Same deal...buffalo before bed. This time max bet. Fed it for a couple of hundred and won a bit and then it ate it all. One more note and this:

Last full day. I leave tomorrow Afternoon. The tables are pretty full. Busy casino at the MGM.

I mixed it up again, not staying long enough at a place to get hit badly. As a result my
Rating and player time will be hit no doubt. Up $700 on the day so far, mostly winning it on the Craps table.

I’m not going to dip into the front money bankroll in the cage now, so I’m easing off. Will definitely play for keeps still !!

Going into the last evening with a profit of nearly 20% of my bankroll brought on this trip. Hoping to catch a wave tonight !!

Up $400 from slots and now onto dinner. This restaurant is in Central (Landmark Hotel) in Hong Kong. So let’s see how authentic it is.

If you come here, then there are Cantonese and Mandarin speaking staff. They opened this restaurant in time for Chinese New Year early Feb 2018. We have ordered only
    Chef recommended dishes which are
    Quintessential Chinese banquet food.

The differences are that the Hong Kong restaurant caters mostly for morning and lunch menu. Different menus to this restaurant in Las Vegas (MGM Grand).

Let’s see what these dishes look like.

Barbecued Pork. Standard dish. Tasted fine, but it’s not real Char Siu Pork. Not even close.

Shanghai Dumpling. They served it with the correct vinegar. After applying it to the open top, it’s OK. The skin is clearly restaurant made, but it’s too thick.

Snow pea leaves - a type of green that is to die for when done properly. With the garlic, it should arrive so fragrant and the greens should be crisp when biting into, releasing wonderful flavors.

    Complete failure.

Chef special; mince pork with seabass and tofu base. Spicy sauce. Not on menu. Fucking disgraceful. The fish is so over cooked. It’s not flaking and is completely bland. All I get is the chilli sauce hit.

The Braised beef on the bone...well, the Chinese don’t cook this beef in this way so I think it’s a signature take on an existing dish with onions. It tastes fine. I just wouldn’t order this again if i ended up in the same restaurant.

Summary: don’t come to this restaurant if you want a proper Chinese food experience. Even be it’s own merit, you never waste a Seabass by over steaming it.

My host is asking for more feedback. He takes care of Far East guests and, believe me, those guests will simply leave the hotel for other food and end up gambling elsewhere

So....Sunday night draws to a close...at 5:00am! I finally put in a proper craps session which may please the host a little. I’ve well under gambled on hours per day and average bet.

The slots paid out a little to keep me going for the evening, and then I hit the tables for quick ugly sessions on Ultimate Texas Hold Em and Blackjack. I had my entire winning as my bankroll. Craps session saw me did down to $900. Choppy table, then it picked up a little with some hits from two other shooters. Then my roll..... all tall all small hit. Plenty of 6 & 8s. Lots of crap numbers along the way.

I cashed out. I’m $3,500 up for the trip. First time in years I’m going to walk away up from Vegas!! With the bankroll locked back up at the cage and sending back to my bank later this morning, I’ve protected the capital.

No danger of playing with it as my flight isn’t until the early evening.

I don’t know if I’ll get hit with charges to pay on the room or F&B or Show Tickets as I know my play has been short on this trip. I’ve got a really nice host so let’s see...

Congrats! Nice way to end a great trip.

After this, do you think you’ll stay with the shorter trips? (Last year’s long one was brutal, as I recall, even if it was fun to cheer you on from the internets. :=)

Definitely can say with certainty that 23 nights is too long . Even with control, the pressure to play is too demanding, and even if you forget that you don’t play for comps, the urge to play is too compelling. This year, I really controlled my play by switching to lower tier slots (Buffalo) to unwind and still win/lose a decent amount. This broke up my sessions on the Craps table and even made them more enjoyable. Control saw me through this year in Vegas! We can’t control whether the dice work for us or not! But we can control when to walk, when to play, and when to do something else.

I think 7 nights is a tad short because I didn’t have a recovery day for getting used to the hours after a 12 hour and 1 hour flight with transfer, so went into a trade show very tired.

I agree with Wanker here. Just walk in, and see what the host says. If they say you didn’t play enough just stay quiet. Let your host come up with the answers. If you feel like you need to reply, just simply state, yeah I guess I was a little reserved this trip because of the massive losses I gave MGM resorts last trip. See what they say. You should have earned SOME express comps. Maybe ask them to take it off of there and then pay the rest if the host says you still have a balance?

Interested to see what happens here. Keep us in the loop!

    Congrats on banking a win!!!

I am ecstatic that you had a winning trip! Congrats!!

While we all love comps to make the losses less painful, a winning trip, playing smart and not chasing comps is even better! But here's hoping your host takes care of you so you don't have to "comp yourself" all that much. :)

I hope you have safe travels home, thanks for sharing the report.

I’m so happy to read that you actually had a winning trip! Well done! I know how hard restraint is and to just walk away and not chase. I’m rarely ever successful at it. Thanks for the restaurant reviews. I won’t try the Hong Kong restaurant now after reading your report. Where do you suggest going for authentic Asian cuisine? I’ll tell you what I would like to try: a really good bowl of ramen, some kind of super spicy seafood fried rice with vegetables, and a good dumpling. Lol I still chicken out about playing craps by myself. I’m just too overwhelmed on the betting end, despite reading so many reports from craps players on the board. When is your next trip?
