I wouldn’t be upset if plan B was $500 in Identity Play.... As for the concert... I guess she’s never heard the phrase “fake it til you make it.”
USA Today said refunds are available for those who paid. I doubt they substitute at this point. I hope the comp people do get in the neighborhood of $500...
I wouldn't think, but you never know. Throw enough money at someone spending NYE in Vegas and they may cancel whatever personal plans they had.
In theory they would have created a backup/redundancy plan many months ago for multiple situations ranging from issues with the artist to issues with the venue... You can’t just not think of things like this. Imagine if IT systems had no backup plan. Anyway, the backup might be to do nothing but that lacks any thought. But they certainly shouldn’t be finding a new artist the day before. If done properly there would be a contract in place for this exact scenario and the replacement would be on an airplane to Vegas as we speak.
My guess is that they offer their NYE comp guests tickets to the Imagine Dragons show as a backup before any Identity Play. My offer from Cosmo allowed me to choose tickets to either Ariane or Imagine Dragons. I threw away my invite but, if I recall correctly, the two acts were scheduled to play on different nights.
The NYE offer that people have posted here and I got included both concerts (and the fireworks show). It wasn't one concert or the other. I haven't seen a version of the NYE offer that required picking a concert.
My nine year old granddaughter wanted desperately for me to take her to see Ariana Grande as she is her favorite. So glad I didn’t book it as it would have been a big disappointment for her. I read that tickets were being scalped at $1000 per ticket. I’m wondering what Cosmo is going to do for their players who accepted the NYE offer. I would think that a big amount of free play would make most of them happy. They have to offer their best players something in lieu of the concert.
