That is really strange. I guess it pushes you to order room service or leave the property...

The hour-by-hour sales must have dipped dramatically after 10:00 pm.

Maybe one reason for lower sales is that the convention attendees staying at Aria don't tend to be a late-night crowd.

I think this change along with Bellagio scaling back the hours of its café is a clear indication that MGM is trying to push its 24 hour service restaurants to its smaller snack bars (snacks and jean phillipe for these hotels). If they cut back the hours for Wolfgang Puck at MGM Grand, it will pretty much confirm this trend

Surprising after being 44th by top earning restaurant in us.

Closing at 10 makes it easier to run it with two worker shifts.

Hell, I went there at 3am once after having a crazily-delayed flight and the place was, if not full, at least busy. Very odd.

Oddly enough, I was just poking around the Aria and Bellagio websites earlier today, and (1) noticed the change to Cafe Bellagio hours, but (2) was heartened by Aria Cafe still being open 24/7. This is pretty disappointing, even if it's admittedly unlikely to affect me all that often (the 3am trip was a huge outlier for me).

FURTHER EDIT: 10pm is just such a weird closing time for them to pick, in that it's earlier than literally all of their other flagship restaurants. The whole point of a Vegas cafe is that it's open for mornings and late nights. Aria Cafe is good for what it is, but I can't imagine there are all that many people picking it over the other available options at 8pm.

Geez. I just hope they stop changing things for the worst by the time SF arrives.

With a skeleton crew, they need to shut down over half the restaurant. Remember, its a big place with operating costs also. Back of the house isnt like front of the house. Front is mostly tips. No business means no wage for them. Back of the house gets paid no matter what with the hourly wage and guaranteed their money. Not sure how the laws are in vegas though.

Yes, its cost cutting and they should have a place 24/7 for customers but seems like its not working there?

Who would want to work late night and know that they will basically not make money?

I think partly due to location. Not a easy to see spot.
If Jean Phillipe stayed open 24 , they do good business . Imo.

Well, okay, fine ... there goes my 4 a.m. or 5 a.m. still-up-and-drunk breakfast option at Aria ...

Do the all-purpose cafes prep a lot of the room service at a lot of properties?

Maybe I'm just projecting from Luxor, I was shocked their room service only ran until 2:00pm, then I found out that's also when their cafe closed.

At least at MGM properties, when this is the case they make it more or less clear. Luxor and Mirage, for example, both call their service "in room delivery" from the relevant restaurant. Given the size of Aria, and the fact that both the cafe and room service were 24-hour until recently, but with pretty different menus, I'd be surprised if they were using the same facility/staff. And Aria, like Bellagio, is still offering 24-hour room service (at least for now, though I'd honestly be very surprised if they did away with it -- those two, unlike a lot of the lower-tier properties, don't really strike me as primarily attracting the sort of clientele who just use the room to crash and thus don't ever both with room service).

We went there a couple of days ago and it was roped off (closed). Around 10 other folks wanting food were hanging around trying to figure out what was going on.

The electronic menu in the front of course days open 24 hours - the least I would have expected is for them to have a notice about their new times and adjust the times on the electronica menu thing. But PGP dictates why pay an employee to adjust the times when gamblers can find out the changes on the VF boards first.

Yeah I originally thought it was a typo, but then I started looking at catering menus and forms and figured out it wasn't.
