So I finished up my trip only 194 points away from Sterling. I know - I should've looked before I left. Is there anything I can do at this point? I already called and made sure all my folio charges were applied - they were. Do any of the shops take orders over the phone? I'm $50 away from Sterling so it would be more than worth it to me. Thanks!

I inquired about that last year and this is what I was told:

As of today, you need an additional 2,832 Tier points to maintain your Gold Tier status before 1/24/18.

You may purchase a gift cards online at:

    https://www.cosmopolitanlasvegas.com/gift.

We are able to post transactions retroactively up to 90 days from the original transaction date. In order to process the request; we would need the following documentation:

o A PAID receipt showing your name, OR

o A copy of the credit card and/or bank statement substantiating your charges. The documents must be in your name and indicate payment to The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. Please obscure any confidential information other than your name.

They were not very clear on what I was supposed to do and it didn't matter that much to me. But what I understood from that was that I could buy gift cards to top it up? I'd email or call and confirm first, but if it was only $50, I would have done it. That would be worth the effort. i'm getting lazy in my old age ;)

So it must count as activity on your Identity account so you don't lose anything if you haven't visited within a year?

I thought identity doesn't care if you are active in a year, don't their points drop off a year after you earn them? That's mostly why I was emailing them. I thought I was a little short but it ended up being more than I thought. Still sucky cus I could have done that on slots no problem, but for resort spend, I don't spend enough to use the cards.
My brain is a little frazzled at the moment, I could be wrong. You guys seem to understand the email that I couldn't so.. hahahaha. It's time for a Vegas break

I went to the gift card site but didn’t see anywhere to put in an identity number to link this up. I only went up to where you’d enter payment info but didn’t since i don’t need to buy one right now.

I bought the gift card. Stupid 23 dollars in fees. Called identity and sent them the info with receipt. The added the 1750 points asap from the gift card and now platinum

How's it convert? It's more than dollar for dollar right?

Typical spend is 5 points per dollar. @littlepiggie is that the rate you got?

Nice!!! I emailed the spa manager and she was double checking to make sure they would get me tier points but from the replies here it sounds like that's correct. My question is - do hotel room fees count? If so, at 5:1 - would an $800 hotel stay make you Sterling? Seems pretty easy to get and I'm sure if you were gaming you'd get better offers. I did $8K of coin in over 3 days and was hoping for some room offers for our trip next year but so far all I'm getting is $75 FP and the same room offers available to everyone. I'm hoping an upgrade to Sterling will elicit some better room offers. The spa lady told me to email my receipt to her with my Identity # and she would get the points loaded. Well worth my $40.

Yes you get tier points for room spend. I even got points on my resort fee.
I don't think your tier affects offers though. Mine stayed pretty consistent even when I missed gold and dropped down. It's all about gambling, but you get sterling perks so it isn't useless, just not a huge benefit, which is why I didn't spend the money to get back to gold. I wanted the companion nights but I just booked my friend at Planet Hollywood. She then jammed on me right before we were supposed to go, so really really glad i didn't do it. Yup, I'm rambling now.

See I'm curious as to whether tier affects offers. One of the benefits listed to Sterling is "exclusive offers", so maybe you have to be at least Sterling to get room offers? Regardless $40 is worth a free night to me even if I get no other room offers.

Yes you get 5 Identity Points (and tier points) for everything on your folio except tax. I get around 4,500 tier points a year from the fees to upgrade my comp reservations to a Terrace Suite.

Tier status doesn't improve your offers though. $8,000 over 3 nights on slots is $2,667/night which is on the low side for offers at Cosmo.

I was Sterling beginning July of last year until July of this year, and haven't received any offers other than the $75 free play if you stop in. I've since dropped back to "Velvet" (not a fan of the change in name from Silver), and of course, still have no offers. I stop by Cosmo every trip, but apparently haven't given enough play for room offers. I think you really need to be a guest of the hotel to spend enough time and money in the casino to get decent offers. When Cosmo first opened, I was contacted by a host, Josh was his name, and was offered free rooms fairly routinely. I definitely have fallen off their radar, and I think it's because I haven't stayed there. The system could work differently for other people, but that's my experience. I agree that tier level doesn't affect your offers. It's all about the money. :)

Thanks for all the advice. I won't do it then - I could care less about the status, plus I'll earn it anyway within an hour of walking in the joint my next trip. I'll concentrate more of my play @ Cosmo next trip and I'm sure I'll start seeing better offers. Thanks again!

I've gotten very similar offers between being Sterling and Gold (4 nights + small amounts of free play and sometimes F&B credit).

Even when I was Sterling I was getting resort fees waived, so it seems that status is mostly separate from marketing offers.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know if you can earn Identity points through resort purchases (restaurants, retail, and so on) when a Cosmo gift card is used as the method of payment?
