@IrishDave Louise says to Thelma...aren't we meeting the kids at Cosmo? Thelma says yes. Louise, quite observant....so what's with all the B's everywhere....I cannot make this stuff up. They are a hoot. Dinner at Holstein's delish. I have a surprise waiting for me at 9 from hubs! No idea what it is.

@aprilroncincy we went on a Maverick helicopter ride over the strip. In over 40 trips, this was something we had never done. Pretty cool experience. I am home and tomorrow or so I will do a photo dump and some final thoughts. Be warned, the photo dump will be more food--as the gambol was ..meh....

Also, what is up with folks coming home from Vegas. Seen today: a grown woman with a large unicorn boarding the plan. She kept the unicorn on her lap the whole time. The girls next to me--took off their shoes and cuddled in a large blanket. Then, they held up deplaning because their shoes could not be found. And finally, grown ups with multiple giant Vegas glasses hanging around their necks. Good grief! Just get on the plane and don't talk to me.

Okay. I am back. I am not fully recovered, but am working on shaking out the cobwebs. Just some thoughts:
Since my last trip in early June, masks are now required. This was strictly enforced at Cosmo. One night we even saw security escort a guest out who was going on about he has a right to refuse. Whatever, buddy. Also, I think the workers are really being diligent about cleaning everything. The hand sanitizer at Cosmo still smells gross, but it is in abundance everywhere.

No one is monitoring the elevators, but most folks are using common courtesy. I had two instances in 4 nights where people got on the elevator and had their masks in their pocket or hanging off their face. I did not hesitate to say put it on. And they did--except some young kid turned his back and mumbled under his breath while he put on the mask. No worries, I teach middle school. Kids mumble under their breath a lot--it doesn't hurt my feelings.

So overall, I did not feel unsafe at Cosmo and would return, even on a weekend. Now, I need to add a little about my mom and aunt (Thelma and Louise). They arrived Friday and stayed at property X on the strip. Both nights they were in their room by 5 pm because they simply did not feel safe. In their view, no on was cleaning machines and certainly security was not enforcing the masks. They were very impressed with what they had seen at Cosmo based on their first two nights. Again, I think everyone has to do what makes them comfortable in these crazy times.

So..on to the gamble... insert crickets here. It was not for lack of trying....but the good hits were far and few between. I am attaching hits of what I found on my phone and they are not great. At one point hubs suggested we just sit on the balcony and drop Benjamins down below--at least they'd last longer than my current play. Ha. Ha. As if I'd let that slight criticism alter my strategy.

If my math is right I think my coin in was over 22k and I lost about $3100 ish. So for 4 nights, that seems about right. My coin in was heavier the first two days. I only play slots. I tried @Hoofy7 on Wonka for over an hour. After 60 minutes I had a ten dollar profit. I did move on to Emerald City. Managed to make a little there on some crazy Dorothy and Glenda bonus with a wheel.

I actually considered playing VP at Chandelier upon arrival to see if I could generate hits like @GlenCoco , @Texas Steph , @IrishDave , and @Wiscolovesvegas . But, playing the on line VP with Cosmo the last few weeks has permanently damaged my confidence. LOL..I even try to remember tips from @tringlomane, but then I just decided to plunk down on a comfy couch and drink Veuve. Good decision.

Cassandra took care of us every day and said it was somewhat chaotic Friday night when Chandy shut down. I guess people were playing slots around the bar or standing on the outside trying to give CW's their credit cards for Chandy drinks. But by Saturday everything was back to normal. I think I can attach a picture of the bar roped off.

So, the best part of the trip was definitely the food. Finally tried Scarpetta and this did not disappoint. I was a little shocked at the lack of dress code by fellow diners. Slides and joggers--seemed a little too casual. But the food and service were excellent. Secret Pizza and China Poblano--always and yes more please. I am still recommending folks try The Golden Steer. Tables were spaced about the the chicken parm and toasted raviolis...just Wow! Can one have a relationship with toasted raviolis?

Our daybed at the Boulevard was great...just super windy that day. The temp was about 110 and no umbrella. We managed to go over our spend in about three hours. Nothing new there. Still no pushy pops! Next trip is not until December.

Thanks for the recap. I loved your comment about kids mumbling under their breath. I also taught middle school, so that was really funny and true! Wish the gambling was better for you, but sounds like you still had fun.

Thanks for the recap! Glad you had fun and that Thelma and Louise felt better being at Cosmo.

Did you upgrade your room? Did I miss that part?

@claired67 ...I didn't even ask! I was so excited to go to the room and take my mask off. It was still a great view. I was pleased we were able to get a room so early on a Friday.

It was a great view! I miss it.

Chandelier is so pretty too with the sparkles and drinks and no people in the background.

@claired67 ...yes. I am totally down with no people in the background. I think social distancing in the casino is the best thing ever.

Haha! I love having space. And nobody in the background of pics. I usually wake up at 5am for that.

Thanks again for your updates. It makes me feel a little hopeful that my August trip might actually happen.

I am SO happy to hear that things have improved at Cosmo in the safety realm. Ya know, I was talking to @Wiscolovesvegas, and I think that our somewhat negative experience July 4 weekend was due to a perfect (shit)storm: mandatory masks a still somewhat new decree so folks were trying to skirt it/be rude AF to the poor employees...holiday weekend...the “rough LA crowd” coming over... and nightclubs being closed on top of that (where that crowd may typically be found in a pre-covid Vegas) all contributed to the experience.

Your account of this really gives me better hope for a potential August trip, so thank you for the honest report! Now just to get the bartops back open...

Really appreciate the trip recap. I’m sorry to hear it wasn’t a winning trip (or even break even!), but sure sounds like you made up for it with all of that food & drink porn and pool time!
Happy anniversary and birthday again, Anna!

Thanks @GlenCoco ! I am lucky in love and I will take that any day! Food and drinks... yes! I finally remembered to take pics beforehand. Who wants to see my empty plate?

I try to include wins/losses because I think it keeps the report real......you lose some and then you lose some more... Unless you happen to be Ron from @aprilroncincy !! :) LOL...I would do better if I could make a good decision late at night with my money. I can't.

I am so bummed I can't fit in an August trip because it sounds like so many VF's will be in town. Enjoy that trip!!! School starts for me mid August.... for realsy, in person. I am counting on ya'll to give me some good pics and reports!
