 pounds by August 1st so I roll into Vegas at 180. I won’t have my desired six pack but I also won’t be sporting a pony keg anymore. Lol.
