Are You Still Overweight ? Why ?

    This is not a thread that I expect responses to be made, however maybe it will help change lives at least for some...It is to direct you to the research threads...

    For decades I battled being overweight and was 350 to 415 lbs. for 35 years. Perhaps some of you are overweight too....
    I couldn't be successful at losing weight because I didn't have the proper KNOWLEDGE or TOOLS....

    About 18 months ago @PACKER and @dvandentop and I started talking about weight/health on a different Vegas forum and we continued conversing on this forum....

    Combined we've researched over 400 hours and have seen all the myths and lies and scams on the internet about weight loss..... So we experimented on ourselves what worked and what did not work...

    My reason for this thread is to inform old and new members that there are 3 "Health/Weight" threads available on this forum.... @PACKER has kindly organized the 3 threads and it contains a vast wealth of proven-correct knowledge of weight loss and health..

    There are over 1,500 posts with links and copy and pastes explaining the knowledge... If you spent $1,000's of dollars you couldn't get all this valuable information....

    I come as a humble man just hoping that maybe a few overweight folks will benefit.... My highest weight was 414 lbs.,,,, today I'm 216 lbs. and 6'10" tall..... @dvandentop has lost 25% of his body weight. @PACKER has lost and is much healthier..

    @PACKER ,, kindly post the 3 Health/Weight links here so the folks can go and read the material... @PackerBacker has recently joined the faculty and is contributing much expertise....

    There are 43 days till Thanksgiving when "EATING SEASON" officially begins and lasts thru New Years.......

    The info is there in those threads.... Don't be like me and be obese for 35 years..... Cheers and thank you..

    Hi Willie - I haven't read the other threads, but have seen them. This is interesting to me because I've lost about 45 pounds in the last 6 or so months. I still have about 20 - 25 pounds I'd like to lose, but the last month or so I have been less active and staying around the same exact weight or losing maybe .5 lbs per week.

    Initially I was going to sign up for a plan like nutrisystem, however, it was going to be very expensive, and I wasn't convinced the food portions would be satisfying.

    I am in my mid 50's and I can honestly say I didn't know how to eat healthy.

    Some Observations (based on my opinion):

    - American's are addicted to sugar & white flour
    - Eating Healthy does not have to cost that much more
    - Dieting does not mean you have to go hungry
    - What public schools teach as "nutrition" may not actually be that nutritious
    - There is a ton of good free information available

    Thanks to you and packer for spending the time on this. There is no doubt that obesity is rampant in the United States and probably the cause of the majority of health care problems most people are facing.

    Congrats on the weight loss and continued success..... Many of the things that you mentioned, and more, are contained in the 3 threads and links that @PACKER will provide when he posts the 3 links to the three threads.. You stated above that you've seen the health/weight threads, but haven't read them. That is why I am trying to shine a NEW LIGHT on them with this thread to find the 3 threads...So folks are aware.

    We want to burn as much fat as possible for our fuel source,,,, not use sugar and sodium as our fuel... In the threads we list foods, juices and supplements that aid us.....

    I believe that you'll enjoy and benefit from the 3 health/weight threads..... Peace to you...

    Wanker brings up a point I forgot to add to my post, and one of the reasons I gained a lot of wait. STRESS EATING and Eating for Comfort. I wasn't even hungry but I would still eat. And most of the time it was garbage calories! Chips / Salty Snacks / Sweet treats / etc.

    And yes, what you describe is exactly what I have done - KETOSIS ie burning fat instead of sugar/carbs. It's insane! Actually have tons more energy and feel full most of the day.
