American Airlines - elite status upgrade

Hey all. So with the caveat that I have no idea whether or not this promotion is offered to everyone or just select people I logged into my American account today and saw an offer to have temporary platinum status for three months. It’s a earn up type opportunity, which means that they give it to you for three months and you have a chance to earn I guess up to either keep it or even go higher. Seems like an amazing opportunity for someone like me who has very few American Airlines miles and zero status on American . You might want to check it out if you don’t already have this status. I was able to go in and select better seats on my flight next week to Vegas for no upcharge. And I think it also gives free checked bags!

 

Good to know, thanks. I kind of assumed it might be targeted but I was not sure. AA not my airline of preference but I’ll take a free status upgrade, even a temporary one.
