Hi Crystal, sorry about your back..... We want to help the skeletal and muscular inflammation. This is different than intestinal or arterial inflammation...

The product in your link covers and treats both forms of inflammation as it contains curcumin.... curcumin is the active ingredient in turmeric... In small doses this is very beneficial... less than a teaspoon a day..... curcumin is also a natural blood thinner so too much can be dangerous as our blood won't clot properly...

If I were you, I'd get pure turmeric powder and have 3/4 teaspoon a day, but with your condition you need a few other things too....

As a woman, you can tolerate and need more calcium than a man. Calcium is a natural "Calmative" for muscles.... but calcium is hard for us to absorb in our systems. BORON is a natural element that allows our bodies to absorb much more of calcium...

Like most things in life there is poor, good, better, best.... I recommend a very good calcium supplement in micro-encapsulated form (powder in capsules)..

Most supplements are of calcium carbonate,, garbage stuff made synthetically... Try to get calcium ascorbate or calcium citrate.... Also you need 1/2 amount of magnesium to full amount of calcium for best absorption also.... Then the boron really helps to absorb both the calcium and magnesium...

Also get a good B complex,, 200 mg 3 times a day.. B complex is a water soluable vitamin which our body assimilates (uses up) in 4 to 5 hours... B complex is an oxygenated vitamin, meaning it brings oxygen to our muscles to help them heal and not to spasm as much....

Turmeric powder, 3/4 teaspoon.,,,,,, try to mix with some black pepper are curcumin (turmeric) is poorly absorbed and the black pepper increases absorption by 1700 %...
Calcium ascorbate or citrate,, 1500mg to 1800 mg..spread out
Magnesium Citrate... 700 mg to 900 mg.. spread out
    Boron 300mg

    Hope you feel better..
    B complex 200mg 3 x a day..

    YES!
I read and don't post (except for that article I read and posted about ketosis). Taking it all in. Need more details on 69 bean soup, booked a cruise for April and need to drop 15 by then (not lol). Will run and get back to lifting too. Sigh.

    good to self-figure... very scientific..

    c & p

    Calculating Your BMR

You can do the math yourself, using the appropriate equation:

    • If you’re a man, your BMR is equal to: 66 + (6.23 x weight in pounds) + (12.7 x height in inches) - (6.8 x age in years). Example, if you’re 170 pounds, 5’11”, and 43, your BMR is 66 + (6.23 x 170) + (12.7 x 71) – (6.8 x 43) = 1,734.4 calories
    • If you’re a woman, your BMR is equal to: 655 + (4.35 x weight in pounds) + (4.7 x height in inches) - (4.7 x age in years). Example, if you’re 130 pounds, 5’3”, and 36, your BMR is 665 + (4.35 x 130) + (4.7 x 63) – (4.7 x 36) = 1,357.4 calories
Next figure out your total daily caloric requirement by multiplying your BMR by your level of activity:

    • If you rarely exercise, multiply your BMR by 1.2
    • If you exercise on 1 to 3 days per week, multiply your BMR by 1.375
    • If you exercise on 3 to 5 days per week, multiply your BMR by 1.55
    • If you exercise 6 to 7 days per week, multiply your BMR by 1.725
    • If you exercise every day and have a physical job or if you often exercise twice a day, multiply your BMR by 1.9

This calculation gives you the number of calories you burn in one day at your current level of activity; this is the number of calories it takes to stay at the weight you are if you don’t change anything.

Applying Your BMR Calculation to Weight Loss

Once you know your BMR and the number of calories you burn for your activity level, you can improve your weight-loss efforts by setting a lower daily caloric-intake limit.

Slotness @PACKER has some photos of his 69 bean soup and of the great chicken dishes he has made. . I'm a poor man's bachelor cook novice, Packer is a chef... Check out his dishes. He posted a chicken dish 2 or 3 weeks ago that looked amazing. .

15 lbs. by April you can do in your sleep. Dvanentop loses that much in three weeks...

Thanks @Willie this was the kind of advice I was hoping to get...precise and straight forward. Can I mix the turmeric with pepper in a bit of water and drink it like a shooter (while plugging my nose) to hide the taste...

I currenty take this liquid cal mag because I am female in that age that requires support for the change. Hope its ok for now cause I just bought it last week and dont want to waste it.

I was just reading up on that @PACKER . I think I will hold off on the turmeric for a couple weeks because I was just on Naproxen and Cyclobenzaprine Mon, Tue and Wed and they are not a good mix with Turmeric. Once the RX is out of my system I will research it further. My Physiotherapist has me on rehabilitative pilates 2x per week starting next Thursday. Luckily my benefit plan through the shipyards where I work pays 100% of it because it's $80/ 55 min. session. I am very fortunate to have such a great plan. Here is the site I found regarding side effects and Naproxin if anybody is curious

I roasted a pumpkin the other night. I read an article on the health benefits, can't find it now.
I expected it to taste like pumpkin pie, it didn't of course so I put on some sugar & butter, but still more healthy than pie, and tasted better than squash.

the next day I put some in my salad and it really added some body to it!

Hey Crystal, the cal-mag sounds good. it is the citrate form which is very good... i'm not crazy about the added ingredients, but this is a good product, IMO..

Yes, you can drink the turmeric with black pepper mixed, but the taste.????? Why not just put it on chicken or in a smoothie.??? B complex and the boron are equally important Crystal.... Healthy fats too like in organic oat bran and a good fish oil actually help lubricate our tendons which give structure and foundation to our muscles... Best wishes..

Turmeric has many excellent health benefits which have been discussed n this thread previously, or you can google health benefits of turmeric...

But like most things in life, we have to be smart and use common sense... Cars have great benefits, but if we drive 100 mph or drive drunk out of our minds,, cars are not so excellent.

Some people take medications that are also chemical blood thinners. A common ailment is Atriel Fibrulation, called A-Fib for short. ... People areoften prescribed blood thinners that allow the blood to move more freely. Xarelto and Pradaxa and others are blood thinners (chemical). Some pain medications can also have a chemical blood thinning effect.

Turmeric is an natural blood thinner used holistically... It has many benefits along with blood thinning. As we age, our arteries clogg some. Some more than others, so a natural mild blood thinner can be good... When we mix turmeric with chemical blood thinners, that may be too much thinning.

There are many who say that chemical blood thinners do more harm than good.... I saw on TV last month, a man had emergency surgery and he bled to death during the operation because his blood was so thin due to chemical blood thinners...

turmeric is healthy if you are not taking medications that can thin the blood.. turmeric is excellent for inflammation in our arteries as well as skeletal and muscular inflammation...
Daily dose of turmeric is 1/2 to 1 teaspoon a day, depending on your size.... I've been taking it for about 7 months...

    Goodness :(

I have just weighed myself for the 1st time in months, I am 10 pounds heavier than I assumed, so that means I need a 40 pound weight loss. I'll do it, but I'm starting a few steps further back and it's abit discouraging. Anyway, I already have a girls afternoon planned for today, of shopping drinking, eating and talking, in addition to another date night tonight. The girls I hang with are beautiful and thin so being out with them is gonna be tough on my diet and as for my date night it has been pre-planned at a German Beer Hall so have no idea if healthy choices exist.

Off to my treadmill. I intend to be thin for my next Vegas trip, which may be in March 2017 if I can find cheapo airfare.
